@@mateuszpitala9458 It's not inconsistent with what I said. China is a developing country and is certainly not as developed as the West in general. Don’t just mention Japan and South Korea. Poland, Romania, and the Czech Republic are also developed countries in the West. Go to these countries at the same time, then go to China, and then compare the modernization
@@huas5350 I can distinguish a developed country from a developing one very well, don't forget that China is still a developing country and the USA is a developed country and it is also worth noting that China stole Western technologies
@@phamkhoa0105it is. It took China 5 years to make machinery to produce balls of pens precise and fast. This was famous news. Our tech is very sophisticated. Other countries spend decades developing technology. The reason why it took China such a few years is cuz they stole it. Everyone knows it and has proved it. If you wanna see how developing modern weapons for a new country looks like, read about India's developments. Slowly developing each technology and removing foreign parts one by one. Unlike China who just unveiled a new jet like a gift.
Waiting for the day a J-20 gets the Foxbat history, mimicking a MiG-25 Foxbat pilot defected from the USSR, wherein US found out that the fighter they were afraid of actually turned out to be bollocks and the jet they've built against it was overpowered in every single way.
Yeah but they marketed it to the rest of the world as a fighter rather than an interceptor, which is why it scared the U.S so bad because it could “supposedly” do all these super advanced maneuvers and was incredibly fast. In response the U.S developed the most dominant combat fighter known to man, the 104-0 F-15
My concern as a buyer would not necessarily be the quality - not everything the Chinese make is dubious quality and made from chinesium - but what little tricks might be hidden in the electronics to spy on the user or maybe even sabotage military activity.
I've worked in China setting up a production line for a joint venture, consistency is the greatest problem in Chinese production. Truthful documentation of processes is impossible due to culture, you'll have days of inferior production quality without noticing, it's a quality control nightmare.
@@marcusott2973 Hong Kong used to be great fun (before we gave it back). Visit a product supplier and inspect the goods: no problem; ask to see the factory, and suddenly their command of English (previously excellent) fails completely, and they cannot understand what you are asking.
Generally speaking if it requires strict tolerances in machining. China is behind a lot of countries in that. They are trying to modernize and upgrade but this lack of machining to a strict tolerance in mass means they cut corners when trying to produce large numbers. They also lack ingenuity and instead go for intellectual property theft or licensing friendly countries stuff to make their own.
I’ve never even had good luck with Chinese screwdrivers. If I was in the market for a fighter jet, a Made in China one wouldn’t even cross my mind. Forget it.
Sweden makes excellent jets, often ahead of their time, and countries aren't lining up to buy them. There are a lot of political factors in aircraft purchases. For example, America has several very large scale aircraft manufacturers. If a foreign made aircraft won competition and was selected by the U.S. military, severe public criticism would occur. That situation probably exists for many weapon systems.
This argument, that is true for the US, hardly applies to all the smaller countries out in the world market for military jets. There is no domestic competition in Malaysia, Vietnam, Switzerland, UAE, Iraq, Jordan, Venezuela… you get the point. They still aren’t buying from China. Go figure.
One of the most important factors regarding any military system is ensuring ongoing and quick support for it. If it's adopted at its home country, if it has other clients who demand service and can become a third party supplier, how much is the foreign government likely to deny you service due to a political conflict (either directly or through sanctions), and how much you can support it locally. Plus - on a personal level - no one making purchasing decisions wants to be the guinea pig.
inflation + mainstreamed production line means the F16 isn't that far or is cheaper than the f15. same with the F35, it is now cheaper to make the F35 than to make F16s because we changed production
Yeah agree but with that said at least you know it’s going to work as advertised! What’s the point of spending half as much on more but what’s the point if it’s all junk and useless!
The f-16 of 2024 is much MUCH different than the f-16 of 2003. The electronics alone and larger more utilitarian weapons package is a large reason for the increase in cost. Yes of course inflation and cost of NATO labor has a large piece of the pie too. But the tech in that plane nowadays is scary.
I worked for an aircraft company. We had certain airframes that Came from a chinese outsource manufacturer. The fit and finish and quality Of their work. Was so shotty, nearly Every airframe had to have some kind of major repair. It ended up being more costly to have a chinese manufacturer.
It’s terrible part is that China now has the engineering and manufacturing capability to produce those. That company probably spent tens of millions to develop their air frame and while China may make low quality now it will lead to them producing high-quality air frames with zero investment in development. Companies that used Chinese manufacturing to are responsible for trillions and economic losses for the United States. GE was the largest company in the world before they started manufacturing in China.
@the_manofculture oh yeah? Who would ever believe that the quality of cheap Chinese military technology and other goods are bad?.....Oh yeah, literally everyone who doesn't live in China 😂 Don't worry, I'm sure some African warlords will still buy peak Chinese war machine: Toyotas... Oh wait, nevermind that's not Chinese either 🤣🤣🤣
This is because China wants to give us scrappy airplane parts, thinking that we are dumb and will assemble an airplane with scrappy parts 😂😂 nope lol we have the most dominate airforce, navy and personnel. We are smart, not dumb 😂
naaah to me it's real simple! if you have the steal the specs in order to "create" a fighter jets, it follows logic that you probably really don't understand what it is your doing, cause if you did.. you wouldn't need to steal specs!
reverse engineering is not advanced tech knowledge at all. copying what other do makes nobody special or relevant. the world doesnt need countries like north korea china and russia. covid missed about 2 billion absolutely worthless people in 2020
I think that’s a good point but I think in a different way. It’s whenever the countries that have had their specs stolen and reverse engineered suddenly do home grown upgrades that they roll out to their models and customers. The Chinese logistics chain then have to either steal the new specs again or somehow parallel engineer it. Buyers may be wary of that. Give the Russians credit. They also have a much better track record of coming up with their own technologies.
How to put this, the US spends gobs of money and is pretty much always actively deployed somewhere. If this is a good use of resources can be debated, but it does generally result in a well equipped force with pratical experience.
it's true, looking at China, their army is inexperienced, training is poor and there is also corruption in the Chinese army, China resembles Russia because promotions to positions in China are mainly due to loyalty to the Chinese party and also the navy, poor technology like the land army, lack of nuclear-powered ships and smaller ships, i.e. mainly tonnage and this works to the advantage of the USA, so the USA continues to develop its economy, the military and technologies are developing rapidly in the USA, China mainly has an economic problem, reminiscent of Japan in the 1980s, but I think positively about the USA because I am an optimist, but not everyone can be pessimistic, but that's their business as the US thinks
you can't be any more wrong though..... China has the best marching experience of any country. Their soldiers display an unprecidented 0 fatalities/parade. The problem with Turkey is that it is a NATO member. When they joined NATO, we did not have sophisticated communications networks, so it was possible to purchase cheaper planes from Russia and China, but now the requirements for NATO have been significantly updated for hive capabilities. With an F-35, you can purchase the soon to be available drone wingman that will keep up with the F-35 for much cheaper. 1 F-35 will be able to control something like 4 drone wingman aircraft. This reduces costs by only requiring 1 pilot for 5 planes all capable of shooting down targets in a coordinated strike. You can also send the drones up ahead to protect the main command control. From what I read, these drones will have an automatic switchover to another nearby F-35 in the event that the assigned F-35 goes down. Drones will be the future. Hive networks are the future. With the network being put into place, even tanks, aircraft carriers, and AWACs in the area will be able to see all and control all.

