Thank you for posting this! I'm aiming to apply for the British Airways Speedbird Programme in 2025 so I'm doing my best to get all the knowledge I can!
85 percent of people who try quit due to money issues i find it disgraceful that people can rock up to become A AND P's by going to uni/part 147 school and can secure a loan however if you want to secure a loan to become a pilot you either have the money upfront or have parents that can take a loan on an asset like a home etc. i guess thats why mechanics get such poor pay because anyone can become a mechanic if they want to but most cant become pilots even if they are the best or desperate.... and btw lets be honest about as a pilot and A AND p MECHANIC i can confirm that the majority of pilots are average iq its not a difficult thing to learn if u train consistently and have the money to do it monday to friday you can do it. its like learning how to drive it becomes difficult when u do 1 lesson a week due to money issues thats when u really struggle.... P.S- the only people who fail at flight school (not because of money) are the ones who thought they can get an atp and go make 500k a year lmao those ones get a reality check real fast and the others are the ones with exceptional cases family member death etc thats it if u fail/drop out for any reason other than money or exceptional case you shouldnt be flying becuase it aint for you. best case you grow to hate it worst case you get people killed or your self.....
Thanks for sharing your insights on this. On one end though, mechanics make decent money too and you just have to work for the right company. Pilots wages recently became attractive too so every job has it's cycles.
@@stephenav8 i understand what your saying but as a pilot i implore you that the next time you a write up for a hard landing or an issue arises take 5mins to speak to the engineer make sure its a B1 licensed engineer that you speak to as they can provide the best insight to how horrific the situation is for them i really mean it when i say they struggle with union issues pilots had it bad in the 2000s sure but those days a long past engineers have yet to catch a break and btw the A mechanics are working for poverty wages and capped at £35k a year theres a reason i jumped ship and its really shocking considering the egnineers who sign off work have our lifes in their hands and yet get paid so bad???
Hi Stephen, do you know if easyJet are the only ones with an open cadet route at the moment? I can’t find any others as speedbird etc are closed for the year from what I can see. Thanks your content has been very informative for me so far!

Is ATPL really that hard, i really get anxiety and sleepless nights because next year i will go to an integrated flight school , and i was never school smart , but i have the desire and i am willing to sacrifice everything to become a pilot, do you think an average person could pass atpl theory??
