What we need to do? 1. Minimize soil erosion by planting more trees & plants which can stop soil erosion. Also need Infrastructure to stop soil erosion. This will also help in flood control & landslide. 2. River linking for diverting excess water. 3. Water shed management & water harvesting can help to recharge ground water & can help to minimise water runoff & flood. Whatever we are doing is a temporary solution. For real solution people & government need to work together. Infrastructure development is not a bad thing because after all studies any good infrastructure is made... It is just a tool for manipulation.

The reason behind the rainfall in India during the winter is due to the wester disturbances Western disturbances:-The moisturise winds originating from higher pressure from the Mediterranean seas travels towards the northen part of India where there is relatively low pressure causes the rain Impact:-Fog in many states is cause due to the western disturbances etc

I know damaging crops in Punjab and loss of life and property due to flash flood . Lanslide is more common in himalayan region. There us more risk of heavy rain . India is blessed with a monsoon system and Himalayas which stops water for india as to feed its river and life of india. Western disturbance are also necessary for crops in winter . But sometime, i think due to human interference with nature, it is changing. However, a good administrative system can prevent losses in such calamities by proper pre planning .

I love the way you explain. Just a small correction if I may add. The pictorial representation of southwest monsoon over India is incorrect. In the southern hemisphere, the winds blow in North West direction. As it crosses the equator, due to corialis force, the winds change direction and flow in the north easterly direction. It continues to blow over the Arabian Sea and hits the Western coast of India. For winds, the direction is the direction it's blowing FROM. Hence, southwesterly monsoon. Thank you for the great work. as we continue to cut forests (trees) for human consumption which is actually leading to global warming when I was in school we never had an air conditioning machine in our house and we can sleep in summer peacefully but now after 20 yrs, the heat is so severe that without AC we can't sleep

western disturbences are the part of indian monsoon system that brings rain in the winter season. Western disturbences are generated from the mediterrain sea. Winter season creates high pressure in the meditarrein sea and the natural tendency of air moving from high pressure to low, leads western disturbences towards northwest india. western disturbencs brings in winter in india, so this rainfall is considered good for Rabi crops, especially wheat. Moreover when these rainy particles get condensed in low temperature, they create fog in northern india. Heavy snow fall can be seen in upper himalyas region. All these factors impact the temperature and upper himalyan region records minimum temperature.

I think for some fluctuation circumstamces happens and prevents to rainfall 5% to 10% earth heats also losses its power and becom slow and cool after rainfalls in monsoon, the hidfen water drops as soon as gets force of wimds, pressure and heat, that should be tje reason it comes again in winter with very low proporsion. That efgects the adversely to our crop.

The moisture in Western disturbance is carried from the Mediterranean Sea, the Caspian Sea, and the Black Sea. When these storms interact with the Himalayas, the moisture is forced to rise and condense, resulting in clouds and precipitation The main source of winter rainfall in north India. They typically occur from December to March, when the monsoon winds have withdrawn from the region ∆The Himalayas act as a barrier forcing the moisture-laden winds to rise and condense. ∆The temperature in the region is relatively low during winters which also helps in the condensation of moisture. ∆The landmass in north India is vast, which allows the moisture to spread out and cause widespread rainfall.
