@@zeller1217 i did some testing with my Deyha (C1) and since she has 12 sec uptime on a 20 sec cd i feel the team very inconsistent (and i don't have R5 Sac), the only diference is that i use Nahida instead of Emilie

for anyone who is missing some of the characters in the video , in the upcomming natlan version( (5.1) will feature both xilonen (phase1) and nahida (phase 2) , xilonen can replace zhongli and overall increase the damage of your team as she shreds enemy' s element resistance base on the element of other characters in her team and also provide an additional 40% elemental damage buff(20s duration) from the new artifact set, if you start saving by now you could at least get 1 of the two aforementioned characters in version 5.1
@@siroomik yeah but being uninterrupted while attacking (specially with Mualani you need to dodge less so that Nightsoul will be consumed less) is still better.
Just to note, Widsith and TotM's attack buffs do not help Mualani in any way due to her pure HP scaling. This means Widsith has a 1/3 chance of giving her a useless passive, and Dehya is better kitted with the new supportive natlan set rather than her usual TotM build.
I think the addition of Xilonen will greatly improve her teams. The biggest problem with Kazuha is not being able to swirl hydro on Mualani teams consistently, Xilonen on the other hand can give a similar amount of RES shred without needing to swirl or anything like that. In my opinion, her best upcoming team would be Mualani, Nahida (or Emilie), Dehya, and Xilonen, saving Xiangling for other teams.

You CAN run Furina in the 4th slot IF you do Nahida and Xiangling for burn application. The healing can be provided by prototype amber on Nahida (and possibly Mualani herself as well). This not only buffs the entire team, but also adds burnvape Furina for massive damage. Very expensive, very inconvenient team to run that doesn't get much survivabiliy and can sometimes screw you with bad RNG, but boy does it do damage when it works.
Definition of high risk, high reward, too. If I was any less lazy, I would run this team whole HEARTEDLY 😭 maybe I’ll make a more in depth video on these kinds of interactions at some point, cause although they’re generally super inconvenient, they sure can be fun and flashy high DMG teams !!!
isnt it a bit risky to run furina with mualani? its a lot of hydro application also, prototype heals are minimal, even tho nahida has low er requirements, its very very low you can also run furina and baizhu full of er instead of nahida if ur crazy enough
Oh I use Furina in Healer form in this team the other 3 do enough damage without her contributing and she can keep everyone alive very well on a healer build
While burn-vape wasn't all that common (especially before Neuvi), burning itself wasn't rare sight for melt (in this case burn-melt) teams, with Wriothesley or Ganyu
I can't speak on Wriothesley (bc I don't have him nor was I around when he came out) but I CAN say -- while forward-melt ganyu does work, it used to be (and I'd assume still IS) very, very difficult to pull off and requires a loooot of skill and knowledge on elemental gauge theory to make it functional with mualani... you just, light enemies on fire and splish splash, no brain required (which i love)
@@dragonflymarcus few times I managed to get burning off enemy (Nahida + Dehya) so I'd argue so brain is still required with Mualani... or just not Dehya lol
Burnmelt Ayaka with Nahida/Bennett/Kazuha is also absurdly super strong. Cleared last and current abyss with it and it feels good once you get used to the setup. Though stats in my burning set are absurd

I was warming up to him slightly after playing c1R1 on a friend's account for a few months, but going back to him after pulling Mualani made me cringe. Even though Mualani herself can be the queen of jank at times

I've been experimenting a ton with team comps the last couple of days, so this video is helpful! As for build, I've been having a lot of success with a four piece Heart of Depth set with Sacrificial Jade as my weapon. Hit 500k dmg with her level 6 burst last night against the abyss' PMA boss fight haha
My team is Mualani, Furina, Xiangling and Baizhu..so comfy, but sometimes i no longer swap to Mualani cuz enemies die just setting up the rotation. haha
same, mara hunter being the best set I could put together for mualani by far and lacking in hydro goblets makes furina basically mandatory for me. seeing 500k bursts and 300k snarky bites with such low level talents on such a comfortable team is amazing, really glad I decided to pull for her.

