Lol it's easy to lecture than ground work. After data collection retailers will file bankruptcy for evade tax. Then what will government do ? First open bank account for everyone then make law heavy penalty and enforcement investigation on physical transaction above 2 lakh. Data will come automatically to central bank. Modi government did this.

P.S. This “expert” hasn’t suggested anything which the average person who understands Economics isn’t aware of. But there aren’t many “average” people in Pakistan…..and unless “solutions” are implemented, improvements cannot be expected.

A healthy economy wouldn’t be subsidising something like fuel, hence why the IMF insists that subsidies are cut on such products. Subsidises should be for public services (public hospitals, public school etc) and maintenance (upkeep of roads, street lighting etc), not for things like fuel or electricity.

@shivang_kumar seriously bank here require pay slip or proof of income source only than they will open the account and transparency is not their even the bank and telecom companies did pay the government taxes for years, even now they are taxing the working class like 200unit electricity 10k PKR but if it's 300+ units 18k pkr

@shivang_kumar problem is the government kept on giving subsidy on electricity petrol when I couldn't us brown people we want free shit and for that we will vote anyone at least you guys voted better politicians then ours.

@shivang_kumar the issue is that IMF told them tax everyone but they aren't taxing the rich like business owners and property owners that day some dry fruit business owner was like government is asking us to install computers to keep book keeping records and he said we all aren't gonna do that cuz they want 30% tax, on top electricity is being subsidies to a point for example if someone uses 100 units for 12 months you pay 7rupees per unit of 200units for 6 months. Problem with that is if you go over by one unit you have to pay 50rupees per unit this including taxes, on top electricity bill is a pass down which includes costs like fuel price adjustment and then of top fuel price adjustment taxes and also the government tv channels also taking 35 rupees per house. But this is with the load shedding, on top my house has 2 fans and fridge and two laptops with water motor and our electricity bill for summer was 225units we aren't rich, and reason for electricity bill going up is also cuz of government load shedding of water supply which we pay monthly bill, load shedding of gas which makes us use microwave, it's like we are stuck in a cycle of doom, I mean they don't have to subsidize anything if they just re do the deals with electrical companies where they have to pay dollar rates.

@shivang_kumar on top no proper way of getting income our minimum wage was set this year to 37000 which is not sustainable you take 1000 rupees to market let talk about simple breakfast bread 250 rupees, 12 eggs 270 , jam bottle 300 , milk 250 ml 75 rupees this 895 total 100 rupees left, at least a person needs 1000 a day for petrol, food because let say you go on work you would need these things. 30000 a month just on food and petrol, bike repair, and electricity bill will be 4000 rupees for 200unit if you have done the 6 months routine, gas bill 1000 35000- this if you have only yourself to feed but if it's a family and your renting your done cuz rent would be 10k to 15k for one person. Which hardly happens

Are you referring to a Wealth Tax? That would be difficult to implement. Instead the plan should be to implement/increase other taxes, be it Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains, Property/Land, Dividends, Corporation Taxes, Employer’s Tax etc. Minimising cash transaction is also essential to ensure that tax avoidance is kept to a minimum and the audit trail will help in determining money laundering activities and preventing organised crime etc.

Incorrect. “Corruption” is a boogey man that has been created to draw attention away from the basic issue, which is that Pakistan produces NOTHING compared to what it consumes. The reason for that is systemic rather than “corruption”.

@@reez1728 government should generate income instead of building their personal bank balance when in government ,its very detailed topic and zakat is not personal in fact Hazrat Abu Bakr ra declared jahad against people who said they won’t give zakat to the state instead will distribute themselves and it was against how Rasool Allah SAW did and zakat is specifically allocated to 8 categories e.g musafir,yateem,qarazdar etc but this government is not even trustworthy

I’m sure you could’ve done it online too. It’s the same here in the UK. Most bank accounts can be opened digitally online (using facial recognition, ID etc) too. Most bank branches are closing down, as there really isn’t the need to have the numbers we previously had. Like the US, we have strict AML (anti money laundering) regulations too, so large amounts of cash cannot be deposited into an account without a lot of scrutiny. This helps minimise illegal tax avoidance and other criminal activities such as organised crime, funding terrorism etc.

Every thing is primitive in Pakistan.
