If movie somehow shows the Petrotism then national anthem should be played to relate and generate people's feeling and understanding for that movie content. Normal people after school, hardly ever find any function or moment where they are asked to stand for it. If once in a month or 3 month or 6 month or even in a year they are going to watch any movie which asked them to stand for national anthem then it should be an honour for them to stand and respect rather than discuss on point weather i should stand or not. Its really pathetic for us we discuss this thing and say to ourselves that we are patriotic. Patriotism has nothing to do with standing on National Anthem. Do something for country so that people will remember you for good deeds and development. No one will gonna remember when you stood last on National Anthem.

where else you get to see people from different caste, creed, age or rich and poor alike under one roof. Govt offices have certain aged group people and also this will exclude a huge no of population working in private sector. How many people go to the gatherings of Republic day or Independence day celebrations, most spend their time in home or spend time on vacations during that time. Considering the situation of our country, the way everybody is busy giving everything a communal angle and proclaiming themselves as Hindu, or a muslim first, or even regional angle saying North Indian, south Indian, east Indians. I don't know about other countries but Being so diversed India certainly needs this. And we need this on a platform, like movie theatres where you get to see every status of people to remind them that we are one. If not movie theatres then do tell where?

According to me theater's mein national anthem play nahi hona chahiye because log waha entertain hone jaate hai, relax karne jaate hai, apne family and friends ke saath achha waqt beetane jaate hai, patriotic hone nahi. Bro first of all its very important to play national anthem before any movie or video because it gives the people a feeling of unity, so its main agenda is to consciously remind every single person who is going to watch the movie have a thought of union among people that 'We are all the one' BECAUSE most people's thought process gets entangled at the end of the movie. So this kind of simple act of singing brings lots of diffrence. AS faar as concerned with govt officials office i strongly condemn to impose compulsory singing of national athem daily morning. (There are also physcological effects observed ,concerned to human subject)

Yeah i do agree with you, we use to stand daily in school time for national anthem but why can't govt employees do the same. There are several rooms and departments in govt office. Its not as easy as theatre. Also in govt offices, not everyone gather together before start working. Y it is so hard to show some respect towards our National Anthem?
It's not a forced patriotism, it's a way to explore patriotism, and it's a choice for older and unhealthy ppl to not to stand in theatre while national anthem, so it's not a big deal don't try to make it a complicated topic.
I am an engineer student of a private college. My girlfriend is in a government engineering college. Sometimes the respected dean of our college arranges assembly and we all sing national song. But not such thing happened once in her college, although it is a government college.

I am from an Army family. It's true forceful patriotism isn't patriotism. And it doesn't makes sense to play our national anthem before playing an adult movie or any movie which got nothing to do with our nation in the theatres.

There's nothing wrong playing National Anthem in theatre's. As comman people don't get a chance to listen to National Anthem, it is a good practice to play it before movies. And people who can't standup because of disability should be excused from this..... Now its responsibility of others in theatre to first understand if the person seating has any physical issues or not and then react.

National Anthem should to be played every those places where there is group gathering for any reason, so theatre is one of those mass gathering social place. And also I agree that those places of government job or even private job area every morning before the start of day national anthem shall be played. And I really feel united wherever we all stand together with national anthem song at any places.

National Anthem should be played in an organised manner where people are well informed and ready for anthem, like school and college assemblies. In Cinemas people may be drunk, disabled or sick who may be able to pay respect to National Anthem. So playing Anthem in Cinemas should be forbidden.
It's for the kids and youth to know what national anthem means for the sense of unity cause theatres are one of the important place...so u can't directly say it's wrong...