That’s not how the burning interaction works here actually. You don’t get any additional application because of burning as hydro just extinguishes it. Burning is just non intrusive and makes it so establishing a hydro aura is harder. As it has to go through dendro on top of the pyro aura.
you actually DO get additional application! as of 3.0, the burning reaction was updated to establish a system where it applies 1U of pyro every 2 seconds on a burning enemy. so it IS -- effectively -- providing a source of pyro application. if hydro were "going through dendro on top of the pyro aura" then mualani would be consistently triggering blooms AND vapes, but that (as you can see in this video) does not happen almost ever. pyro is the dominant aura, and it is constantly being "re-ignited" by the burning reaction :)
@dragonflymarcus No they are right that burning does nothing in vape teams but protect from hydro overtake. Burning starts with a 2U non decaying burning aura, which is consumed equally with any additional coexisting pyro aura and behaves like it. Hydro on burning completely extinguishes everything (2U and the other pyro aura AT THE SAME TIME) unless u would somehow apply more than 2U pyro (doesn't exist in the game currently). Applying more of the same elements don't add the gauge values, it takes the max (even the decay rates in the case of pyro). Burning is still great if Mua is paired with another hydro or an inconsistent/slow pyro applicator like dehya because it prevents overtake, but burning additional app does not help as you need burning in the first place (unless you were thinking about protection against cryo/geo app ?). U can read about that on the wiki or simply test in game that absolutely no burning/pyro aura is left after one hydro app, and obv burning doesn't apply pyro if it's gone.
When pyro archon comes this team is going to be replaced with Furina double hydro if the leaks are correct. Pyro healer will enable more particles for Xianling and healing. This team is somewhat viable right now but having xianlings burst up is extremely difficult with solo pyro and due to having furina in the team fast pyro application like Xianling is an absolute necessity to not have all the vape procs stolen by furina
Artifact wise you actually want someone to carry deepwood and someone to carry Petra if you care to pick up the shard. You can actually do deepwood XL and Petra ZL so you can shred damage for Emilie.

I do need to specify that it's only really for burnvape teams with emilie that this can even be considered, BUT I did add that to the info as well as reminded that your deepwood should onnnnnnlyyy really be placed on characters that can use it without sacrificing a lot of their own DMG potential. I wouldn't really recommend running it on XL most the time, only because her energy requirements are absolutely MASSIVE in this team, so EoSF has so so so much value as is. BUT if youre running Zhongli or especially another dendro unit in your flex slot (or just anyone who can comfortably use Deepwood) then yes, absolutely youre right, deepwood for emilie is great !!
@@dragonflymarcus I agree, its just that for max potential in these teams you'd also ideally want Petra (or the new Natlan set at least) since it can buff Mualani's dmg. At least for min-maxing, I think XLs damage is really negligible compared to Emilie or Mualani and so the benefit of running Deepwood on her (or alternatively Petra on her and pick up the shard that ZL drops) is just too strong.
also keep in mind all the pyro characters can use 4p instructors to buff mualani even more and dehya can hold forest regalia for an extra 120 EM too, if u dont wanna use sac sword
I have been running her with Baizhu, Nahida and Dehya and this team has been really fun so far (I’m one of the few players who loves Dehya and now she finally has a permanent slot in a team YAAY) I’m planning on replacing Baizhu with Xilonen in the future can’t wait to see what that will be like
I have some ideas, idk if these will work so I'm testing it later. 1. Mualani, Nahida, Dehya, Kachina Dehya on Instructor set and with SacGS. Kachina with Hero set. Nahida with full EM build. 2. Mualani, Nahida, Dehya, Yaoyao/Kirara. (Dendro res active) Nahida and Dehya is same as above. Kirara and Yaoyao built with Instructor set as well while being triple HP. 3. Mualani, Dehya/Xiangling, Kachina, Zhongli. (Geo res active) Kachina same as team 1. Zhongli built shield bot or maybe with Petra. Now for Pyro, idk whether to go with Dehya or Xiangling. Xiangling would add more personal dmg from her but Dehya can carry Instructor set here for Mualani's dmg. Honestly I'll test which one is more seamless to use(guess I have a robot chicken to cook or in this case, make soup with).

