I just bought the mpc one about a month ago and I can agree even tho I never used it yet. But by me reading about the circles of 5th that help me understand keys out of scale that can still work in a scale. I think if people read about the circles of 5ths and understand that it'll help take a person's music to another level. cause scales are relative to each other.
Pad perform needs alot of work, it still needs the ability to strum! Should have been had that feature, but I think its main purpose is like you say to just get a quick idea down..
As soon as I got my MPC Live 2, I noticed this issue with the chords. Since I play piano/keys there’re a bunch of passing or out of the scale notes that cannot be played by just relying on the MPC scales provided. Preset variant chords can perhaps be created, or fix the notes once using the software…great video 🙌🏼
Even though I don’t know how to ply pad perform indeed was the holy grail but I would just instinctively change a note here and there before I seen this video but this was spot on though for sure