Another major concern has been the quality of a lot of Chinese jets, especially when it comes to operational use. @@user-vn6je8zw9l My apologies for this delayed response. However, Myanmar has already reported multiple operational difficulties with their JF-17s, and before the current civil war flared up, they were talking about returning the jets, with Pakistan sending technical personnel to look at the issues. The Bangladeshi, and Pakistani armed forces also bought fighter jets from China (and several other military items). Both of them have had several crashes, and they’ve both tried to return the aircraft they purchased. However, the CPC wouldn’t accept the return of any aircraft, or any of the other military items they’d purchased that ended up being defective. That’s the problem with the Belt and Road Initiative! In the long term, the projects that are made by the Chinese usually end up failing, whether they worked on military equipment, or dams, airports, ghost cities (in countries other than China), etc… They also usually end up stealing resources from whatever country they do projects for. When they built the headquarters for the African Union, they bugged the whole building so they could learn ‘state secrets’. Five years later it was discovered. The CPC denied bugging the building🤷♀️

Who would buy their over rated "fighters" when their CCP government are bullying their neighbors and potential clients? Now this is from real experience in the mining industry. They can't even make dependable mining equipment! Yes their equipment are cheaper than European or American equipment but they cost more in the long run because they took to long to install, double or triple the maintenance cost because the parts break and wear faster, unsatisfactory after sales support, incomprehensible (but hilariously funny chinglish) manuals and sometimes non-existing maintenance manuals, etc. The disadvantages of buying chinese equipment that costs millions of dollars are too long to list. Well maybe some would if the chinese grease the palms of the client government's officials and generals with kickbacks 🤣

Sales also have to come with technical support from the seller. I’m pretty sure our packages come with advisors, mechanics and tons of support behind the product. I can’t imagine the Chinese could even do this.
Saw something where countries that bought their jets in the last decade decided to swap out for French or U.S. made jets. I'm guessing they seemed cheap at first, but there are issues with the engines in terms of maintenance or even requiring replacement. They even went for used aircraft from other countries to replace those, so that may be a tell.
I don't know where you heard that the USA has problems with engines, but China certainly has problems with its metallurgy, copying from abroad and poor quality and technology.
Define modern. They have some decent engineering talent, but they don’t get the greatest training at Chinese universities. I’d say they have improved a lot, but they are still way behind. Fourth Gen? No problem, though we are talking mid Fourth Gen, with worse quality problems than Boeing.
Have you ever considered that China isn't trying to sell their jets? China generally doesn't warmonger as much as the US does. How many times has China been to war in the last 50 years? Now how many times has the US been at war?

