@@ethantravis8378bro is it just me or are they low key building to that?? If this was the Wwe of 2004 let’s say that’s definitely the match we’d be getting eventually.. I don’t have faith in the current day Wwe to deliver something like that though
@@LG215xI would love that Nick is fantastic on the mic and he Carries that sense of importance with his character that I think that perfectly goes against what Roman stands for
That's absolutely true. Nobody was watching NWA matches back then and Nick was the only one keeping them alive. It's hard to believe the NWA was once bigger than the WWF
Before Crockett and Vince started expanding their promotions, the NWA was basically an alliance of every state’s territory - it was far bigger than the WWF ever was.
Crazy when i see the comparisons to his run in the NWA with Roman’s in the WWE…he’s a gem, I hope the younger generation learns to the appreciate his talents and contributions to all of sports wrestling entertainment
He took care of the people closest to him so God made aure to take care of him and now the man is an authority figure on essentially WWE's flagship show and gets to have a segment every week with not only the entire roster but Roman Reigns and he doesn't have to take a single bump, also they have him as a badass who doesn't take no shit from anyone. He's also a producer for WWE as well and helps choreography with the matches Best decision ever made
He should've said general manager, not manager if he knows the difference. Completely different things. Aldis and pierce are GMs, Heyman is a manager. @@Belikecass
Now he's getting loads of screen time on the biggest traveling live show on the planet. I'd say things worked out pretty well for Nick Aldis. I just hope to see him get in the ring at some point in WWE because as far as I know he's still very capable.
I think at some point they'll have him wrestle, I think he's inserted into the GM part to have something for him to do until they can find a place for him in ring
@@dwightyboy5324i feel like the WWE are already working out what will lead him to return to the ring. I feel that when Reigns loses the title, at some point later on this year, Aldis will enter a feud with Reigns that will lead Aldis to wrestle again.
I was such a HUGE fan of the NWA when it first debuted. The "Into the Fire" days were something special. The pandemic screwed it up and it was never the same. But then when they finally came back it wasn't on RU-vid anymore which really hurt them.
NWA has been around for a long time. WCW spawned from NWA Crockett Promotions. TNA started as NWA: Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. It goes back to the territory days of wrestling. It has an amazing history and it is sad to see it do bingo halls today.
Actually, you are correct. NWA debuted as a singular promotion in 2019 with Into the fire. I never heard of Into the fire cause I have not watched TNA in many years. I did not know they no longer do territory style.
Let’s see: be a general manager of Smackdown where it could lead to an in-ring career or go to AEW and end up in a group. I think he made the right decision.
AEW, the place where people would actually know his name vs now where he has to be a GM so people are more familiar with him before he wrestles and has no clout from beforehand with less leverage. He could've gone the Cody route, having been known through an AEW run then leaving to WWE with an already known name and could walk in for the audience to buy that he's a top talent. Would probably make much more, too because WWE would pay a premium to swoop someone from under AEW's nose like they did Jade Cargill.
@@imaratspalHe’s still getting paid a premium in wwe since he’s a prominent role on their biggest program. He’s also 37 and a veteran, I’m sure his body is appreciating the rest he’s getting while also getting paid to be on national television. He’ll be back in the ring wrestling in a safer work environment while getting paid more money to do so.
@@imaratspalno. Hes getting more exposure in wwe, off the bat he was in a segment with HHH and their most hated heel at the time Dom Mysterio and now hes a prominent figure on their show that brings in the most ratings, in a feud with Roman reigns. That alone is better than whatever tony had planned for him by a mile
Now he's one of the best managers I've seen & the anticipation is building for his first match. He's saving his body & making tons of money. it's a win win.
He will more then likely be back in the ring sometime this year and more then likely it will be against Reigns. You can kind of see the WWE building to that, through the exchanges between him and Reigns weekly on Smackdown. Once Reigns loses the title, he will blame Aldis for it, thus leading to a feud.
Nick Aldis is the only wrestler I've ever met. He was doing hisnother job as one of the UK Gladiators and did a fun day at my school. I walked past all the other gladiators and went "when are you going back to TNA?" He said "soon" and I said "cool." It was a good day
I had no idea he did _Gladiators_ after he was already in TNA! I thought he'd left it behind before he ever started his high-level pro wrestling career.
