That drug issue is really big and serious issue. problem is that our generation thinks that it's cool and makes you dude , macho if you have heavy capacity of addiction. And when doctors are doing drugs , smoking and all this shit....it makes huge impact on general population yrr and carry a wrong message that "in sab se kuch nahi hota" .

Well.. I am general surgeon... Have done mbbs from medical college kolkata.... N i think it was a very big mistake... So aiims delhi or whatever... I will suggest... Forget college ranking... In mbbs it doesnt matter n sense... Ranking critaria is not based on mbbs life.... Choose... College near to ur home... Food n language matters a lot.... N if possible choose new college... College study doesnt matter these day... U have have online platform to study... Just see the hostel n college library of that college.... Hostel life matters most.. New hostel.... Two person best in a room... Food matters.... 24/7 library... Reading room matters... Work culture matters.... N city life.... Baki ranking n sb bakwaas h... Afmc top rank.... Jo log wahan se mbbs kiye un se poocho.. Kya chal rha h... Life mn... The pain they have... Pg matters these days n that is the hard truth in my opinion mbbs from vmmc is better than aiims... U have internal quota.... U will have pg... Delhi life... Better hostel than aiims... N awsum work culture... Better h.... Life ko jeena n enjoy krna jaroori h.... N pg of ur choice matters... I think its good that there is no internal reservation in AIIMS. There shouldn't be any reservations anywhere except for physically handicapped candidates and the army people. PH candidates have actual drawback and Army people make actual contribution and huge sacrifices for the nation, so they deserve the benefits. Rest all is just politicians mind games for their votebank.

My brother was getting aiims rishikesh and aiims jaipur, but he didn't take it and had to pay the bond money too, but we convinced him to take baba saheb Ambedkar medical college, delhi because he will be living at home and also get IP quota in PG . I think that's the best decision for him!
Internal quota should not be given bcoz so many rural students don't even know about AIIMS during their UG but gradually they learn better and crack PG.

Unfortunately as far as being a doctor is concerned what matters more is your specialty and where you practise much more than your UG college reputation. A 2 y bond at KGMU will make you lag far behind as compared to your peers from the so called less reputed colleges. When they would be on the verge of completion of their MD, you would just be starting your MD preparation. So reputation of KGMU can take a hike. And for a normal non medico, AIIMS tag carries more repute than KGMU.

The kind of environment is very much depressing when u go to the hostel on weekends or evenings. Many doctors(JR/SR) & students have committed suicide from 2002-2010 probably due to work pressure. There was a lot of politics there. I saw students from the 1st prof preparing for US MLE AND PLAB. many AIIMSONIANS have done MBBS, MD/MS, and are now elevated as HOD. On the positive side, I can say there is a complete world inside the AIIMS campus, there is a big BB dixit Library, Gymnasium, swimming pool, grocery shops, photostat shops, tailor shops, barber shop, Cafeteria /Mess, computer shops and is situated in the heart/south Delhi. There was big prestige to become part of the AIIMS. Patients from Bihar/UP come to AIIMS only for its authenticity as they had no faith in their state health care system. with the opening of many AIIMS, I think its uniqueness may have been affected?

Main yeh kehna chahta hoon ki AIIMS Delhi has its share of disadvantages. It’s not all roses. There are thorns too. But the advantages are overwhelming as compared to Disadvantages. It’s the best college but doesn’t mean everything in life is set just because you cracked AIIMS Delhi.

I am confused between kgmu and AIIMS Rishikesh as my rank is 1211 kgmu is states best college and well established at the same time AIIMS Rishikesh has no bond along with its superior technology.

Choose any college without bond > college with bond. Unless bond money is low - let’s say 5-10L which your parents can afford over the next 6 years. So, Avoid UP colleges. Avoid Rajasthan colleges unless it’s SMS Jaipur. Avoid Maharashtra colleges unless it’s Mumbai colleges.

Great no senior and junior discrimination in our college need to call them sir and mams if not they say don't you know how to respect your seniors and records which cannot be spoken of which my batch mates have written at least 3-4 records each and some even 7 in span of 2 days each record....true torture.....and phone calls......
