I quit because I found out I'm dying. Honestly, with only 40-50 years left to live, I just didn't think I'd be able to reach max ilvl and raid with the true chads. Pour one out for me when I'm gone boys. 🙏
I playing at my own pace i dont play everyday but i enjoy the game its good graphics and combat is awesome, i got atm one 1355 two almost at t3 and another 2 chars just hit t2, it’s a marathon not a sprint 😅
I quit personally because of the lack of community. It felt like a single player game with other players standing around. There isn’t anything to do during down time when you do your dailies. Nothing to use to chill with people you meet IF you meet any that is. The combat is ridiculously addictive but that also gets stale once you’ve done it enough.
Blows my mind how streamers are unattached from the reality of this game. A game that NEEDS you to make out characters, and do the same shit, everyday on 7 characters to progress lol.; Great game
No, its not. You dont NEED to make characters. It helps you out, but as 99% of the games out there, you HAVE more than 1 character. WoW etc. And you do the same things there too. Its nothing unique I dont understand why people are crying about it. I know people who have 100 characters in certain games and they are NOT COMPLAINING about shit.
I have limited time, so I quit pretty early on. Just didn't seem worth progressing any further after learning what endgame and honing was like. Sounded time consuming (for me) and tedious.
Likewise tbh I played on the russian server along time ago and the upgrades felt much better than the eu release... i reached ilvl570 with a full time job but i quit after watching asmongold getting rekt with honing...
i dont think the game is really time consuming cus you can just do basic daily like chaos gate and i have 4 alts and can do them all in around 2h or little more what is time consuming is everythin else but the thing is you dont have to rush it like your daily
People trying to pull out all these weird reasonings. The games core content just isn't very good. Chaos dungeons are boring and easy, Guardians are scuffed monster hunter and are very boring and tedious. Abyss raids are fun with a coordinated group but you can do them once a week and matchmaking them is a fucking nightmare. Aside from that what does the game offer... pvp is annoying for casuals because it's a sweat fest full of permanent cc and the only other content in the game is mind numbing Island exploration. Games just one massive daily quest simulator you don't login to have fun do a few dungeons or raids with your friends or casual/ranked pvp you just log in to hit a daily check list before logging out.
this that siwu guy telling us were playing it wrong is like telling us we should likedoing chores im above 1370 and i still quitted game is boring period
Lost Ark is one of the few mmos/games I've played that has absolutely no community or any guild bonding/building in it. It's crazy how people can play that game everyday in and out to farm daily/weekly content for materials to gamble hoping to upgrade one piece of gear that week if they are lucky. Dailies can be a chore and side-work, but spending all that time just to gamble away that time you put in as well as all the materials used to 'progress' through the gambling wall, at that point you should evaluate what you're doing with your life and the path of where you are going.
I quit because Lost Ark essentially ripped apart my friend group at 1370+ because of the weekly lockouts being item level gated. We had one guy who needed to go on a business trip, so he was behind at the 1340 range. Turns out, you can't do the weekly Abyss Dungeon together if you're split between 1370 and 1340 and want to do both modes, because the Hard Mode gives Normal Mode credit...? Ok whatever, we boosted him up to 1370 with some donations and Asmongold'd his char up to 1370. Well, 1 week later, half of us are at 1385 and want to push for Argos P2. That's too bad, our friend is at 1378. If anyone knows how Argos Phases work, you have to straight shot all of the phases in 1 group, all-or-nothing on loot. Either that, or you split up and join groups that stop at the phase you want to stop at. Well at least we can carry him through Argos P2 and we did. The next week, 2 of us want to push for Argos P3. The others haven't been enjoying the game as much, because we've played for 2 weeks spending more time trying to fight the game's stupid lockout systems than actually playing together. We all finally dropped the game this week. We'd rather have fun in an MMO that isn't hell-bent on creating social exclusivity through lockouts.
