“…passive scans active.” THAT is an oxymoron! Or a logical contradiction. Or just poor phrasing. Proofread! Revise! There is always room for improvement! AND there only appears to be one audio track - ie, I can only hear it through one earphone - tried two different headsets, both of which work fine.
That is not an oxymoron! On present submarines sensors listen for other ships using SONAR. This listening & the computers the operator is using are an example of passive scans. It lets the sub commander know where & many what kind of ship is sending out the SONAR. Additionally operators on the sub listen for ship/sub screw & other sounds emanating from the water. Just detecting screw info can tell the sub cmdr what kind or ship or other sub is out there, how far away, how fast it's going & what direction it's going. This too is passive scanning.
Except for the garbage AI narrator and obvious lack of editing I lasted through the story. A part 2 would be tolerable as long as it followed this example. Anyone who has come across my comments know that I absolutely hate AI repetitive, monotone drivel and lack of editing. until these stories are up with live readers I will never subscribe.
