Look up Operation Backyard Brawl. Is that stuff going on in Arizona true? It's something about some US veterans found a child sex slave camp in southern AZ and now they are supposedly surrounded by the local police department who say nothing is happening at that "camp" and the veterans are saying they have been paid off to ignore the whole thing. But there is no solid evidence on it that i can find because no one reported on it. It's the kind of thing you hope is not true.

What I’m surprised about, with regards to the FBI backflip dude, is that he wasn’t wearing a breakthrough holster. They secure on the top so your weapon doesn’t fly out and you push them forward and down to release them. Almost impossible to unintentionally release your weapon.

Harrison Avera Dude I’m just operating under the assumption that as a trained law enforcement officer that he wouldn’t be THAT much of a jackass and carry a live weapon that loosely. I’m just HOPING the gun was holstered. If it wasn’t, then that’s a whole other level of stupidity that I don’t think I’m prepared to handle. Edit: If the gun fired, I guess the safety _was_ off. I stand corrected - he IS that much of a jackass.

TuttiTunes many law enforcement officers carry a Glock, which only has a trigger safety to prevent the gun from firing when dropped or any time the trigger is not be g pulled. Looks like when he picked up the gun he grabbed it quickly and carelessly pulling the trigger.

If Demi Lovato has been subject to sexual harrassment/assault/abuse, then subjecting someone else to that because they're a man is the textbook definition of a double standard. I am a man. I was sexually assaulted and harrassed when I was a kid, and it altered the course of my life forever. I become intensely uncomfortable around PDA and sex in general. I am 27, a virgin, and never have I been on a date. To the point about dating, I know that sex is a part of a relationship, and so I am not comfortable sharing that baggage with someone and depriving them of a normal aspect of dating. While the assault isn't the primary factor in my decision, it still played a role in it, and even now I have been sexually harrassed (specifically people thought I was gay because I didn't ever date anyone in high school and at work), so people have come up to me and been aggressively demeaning about my feelings on the subject. The world is a fucked up place and for you to do that to your employee (her bodyguard), that's sickening and shameful. Demi Lovato should be ashamed of herself.

As someone who has been around guns for a great deal of his life... I only cringed watching that. I mean, for it to just fall out, that is the first, WTF moment, obv not very well secured. Second thing, is he picked it up like that and it just fired off? No safeties or anything, and he doesn't know how to pick it up without risking firing? WTF! Terrible. And then insult to injury, it goes off, and he just runs fucking out scared, without considering anyone else? Wow. I think this FBI agent should either be canned or demoted to the lowest level possible at this stage for this.

Who said the backflip was the problem? A negligent discharge is a pretty serious thing for military and government employees. (As it should be.) Normally a negligent discharge is not a career ender. It will definitely lead to some serious ass-chewing and a shit-ton of remedial training, and possibly some pay being withheld (for military). However, people *normally* don't get injured because of them (negligent discharges usually happen in a clearing barrel when someone forgets to drop their magazine before clearing their weapon which results in nothing but some sand getting shot and an immediate "OH, SHIT! FUCK MY LIFE!"). I think the charge should be "negligent discharge resulting in serious injury" or something of that nature. It may or may not result in his career being ended. If alcohol was involved he might as well just resign right now, his career is most certainly finished if that is the case. Even if it doesn't end his career it is going to seriously restrict future promotions. Pretty sure he will definitely pay a price and regret that it ever happened.

She knows the guy more than anyone else, I mean, if my lady hired someone to just grab my junk I personally wouldn't feel victimized and probably would think it funny, I understand not everyone has to or should feel this way, but I think it's important to know how the "victim" feels. If they are okay with it I have a hard time calling it abuse or harassment. Do people really want people to like sign legal consent documents and submit them in triplicate to some on-high consent agency before people are allowed to mess with another's squishy bits? I feel like a lot of the reaction to this are just contrarian people trying to make some clever point about male-female double standards without taking all the facts into account.

Is there a double standard for men vs women when it comes to sexual assault? Absolutely. Even when hearing that story I didn’t think sexual assault since I think we are desensitized to believe that a man can be sexually assaulted by a woman. Also, very poorly handled by Demi. As a male im pretty upset with the double standards on sexual assaults. A female from my work smacked me on my bottom as i was leaning over a bench i reported it to my boss and he just laughed and said "are you serious? ...shes hot..she might like you..ask her out.." i told my boss if i had done that to her i would be fired.. nothing was done about it. i told her not to do it again and she told everyone at work i must be gay. I left my job a week later because of the incident. I just wish more could be done for males that have been sexually assaulted at work or anywhere for that matter.

