If thats fun, I dont know what you on buddy, but that aint basketball. If you WANT to have fun you go to NBA 2K PLAYGROUNDS, or NBA Street games. THOSE ARE FUN. But in nba 2k you go to try to feel realistic experience of playing basketball. Last game which represented that feeling was nba 2k19. In fact 2k14 (Consoles version); 2k15 (not really but animations were well made, gameplay was very stiffy but animations smoothed bad experience making it good); 2k16; 2k19; Kinda 2k20. Those are last great nba 2k games. 4 LAST YEARS THEY HAVE BEEN SUCKING MONEY OFF A KOBE'S DEATH. TRIBUTE, DLC, PRE ORDERS, GOLD EDITIONS. Yet gameplay worse each year.

Ik this might sound weird but it’s 100% true. The reason you were missing with Curry, Starks and the shooters that had high ratings but was making with lower 3pt rated players like Gerald Green, Bradley is all because of their jumpshot animations. Specifically the “base” animations, some are just more cheese than others
I’ll never forget when my friend bought this game and a ps4 when the console was still new and going over to his place to play it for the first time, I couldn’t get off the game
The thing about NBA2K14’s shooting is, badges, spacing, and hot spots matter; not just the shot quality and shot release. Shot creating is also key, along with creating in each player’s specific hot spots. Once you understand the game’s mechanics, the makes and misses make sense the majority of the time.
“Greens” weren’t a thing back then. Nothing was guaranteed, so you were really encouraged to take the best shots possible. 2k should revisit some of their notes
my thing with the greening in this game is, it is WAY, and i mean WAY too easy to green your shot, the shot timing is set to where there are 5000 cues to shoot your shot, and another thing to mention, this was made in 2013 if im not mistaken, so the idea that you could be a shooting threat from wherever and shoot 20/20 from the field wasn't a concept, which forces you to finish at the rim as well, which is also one of my favorite parts of the game
Maaaan we beyond spoiled with this new shooting nowadays. The cheese heads think it’s skill doing the slimiest shit and because they know their players release they get bailed out for it essentially because…they timed it right. It’s basketball, you can have an open shot and like he said it feels good but shit sometimes you’ll even airball. I’ve grown to truly dislike automatic makes for greens. It’s not sim at all it’s arcade.
Fun fact: You could just hold the shoot button literally until way after the ball was released on threes playing online to hit shots whether the release text was Excellent or not. Made a killing off that back in the day driving and kicking
Editing is really impressive. 2k15 is my favorite of PS4 gen to play but 2k14 is close and probably better to look at. I really think it got slower and less impressive graphically after, this had to be the biggest jump in a long time. I just need a shot meter as a crutch plus 14 is a bit too fast (not to mention stripped features from Association to MyGM) or it would rival 15 for me.
used to play this game hours on end, would create 99 overall team and just abuse any team, remember once scoring over 65 pointd with Moses on hall of fame,i would legit play 10 minute quater games all the time
This was my first 2k after 2k5 with ben Wallace on the cover . PlayStation gave it away with ps plus on ps3 and I instantly fell in love with this game . I liked 2k15 also but after 2k20 I stopped buying 2k due to the greed of the devs . I was noticing they went from you being able to earn a decent amount of vc to forcing you to buy vc
I never played nba 2k14 but i did listen to the soundtrack and its fire and my favorite song from 2k14 is Drake started from the bottom also thats when he was in his prime
This game is made to play inside the paint and shoot mid range if you think you gone hit 20 3s a game your fooling yourself that was not the era this was before Steph curry prime
I think you should miss greens the fact there’s a perfect shot people can abuse is crazy why the game feels flat now of days everyone is a shooter and play maker it’s just boring at this point point
