They're taking state and city tax money. Therefore, a guy who lives in Arizona isn't paying for stadiums in Kansas City. Sunday Ticket doesn't help you get games from your own state or city; instead, it helps you get games from other areas.
@tucker_1776
@tucker_1776 14 дней назад
@@Willtellthetruth Wrong. There is a sales tax in KC of 3/8s cent on sales in Jackson County. Therefore, an individual that resides in Arizona could potentially be paying for the stadium if they are visiting. Each team does have different ways of getting it paid for. The point is that these billionaires should pay for their own stadiums.

@@mml3140 there would be plenty of full package purchases. Ever been to a sports bar? All of them would still purchase it. There is a good portion of ad revenue coming from local companies. If more viewers watch through Sunday Ticket, there is less incentive for those local companies to buy ads. That said, there are ways around this that I’m sure these companies can figure it out. If you are watching a CBS broadcast game, have a local commercial time slot that shows a local company for wherever you are watching from. They are paying billions for this, invest some into getting the technology.

The likely consequences of an NFL loss are either: no more Sunday Ticket (and probably no more RedZone; you're stuck with the CBS/Fox games on Sunday afternoon) or we perhaps see individual out-of-market games offered at $25 or so a game as pay-per-view (so you could get the dozen or so games a year for a single team that aren't national or on your local CBS/Fox affiliate for less than the full Sunday Ticket). The collective selling of the broadcast rights is explicitly defined as "not an antitrust violation" by act of Congress (the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961), so a loss won't return rights to the teams (unless somehow the plaintiffs manage to get the Supreme Court to rule that the '61 act is unconstitutional), as was the case before the early 60s.
@mcw117
@mcw117 15 дней назад
My fear is that this will result in the games not being exclusive to Fox and CBS and we end up with games on Bally Sports or NESN etc. Teams selling their own rights results in what we see with MLB and NBA. A mess. Not to mention blackout chaos. Keeping them on 2 networks results in high quality production of every game.

Instead of single teams, it should be division packages. With single teams, there are going to be 6-10 teams that are not going to sell their seasonal pass. At least not beyond their hardcore fan base. With divisional package you can ensure at least one of those four teams is going to sell nationally (ex: Dallas for the NFC East, 49ers for NFC West, KC for AFC West etc.) And then the NFL can sell divisions to 8 different providers. CBS, NBC, ABC, ESPN, Amazon, RU-vid, Netflix, Apple.

I love the idea of being able to watch any team's off market game. It's 2024. We should be able to watch a stream of whatever game is playing that day! As a Chargers fan that had lived all over the US. It's really hard to watch the team I love, I would gladly pay like $200/$300 to watch, HD, stream all season.

Right because they charge the US so much they can afford to make it cheaper for Europe. Also if they charged more enough Europeans wouldn't care to buy it so they did the analysis that that price is the correct price for Europe. While the primary market in the US pays 460

As a boy growing up in Cincinnati during the big red machine era. I went for free to every kid glove game. Went with my Family a dozen times a year. It would cost my Dad about 50$ for all 5 of us to go. Today if I were to take my kids it would cost around 600-1000$ depending on seats. How can a family afford that.

The way the NFL counters this lawsuit, is to have standalone games throughout the week. You can have an early Sunday morning game in Europe. 4 Sunday 1 pm games + 4 Sunday 4 pm games. + Sunday prime time (10 games). 2 Monday night games 1 Tuesday night game 1 Wednesday night game 1 Thursday night game 1 Friday night game Bye weeks would simply reduce the Sunday afternoon games by 1,2 or 3 games.

The NFL broadcast strategy is the last stand for appointment television. The more difficult it is to get, the higher the demand. That's one of the reasons why the NFL is the most coveted property in television history. Nothing comes close. Stop trying to make things fair. Let the league dominate, and the residual effect is better entertainment. The music and the movie business opened this pandora's box and have never recovered. You can't allow people access to anything they want all the time. It's killing the overall product.

and if you go to a live game you sit there waiting for the game to be played because all the TV folks go to commercials so out runs the guy with Big Orange gloves on the field and the fans know its a commercial break dont matte rif its raining or freezing You sit there sometime for 10 minutes before they start playing again and god forbid the challenge flag happens shit gets real funny at the game when that happens because it is a Rigged games pure and simple the refs toss flags to Adjust the game no other reason at all the challenge flags and commercial breaks are now so the Gambling odds can be adjusted for Max winning for the NFL and its gambling Partners any NFL game can appear to be in the bag at half Time and can be changed in literally seconds with just a few flags and a challenge flag and a commercial break or a Injury time out its all fixed , and we all have seen it happen dozens of times in recent years it is almost hard not to see it they so Blatent now , yet we know it is and we still watch it