Not only was his gun not secured, it was both loaded while at a civilian gathering and had the safety off given it immediately fired when he squeezed the trigger picking it up. This wasn't negligence, this was reckless endangerment and a dash of malicious wounding with intent to cause harm. He doesn't deserve investigation, he deserves some jail time and a quick boot from the FBI.

Matthew Hills I'm sorry but he even then could have avoid it by simply removing a round from the chamber. If your gun has no manual safety you can very easily not keep the gun ready to shoot so that this exact thing doesn't happen. It's for this reason that I store my shotgun with the forend back and the chamber empty. Yes, you might say but in an emergency XYZ but that doesn't apply to the FBI dude. Really don't think he should go to jail but he should probably be suspended for a bit, no need to ruin his life when other cops get away after killing people purposely and with excessive force.

Yes, a President can pardon himself. He can then be promptly impeached. This is the way in which the rule of law is effected.

He actually can based on a reading of the constitution, however he would almost certainly be impeached immediately, and as it would go against the grain of the intent of the constitution it would then likely cause a constitutional crisis which would end in a new amendment preventing it in the future.

There is no Constitutional crisis because the pardon would never take place, the President is effectively immune from all prosecutions while they are sitting as the head of the Executive branch, the branch responsible for effecting prosecutions. You can't put on trial a sitting President, hell you can't even indict them as they can negate the indictment and it wouldn't be obstruction as the Constitution specifically enables them to do this. First a congressional investigation, which is an investigation completely outside of the Executive branch,, would find the President had committed an impeachable offense. Then impeachment proceedings would happen which is lead by the Legislative branch and overseen by the Judicial branch, again completely outside of the Executives power. After the impeachment the sitting President is removed from office, which negates any and all executive powers they had. Then you can put them on trial for whatever law they violated that caused the impeachment in the first place. That is the proper Constitutionally authorized sequence of events. MSM just relies on most Americans have zero idea about their government.

Einomies is it possibly though that her normal meter has been messed up? She may be desensitised to what is appropriate and what is not, like when abused kids get oversexualised and do and say things that aren’t appropriate. I think she barely understands what happened to her and what it did to her emotionally and she's clearly detached from the feelings of others, in this case her boyfriend. The fact that she understands sexual harrasment as a prank, it's not some "mistake" she made, it's a reflection of her mental state. I wouldn't ask or expect more of her. Somehow we all expect celebrities to be some kind of role model, especially for our kids, when the probability they are messed up human beings -or awful human beings- is really high.

it's not simply bizarre, but it's like a stepping stone to authoritarianism. Because that's literally what's occurring the moment that a country decides that it's leader doesn't actually have to abide by any rules. And that's what the presidents ability to self-pardon would be. It'd be a greenlight for them to do whatever they want without repercussions because they're the president. And this is particularly amusing with Trump because he billed himself during the campaigns being the "law and order" president. Now he's insinuating that he's above that law.

The prez has powers other nations wouldn't dream of offering to their leadership*, and in the past, there has been a latitude to interpret laws conveniently to justify overreach. I doubt people would tolerate it, but US law does seem to be a matter of interpretation often and with political numbers affecting the process. * they regard politicians as clowns - a standard by which a prime minister is just the head clown. The US by comparison affords presidents greatness and, in the past, assumed respect. A nation where people would be instructed by men in lab coats to torture people (milgram experiment) is one with historically weird views about authority.

There is a check for this, though. It's called impeachment. Impeachment is only the first step of a legislative trial, we haven't had a president go through the entire process. The president only has power over investigations done by the executive branch, the legislature can set an investigating committee on it's own, as can the courts, outside the reach of the executive branch like Ken Starr in the Clinton fiasco. If they choose to go the impeachment route this would block Trump from giving himself a blanket pardon because he would not be standing in office to answer each individual item that could be prosecuted, and Trump would have to rely on Pence to give up all his political standing if he asks for Pence to pardon him. It also keeps Trump from pardoning each individual actor in a conspiracy, and Pence would have to carry the burden of responsibility for those. Honestly I think Pence would probably take note of what happened to Ford and wouldn't be as reliable as what would be needed for Trump and company to walk away unscathed.

From a strict reading of the constitution the president can pardon himself. This does not mean however that the House of Representatives and Congress would not get a say afterwords, as Phil mentioned he would almost certainly be impeached and removed from office immediately, followed up by a review of congressional law and a possible amendment and SCOTUS would likely weigh in on the pardon as well and might possibly reverse the pardon based on intent of the constitution rather than base reading.