So the point of why Nahida is on Proto Amber is to help with sustaining the team since Dehya cannot sustain the team that long. Nahida can still have give a good amount of EM since Dehya is there with Instructor. My Nahida has 840 EM and with Dehya she gets to 960 EM which is only slightly lower than the full 1000 EM needed to give out the max 200 EM she can give to the active character, in this case Mualani. With Dehya giving 120 EM and Nahida 192 EM, Mualani gets a total of 312 EM. So if you plan to use Nahida with Mualani, I really don't recommend Xiangling as the pyro. You will lose on the EM Dehya gives not to mention the sustain you need. The only time I can recommend Xiangling is when you go Emillie instead of Nahida. Both deals so much dmg that you might not need sustain at all but if you don't have Emillie, then go for Nahida-Dehya instead and don't waste your Xiangling in this team.

if you want to play burgeon vape with mualani run her with with c6 candace and c1 emilie for the extra dendro application, though nahida may work. mualani vapes and then candace blooms right after, then emilie triggers pyro application from dehya's field to explode the blooms and reapply burning before you do it again
@@MarcNavarro-q1dthat'd be fun if i had money to throw at the game but i'm just stupid lucky, emilie came early in the same ten pull as c1. other night i ended up with mualani c1 less than 20 pulls after first getting her, i just wanted kachina c1 but i really can't complain because she's busted. always when i remember to, wishing with intent and deliberation (like emilie doubled up ten pull came with me and my friend having just switched the party to only chioriya boutique outfit characters, did a bunch of water activities with a saurian before pulling for mualani the first time) - or with the inertia of murphy's law (thinking "what's the worst that could happen going for kachina c1, an early mualani?" when otherwise having been planning to save for xilonen). so no i'm not a whale but i believe in magic which is more embarassing
well, kinich is also coming as a dendro burn dps like Emilie. In fact, emilie would be the best partner for kinich in a burn team. And this, vap team was already there before mualani. Ganyu melt team used to use this team, Ganyu, nahida, zhongli & xiangling team.
I don’t want to take away from the core message of the video but everything you’ve said also applies to melt Ganyu too. Love the fact that this helps her and her preferable set for charge attacking is wanderer’s troupe which also gives her 80 EM on top!
Hi! I've tried it since I got the weapon but not emilie. Since XL is the single pyro of the team, she will struggle on getting her burst out. My build using 4pc emblem and skyward spear with 260 ER was not quite enough to comfortably burst on every rotation so I don't recommend it. But XL damage was good using Emilie's weapon tho, but not worth the struggle.
A little note. If you are using widsith, its better to use a yelan or emilie instead of nahida because with widsith EM buff, EM overstacks and hits diminishing returns. I found yelan to be buffing mualani dmg more than nahida in my testing.
On a side note the team comps for Mualani right now are not the best ofc since burning reactions as smth reliable were implemented rn with Natlan and I'm sure that the upcoming characters (Xilonen 👀) will buff Mualanis dmg by a mile.
Also the current pyro options are awfully bad, even Xiangling who needs over 300% ER to be usable as a solo pyro option and if you choose to use more than one pyro unit you are losing dmg sadly.
I can't help but notice that Kazuha is swirling into burning (Pyro). Shouldn't you use it to shred Hydro? How much of a buff to Mualani's damage (if any) is he actually giving when he Swirls Pyro? I'm missing some knowledge about how Kazuha and/or Vaping works? Does an Hydro attack that was vaporized (by interacting with Pyro) benefit from Pyro shred/buffs? Great video BTW, specially loved how clean the visual examples given at 13:00 were. Very easy to see/understand, and everyone should have at least one of the units suggested for each element.
ive been using mualani burnvape with mualani emilie xiangling and then furina, but only in her healing form to get her buffs but not ruin the vapes while keeping my team very much alive, i reccomend it its been helping me do half a million with shit artifs on emilie and mualani
I've been playing it with a very very weird comp but that works, Mualani, Emilie, Xiangling, Bennet so I can have Bennet working as both a battery and buffer to Xiangling and a Deepwood carrier for Emilie, while also doubling down on the Pyro Application for Mualani comfortably do whatever she wants, it's a festival of damage with Dendro raining, Xianling ult and Mualani surfing, also double pyro helps Emilie with her ridiculously low Atk so I felt it beats Kazuha, because when he is there there is no carrier to Deepwood so Emilie suffers, also swirling Hydro is no always easy with the burning aura so Mualani ends up not getting anything either, while Kazuha is Kazuha might just put him on my Arlecchino's side swirl Pyro and do the room in 15 seconds so I can play a weird comp like this one.
