Quitting while youre ahead is no sign of weakness but a sign of intelligence. I have been around sense before you bought the first house. I agree with you're decision and I'm sure most of us understand.
Never heard of this guy before but this is a shame. Seems like a genuine guy and as per normal the society we live in has ruined something I imagine was fun. Completely the right decision to make, you've got to protect yourself!
You are in a very unfortunate situation. I am so sorry for you. But, you are making the right decision. I appreciate how you have grown and matured over the years, but despite these challenges and obstacles "real life" throws your way, you Tanner, are not letting it beat you and you continue to live your life to the fullest possible. Congratulations! You are a real man.
It sucks as someone from the UK who has been a long-time fan of the channel as I was planning on flying over to the Flip Pad one day to better my skills :(
I mean he’s in the middle of know where how are people supposed to go to it and it’s very small for a lot of people so it’s kinda obvious that it would fail
genuine question, why can’t you just make people sign a paper that says if they get hurt it’s on them and they can’t sue you? like they’re coming in at their own risk type thing?
I believe those laws of negligence and liability are dictated by the state, and could allow for someone to sue even if they sign a paper like that. Would have to look into Kansas specifically to know for sure
I find it another funny😮part of the USA. People complain about the Federal Goverment being a system of overreach - the reality the states, councils and HOA interfere unreasonably far more.
Um. It’s actually NOT an amusement park. But it’s like a gymnastics dojo and would fall under the same category as any Karate or MMA or any other “Gym” you can possibly think of! Amusement parts have rides and roller coasters and zoos and aquariums and all kinds of bullshit!
Dang it, that sux. I am sure you are an LLC. And the state with their 2 cents and people with their attorneys in their back pockets. Good choice to close to the public. Just remember your dignity and passion can never be taken away. Best of luck to you.
Aww man that sucks big time but look on the bright side. You got to gain so much experience, made friends and got to live out your dream. Even if it was for a short while. You have the memories. Maybe a company will sponsor you or go in business with you, you never know but in this day and age when everyone is suing everyone reluctantly you made the right choice. You've worked hard for your money and it would be unfair to put it all at risk. Keep jumping and look forward to the next adventure.
Can you just put the flip pad in an LLC? That would protect any other assets you have if someone decided to sue. I’m sorry you have run into all these liability issues. Thanks for providing the gym to the public while you could.
Adulting. It’s tough. But you’re ahead of the curve. I don’t know who you are, but I know you will always be a wonderful asset to the community. Keep up the good works, big things to come for you and the people are you.
Only in the United States can someone voluntarily take part in a potentially dangerous activity then sue the owners of the business if they get hurt, it’s actually disgusting.
Hey Tenur, I give you a lot of credit for starting your own business. Very few people in life take this risk. I can tell by your enthusiasm and personality that you will be a great businessman in the very near future. Keep grinding and best of luck to you. 👍👍💯💯
At the end of the day, you have a massive warehouse space. You can sell all of your equipment and start a new business in that place. Hope it works out for you
Wow as a kid I remember going to sky zone and dreaming of owning my own space haha bravo for you for taking the risk 🔥💪 it’s always a lesson learned never a bad choice bro keep your head high hope all turns out well
Genuine question here, but could you not set it up on a donation based availability since making money off this isn't exactly the goal and have attendees sign a waiver/contract to not sue and by attending they are consenting to be solely responsible for any injuries that may occur? If I recall correctly, a park in my hometown did something along those lines and was able to avoid any legal issues because all of the attendees were there on their own regard. Somewhat similar to a skatepark or something. Usually community/city funded (in your scenario community) and is an "at your own risk" type deal.
I'm sorry that you've lost your business of the company. This is where it ends until now. Last time, I went to your main channel and watched the video how you built a place called The Flip Pad! It was great as it used to be. 2 years earlier, I recently enjoyed it before.
This is really such a shame. You are right real life sucks, the regulations would rather stop people having fun because the government isn't making money off it.
Cool looking place. But sat and sun 12-4 =/ Not many hours. Would make a pretty cool laser tag place. Sucks about them restrictions, pretty dumb imo. Best luck, is a cool looking spot.
damn im from WA and have wanted to go since it was open sadly theres nothing else in kansas that i know about besides the pad to plan a trip around. Hopefully one day i can be ur friend and come lol
Welcome to litigious America. You provide a relatively safe space, to do a relatively dangerous activity and somehow if someone voluntarily partakes in your space and gets hurt, it's your fault. Sorry it didn't work out. This is the country we live in.
I’m not well educated in business but… Why can’t you create an LLC for the flip pad and that way if anybody sues you, they can only take the assets within the LLC (the building, trampolines, business earnings, etc.) This way they cannot sue your personal assets (house, car, personal funds, etc.) Also, is there not a waiver that people can sign before hand putting liability within the person who signs? Once again I’m not super educated but just a thought. I’d recommend getting a lawyer.
I just don’t understand why if someone signs a waiver saying you aren’t responsible if they get hurt, they’re still able to hold you personally liable if they get hurt…
Well shoot! My 7 year old son is super bummed because 1) he wanted to have his birthday there in November and 2) He has been wanting to meet you! But I get why you have to do it.