I really liked their connection and storyline with Thom Latimer (he was called Bram there) in TNA Moreover, Bram in TNA was such an interesting character. It's so unfortunate that his personal problems got him off from there
Yeah, i wasn't a fan of that Roman gladiator gimmick he debuted in TNA with, but it's been apparent since perry early on in his career that Nick the man is a straight up good dude. It's important, 8 think, for a good percentage of the wrestling fanbase, to realize that the person and the character are two different things
I’m loving his character as the GM in WWE. They’ll definitely make a storyline with him, where he can wrestle again. Maybe with Randy Orton. Since Randy already paid double the fine lol
Is there some contractual ban on WWE wrestlers not being able to say AEW? It's always the “other company”, “that side”, “the competition.” Really weird rule if true
He’s not wrong. A lot of great talent went from NWA to AEW - most notably Thunder Rosa and Ricky Starks - and it would’ve been a bad look if their champion followed suit
Worked out well . Hopefully they reward his choice beyond kayfane gm , which he is killing it. He can take the HHH torch and be a authority, participation in ring competition, better than VKM, but as respect to HHH
I see him becoming in ring in WWE and regal being smackdown GM. Him versus Randy I believe will be his first introduction to WWE in ring work. I hope at least
He was exactly what the NWA needed. But he doesn't need the NWA. Smooth interviews, always dressed to impress. Always made it a point to link the modern incarnation with the glory days of the old NWA. Hard to believe they had Eli Drake and Nick Aldis but did nothing.
I always did like this guy and now I know he's what gallows and Anderson would call a real good brother out of character too. And I'm the end both of WWEs main roster general managers are former NWA world heavyweight champs. Ah Vince... Hehehe
Really baffles me how long it took for wwe to sign him. Nick Aldis literally has wwe written al over him. What I mean by that is he wrestles the way wwe likes their wrestlers to wrestle, he sells great, and he tells a story in his matches. He is also good at promos and he has the looks and size.
Idk how I hated Magnus but love Nick Aldis 🤦🏾♂️ his NWA stuff was great and I'm wanting to see what he ends up doing with WWE, but you do wonder what would have happened had he went to AEW or back to Impact
I've really enjoyed watching him as the GM on Smackdown. I can't see him doing it forever, I just don't see a way that triple h doesn't figure out a way to get him involved and back in the ring. He seems to be getting over every week more and more with the crowd and I think that'll help him in the long run
It would be very easy to write Nick into an in-ring position. They already have the seeds planted. Rock kicks Roman's ass at Chamber. Cody kicks Roman's ass at Mania. Orton kicks Roman's ass at the next PPV. Knight kicks Roman's ass at the next. Maybe AJ kicks Roman's ass at some point. Jey comes back to get revenge on Roman at some point. Maybe Sami does too. Basically have Roman go on a Karma Revenge Tour where he gets his ass kicked over and over again for the crap he pulled with the Bloodline. All the while, he keeps blaming Nick for all of it because Nick is the one making the matches. Eventually it boils over and Roman goes after Nick and "forces him out of retirement." This all leads to Roman vs Nick - Loser Leaves Smackdown Match at Wrestlemania. Triple H adds the stipulation that if Nick accepts his match, he can, never again (at least for the foreseeable future) be in a position of authority in WWE. Nick accepts and wins. Roman goes on break and Nick starts his in-ring WWE career. Triple H appoints a new Smackdown GM. Roman shows up on RAW some months later, like maybe a return at Summerslam or Survivor Series. And if Trips wants to parlay this into a great feud with a spicy pay-off, have Adam Pearce attempt to interfere in Nick's match at Mania. Then have Trips "punish" Adam for his transgression by "firing" him from his position as RAW GM. This leads into the big Nick Aldis vs Adam Pearce feud, bringing Adam Pearce to Smackdown. Basically trade Adam for Roman. So you get the in-ring returns of both Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce. That is IF Adam wants to come out of retirement. Given the fact that Adam is actually a WWE Executive, he may not want to. Still, I could see him coming out of retirement for "one more match" with Nick Aldis as a way to write him off TV to allow him to better focus on his actual job. It would give the WWE Universe their one and only chance to see Adam in action, it might scratch an itch for Adam (if he even has that wrestling itch at this point), it gives Adam a great exit from a TV persona, and he puts Nick Aldis over on his way out to help Nick solidify his in-ring WWE career. It's a Win-Win.
@@wakefromtheabyss6778 I actually work in the accounts office for AEW. I see the writing on the wall, we're not going to be around in the next 3 years if things don't change!
How was staying in a dying company he was at odds with on his way out, which people barely saw the best decision as opposed to being on AEW which was on TV and was selling 6-figure buyrate PPVs? No one was watching NWA once they got off RU-vid and RU-vid wasn't making them money. The exposure of AEW got Cody more over when he went to WWE. Cody could walk in and become a main eventer. WWE fans don't know Nick Aldis. If he was in AEW and then went to WWE, he'd be more than a GM.
He seems like a good dude, and I hope he continues to obtain success in his role with WWE. Also, salute to him for being married to Mickie James. She’s a baddie!