I know everyone was saying skip Emilie because she's going to be a niche sub dps for Kinch but I was sure she was meant to be a sub dps in burning melt/vape teams and am so glad I picked her up for my Ganyu. I only pulled Mualani on a challenge account and I don't have Emilie there (or Nahida, I severely limit how many 5 stars I can pull on that account because...well...challenge!) and I can feel the hole in her teams from not having Emilie or Dehya. I'm predicting that they will be the MVP's for non Natlan characters during version 5.X
6:30 - what about the drinking horn from the 5.0 graffiti event? Both visually and in terms of its stats and effect, it seems to be intended as a "signature 4-star" for Mualani.
@@gordonj.9592 It's worse than the free craftable they gave everyone, unfortunately. The craftable also gets better with refinements. It's also similar to Prototype Amber for other characters. In short it's pretty but not worth.
Ive been debating over who want as a hydro DPS for a long time now. I have one for nearly every other element (sans geo...) but every hydro i had was a sub dps or healer. Im so happy i struggled on that decision for so long because it means i was able to get both her and her weapon 🥳🥳🥳 and since i already have a 600EM nahida all i need is to build my new Dehya hehe. Though i have to pick between Zhongli and 1000EM Kazuha haha
My Mualiani burn vape has double dendro with Emilli and Biaziu with Dehya as my pyro burn kick starter. The EM from Dendro Resonance is helpfull for more vape damage. Plus i rarely die with damage mitigation from Deyha and a sheild+Heal from Biaziu. And Emilli's personal damage is quite high as well. So killing Things quickly is fairly easy.
I'm using a r5 Ash Graven Drinking Horn (currently lv70) for the additional 80% total HP-as AoE damage and HP% sub. I'm running with all 70 Xiangling, Noelle (tank healer), and Lisa for Overload).
My comfy team with Mualani is Dehya - Deepwood, Emilie- Reverie, Zhongli- Petra She is using temporary 2pc/2pc Golden Troupe/Tenacity since Natlan artifact domain keeps giving me trashy stat and substat. I find the playstyle fun. The cons she is facing right now is that she has very limited pyro off field support. Maybe future characters will address this gap.
Xiangling's ER requirement is so high that I don't want to use it without Bennett. Thoma xinyan and dehya are down bad. I hope mauvika is a kind of character that deals high amount of dmg off field and has low er requirements for mualani team.
I hope that Mavuika will work well with Mualani. Hoyoverse should know we are missing pyro applicator for her do they would make her probably. I am playing Mualani, Furina, Xiangling, Baizhu team rn. Furina does not steal vapes almost never but I wouldnt complain about stringer pyro
Using Nahida and Xiangling just to apply constant Pyro is overkill, Xiangling alone is enough. Sub Nahida with another supportive character and give him instructor set for EM.
5:15 it's not /technically/ BiS (similar to how Marechaussee isn't technically a BiS artifact set for any characters damage-wise), but it is the easiest artifact set to build by a lot. If you're able to get above 80% CR using substats on another set (or a 2PC 2PC) it ends up being more damage than Obsidian Codex, but Obsidian Codex is basically just get right main stats and a few acceptable substats and you're going to be critting super consistently. Especially if you have the Battle Pass weapon for Mualani, then Codex overcaps on Crit and you're better off using 2PC 2PC or something like Heart of Depth.
True!! I should've elaborated this a bit further (I consolidated a lot of info to make the video flow a bit better) but I should've worded that a bit better, bc yes, dead crit rate stats are... worst case scenario, and lots of catalysts will make that scenario far more likely to be reached
@@dragonflymarcus It is definitely the best choice for F2P or people that pulled her signature weapon though, since it works well with the Natlan craftable Catalyst and Widsith which most people have access to.
I got her and I got her signature weapon. It's just too bad I can't get the domain to give me pieces of that set. I keep getting nothing but the other set.
I hate when people say she lacks emotion. She unvokes emotions in others through her playing. Thats why you were flipping out the entire time. Also, she's a classically trained guitarist. They dont waste energy in unnecessary movements or theatrics. Its all about precision.
If only i could get good stats on her artifacts, i hate farming new domains, i still haven't got a good set for my arlecchino and i have to use gladiator and I've been farming that domain for months...
Im predicting mualani,nahida/emilie, xiangling/dehya/thoma, xilonen to be her bis when xilonen comes, we dont know nothing about mavuika yet so its a possible pyro replacement
nooooononono suck that sigh back it RIGHT NEOW. >:D Nahida isn’t the only capable dendro unit for this team, especially since the dendro character’s only job is TECHNICALLY just to enable burning. Kirara works great, Emilie’s amazing, Baizhu’s amazing, and I suppose if you’re really struggling with dendro characters, DMC couuuuld work in this team, with some build adjustments and lots of ER 🙂↕️
