I'm more curious about the main engine harness, the hydraulic suspension, and the roof operation does any of it work. I got my sl600 about a year ago nothing but a money pit so far but I love the car when it's working and nothing is broke so I keep it
Tony Galles Engine harness has no problems, 1996 and newer models had an updated harness that does not decompose, roof works perfectly everytime, I do find that unlatching the hardtop after it's been on for a few months takes a few extra seconds, the soft top works like a charm. Previous owner replaced all the cylinders for the hydraulic roof. Suspension is smooth however one of the suspension spheres needs a replacement which I did not get around to doing yet. Otherwise I love the car, even if it stops working at $3400 USD it makes a nice ornament
@@midealautoclub not a bad price but got you beat 🤣🤣 my soft top going up hangs up going into top latches for some reason I have to let go of switch and hit again and it's fine
I haven't seen an R129 SL that had a glove compartment on the dashboard. Maybe in Europe they had a glove box, but at least all the US models I've seen have the passenger airbag located where a glove compartment normally would be. That long skinny trim piece looks like the header piece to the windshield. Good luck with the build!
Michael Kim - that's what I found out too. Because of the button for the phone control I thought at first that there would be a glove compartment. I guess the door pockets and center console will have to do.