Affordable new jets like the KAI FA-50 Golden Eagle, Textron Scorpion, and Boeing-Saab T-7 Red Hawk are missing from the cheap new planes that are being ordered today. They can be used for general patrol and training. Even though they have a T designation, they can be used beyond just training. The US is replacing the T-38 with the T-7 Red Hawk, but I am sure it will also be replacing the F-5 and F-20 with either the T-7 or T-50. The FA-50 has the GE 414 engine and the ability to do Mach 1.5.
Has anyone ever read; "Made in China" and thought of quality? We usually know that "Made in China" = "Crap". Sorry, just a fact. I bought a competition air riffle for example. This is not just a pellet gun, this is used in competitions for money. I thought I would save and buy direct from China. It had a scope, and I went to sight it in. I have medals from the US Navy/Marine Corps for "Sharp Shoot pistol" and "Expert Riffle", okay? I am not claiming to be a pro sniper, but I think I hold my own and maybe a little bit of the other guys when it comes to target shooting. Now the gun. I sent hours shooting targets, adjusting, and shooting and adjusting. I was embarrassed at first when the 1st 7 shots missed the target completely. I had no idea which way to adjust. SO I moved closer, and I did this 3x until I made it stupid close and was standing just a few feet from the target. Turns out there is no amount of adjustment in that scope that could bring the crosshairs onto the target. Took some research but found out that the hole bored down the barrel, inside of the gun itself was at an angle so from less than 10 feet from a target, I could not hit the target. or maybe at 10 feet I think I started to hit the target and found it was WAYYYYYY left and high (from just 10 feet). Again, I am no armature and I had to just throw that POS away. an old red rider BB gun would easily outperform the Chinese competition air rifle by leaps and bounds and then some. So, this is what "Made in China" means. Thier vary best wasn't as good - could not come close to an American toy version in real life. So, am I surprised when you say they aren't making quality stuff? Ask China how to come they aren't speaking Japanese right now? They got their azzes handed to them by Japan until the US saved them. So, China, if you're reading this, you're welcome, now give the land back to Tiawan as it was theirs first, before your good buddy Russia leaves you standing there alone holding the bag. If you aren't aware, competition Air Rifle is an Olympic event.

Russia become "Unpopular" is a new thing. Before 2014 Russia is a very "Popular" country with wide range customer. After the annexation of Crimea and lists of sanction from the western countries, it's popularity slowly declined. The major hit is after the US passed the CAATSA which made the country who didn't want to upset the US completely avoided Russia weapons included it's fighter jets. And, after Russia invasion of Ukraine, the sales is completely stopped, they needed it for their own war after all.
I suspect this whole situation has changed since the invasion of Ukraine. Russian must have now agreed to transfer the technologies, engines know-how, other favorable terms to China so China may give Russia a lifeline.

Turkey: I want to buy missiles from China. US: If you do so, “We” will unfriend you on Facebook and talk behind your back. Turkey: But why? US: Because I don't like it.
Russia is going to soon become a military equipment buyer, not seller. They need a lot of money just to recover what they lost in Ukraine and the Black Sea.
The US has a lot more than 1800 fighters. That is just the number in the USAF, you also need to include the fighters in the US Navy and the Marine Corps. That brings the total to nearly 3000.
I'm old enough to remember back in the 70s it was common to hear Japanese cars are crap. Then a few dacades later the claim was it was South Korean cars were garbage. And then the claim was the Chinese could never compete. Now China's EV's industry is so dominant the American government had to slap a 100 percent tarrif because American car companies can't compete. The US military and economy is still currently ahead but at China's current rate of technological development it's only a matter of time both China's economy and military surpasses it. it's entire plausible by the end of the century China will more than twice the size of the US economy. Those mocking China are sort of like an old heavyweight champ boxer cockily mocking an up and coming young Mike Tyson. They have no clue whats going on.
Probably because they don't have a lot of close military allies. Most of their relationships are more multi-faceted and operate on a sector-by-sector basis. The US has a small army of countries that are basically aligned with it economically, politically, militarily and culturally. China's approach to foreign policy is a bit more business-like. Pakistan, for example, gets most of their flagship systems from China, despite nominally being a US ally. Tanks, fighter planes, ships, etc. Buying a modern, advanced fighter jet ties you very strongly to the country for resupply and even technical expertise. Members of the F35 program send their pilots to the US to train, and the US is very secretive about the inner workings of that plane, even to their partners. Most of China's relationships really aren't like that.
Except the development of the Arjun tank is still a joke. After decades of investment, there is still nothing to show. The Tejas aircraft uses American bought engines. And they even use designs licensed from the Russians for simple things like firearms. It will still be 30-50 years for india to properly develop a MIC, and thats IF corruption doesn’t hinder efforts.