Demi's "joke" definitely is a problem. But to be honest I'm glad this happened because it made people talk about the issue of sexual assault against men. I think her using her sexual abuse experience to make people "less angry" or whatever she was trying to do is absolutely stupid. A victim would know better than anyone what classifies as assault and the impact these seemingly small stuff can have on a person. Also, the fact that she was a victim doesn't mean she has the right to do something like that.

The idea of a president pardoning themselves is beyond absurd. Even through that vice president switcharoo. It would be making the president be above the law. I also don't agree with letting the president call off FBI investigations without due cause. Using that power for investigations on yourself would have basically the same effect as the pardon but at a much earlier point. And if they have that power with the restriction of "only for others," they could do their crimes by proxy and call off the investigation there.

Being a Nazi is not a protected class. The whole is revolves around discrimination against the couple for being gay which of the decision was opposite would have set precedence. Right now being gay is not a protected class in some states and LGBT groups are trying to gain legislation through federal courts to apply nationally instead of just relying state laws. Gender on the other hand is a protected class which is one way how LGBT groups are trying to make their arguments. SCOTUS decided not to make any precedence and decided that he did not receive a fair and unbiased trial.

Samantha Shell because we don’t believe in the progressive liberal model of government. And I do not mean to be aggressive. Often times I find the more liberal viewpoint is published so often that the conservative is often completely forgotten. And I think he was a result of that. I do not like trump I don’t appreciate him as a man. But a lot of the political changes he has made reflect my “less government” beliefs. I don’t condone everything he does, and I often feel embarrassed he is my leader, but what he has done for my family “middle America” is an enormous load off our shoulders. And thank you for asking.

If a private company can fire a person for their expressed beliefs, this guy shouldn’t be forced to perform a task that doesn’t adhere to his beliefs in his own company. A good example of this is ABC firing Roseanne ( I do not and will never condone anything she does or says. Am not defending her). They can fire her for saying something that doesn’t line up with their beliefs . It’s like asking a Muslim to serve you pork in their establishment and saying your rights are being infringed on because you’re a pork eater. At the end of the day, the baker loses revenue anyway. If you don't believe in eating pork, than you don't have to sell it to anyone. In the case of the cake shop, he provided the service of making cakes. He is refusing to provide his service to one specific customer. That is not the same thing as refusing to provide a service for everyone.

It's a position with checks and balances & limitations already in place, and as such limitations are in place, there is legal justification for the position to be above the law to prevent other external forces from illegitimately remove the president from power. The president's above-the-law can most commonly be limited to 4 years in office, in addition to limitations on the amount of times the powers can be used. Limited veto, limited refusal to sign bills etc etc. It's a system of end-sum-justification, regardless of how bad it may seem on the surface.

They use glock 40’s which don’t have safeties so that law enforcement can engage in a fast manor. It takes a couple seconds longer to take the safety off. This guy was just an idiot

If he doesn't want to serve gay people and you feel strongly about that then don't give that person business or create a business to compete with them. I honestly don't get why people are so hell bent on having the government enforce their point of view when it doesn't need to. Those gay people could have literally gone to thousands of other bakeries instead and just said this baker doesn't like gays and how long do you think that business would have stayed afloat? Instead, using your logic, you would rather have the gay person force the Baker to do something he doesn't want to do while also giving his money to a homophobic Baker, isn't that just degrading to the gay person? bbplayer51 I wish more people would think like you instead of crying to the government to cram down their views. You shouldn't have to patronise a business you don't like just as an owner should have the right to chose who he does business with. Personally I have no problem with gay people, and I feel like most don't, so his business suffers from not taking your money and losing other customers who aren't insanely religious homophobes. Most likely the business fails if the owner does it enough times and people bring attention to it, especially over something as stupid as two dudes getting married . Generally when people are that far dug in the government can't change their mind either it's just forced service and like you said who knows what they might do when forced to serve you. That's free market economics.

Hi Phil, being both Guatemalan and a part of the DeFranco nation, I just wanted to thank you for bringing up this tragedy to your audience. Sadly, the death count is approximately in the 60+ numbers, and there are 3-4 villages that are isolated due to roads being destroyed. Please pray for our country. Also, currently at 10:39 Guatemala time (9:39 PDT) and as I was just watching the news, it seems a few minutes ago there was new volcanic activity, and sadly people are trapped in "ground zero".
