You can do whatever you want! But there’s a reason that the colors selected are on this palette: they work well together. If you add more colors you’re going to throw off that balance.
THE PALETTE IS HARMONIOUS
When you add more colors you are altering the overall unity and making it more complicated to achieve a harmonious result.
WILL THIS PALETTE MAKE YOU BETTER?
Probably, but it’s certainly not guaranteed. You’re not going to suddenly turn into Apelles just because you use this palette. However, I think it offers the simplest path to the reach the absolute best results possible. So why make the path more complicated for yourself?