@@EnraiChannel For Argos, you need to straight shot up to the phase you want to loot with that party. Let's say someone wants to loot Phase 1, but you want to loot Phase 2. Well, you cannot be in the same party, because the *entire party* must accept or pass the phase's loot. So if you want Phase 2, you have to convince your friend to give up Phase 1 loot and hope to get carried through Phase 2 and accept phase 2 loot. Of course, then it's up to skill or wipe tolerance, maybe the party disbands because they don't want to carry a 1370, it's a whole shitshow. It would be much better if the phases were simply different raids, like how Valtan is designed, so you could queue with your friends and individually select whether or not you wanted loot. But no, they didn't bother to change anything and gave us a shit design.
Yup, i have a job so when i saw it was either pay hundreds of dollars or just quit your job and spend all your time playing the game to progress, otherwise you'll do so too slow and you'll get bored of doing the same menial and mundane grinding to progress little by little by little. Fuck that, i rather grind PoE or play fun games with friends, hell i'd even play Dota all day before meaningless grinding 3 hours a day on Lost Ark.
@@rRekko I have a job as well. I reached 1400 today. Didn't spend a dime. I still respect that you enjoy other games more (I'm a PoE veteran myself, first league I skipped those last 3 years, played since beta), but there's no need to blow everything out of proportion. A friend of mine has been playing 1 character only, like what, 1 to 2 hours a day during week and a bit more during week ends, not even playing everyday, and he's already past 1380. You just have the same problem as 99% of the gaming community nowadays (which you can witness in the PoE community even more than with LA) : You're falling for FOMO and aren't patient, which leads to frustration because you want to be at the tippy top but don't want to put in the effort. That's true in LA, that's even more true in PoE, and is also true for basically every massively multiplayer game out there that has some form of competition or progression. That's fine, not every game is for everyone, but you shouldn't blame games for that, and instead take a step back and ask yourself why you feel like you have to do all those things to enjoy a game.
MMOs in general have a very bad design flaw that some devs overlook when making their games. Does doing the same thing over and over again feel like a job or a chore or doesn't feel rewarding when a player completes it? If the game has multiple mechanics like this, the game dies quite fast because the average player will quit after a few weeks of the same monotonous tasks. The hardcore players last longer but they'll get bored and leave eventually.
I think you're missing that in this case, the "design flaw" is 100% the devs intention, and is very much not overlooked. Not only do they understand this more than you or I ever could, manipulating this sense of reward is literally how they make a profit. This is pretty SOP for any/all P2W games. You get enticed with easy wins and free progression for dozens, and in some cases hundreds, of hours. Then that feeling of getting rewarded for free starts to slip (by design) and a cash shop is presented as a quick solution (by design). End of the day the game exists to make money, and the game makes money through the cash shop. Everything in the game is, by design, set up to either A) Funnel you into the cash shop or B) Provide content for paying players to entice them to play/pay more. Amusement parks only sell those overpriced FastPasses to skip lines if there are huge lines to begin with, after all. You're either the guy buying the FastPass and skipping ahead, or you're the guy standing in queue to give other richer people a reason to buy a FastPass.
@Maxtor guild wars 2. The problem is whatever you can code into the game is finite and will always become repetitive given players time to grind it out. To survive time, MMOs must have mechanics to allow/promote player interaction, thus allowing players to create content for each other
" we care only about gear score " . Ok , what you can enjoy in LA instead of gear progression ? Timegate bosses? Timegate guardians? Timegate professions ? Timegate everything. Even endgame mokoko's/island souls are timegated
@@power50001562 True, PvP is good, but seriously if you want to play a PvP game go play a shooter or something not LA arena lmao. Like I played braindead PvP and abused sorceress and reached 2350 rating, which was like top20 ish on my server at the time, literally no skill or balance.
The problem is simple; the more you grind, the more you realise you're wasting your time (and it gets worse the more you hone). And time is money. Money is also money. So the only way to progress is either to spend an insane amount of time getting mats to hone a few times and most likely fail, or spend money to overcome this RNG. If you think PoE doesn't respect your time, LA is way worse once you hit T3.
@1D1-Myke 1340-1370is the known dead zone. U havnt reach where the problem is. And what’s worse is gona be 1400-1415 for none paying player except those who play since the beginning and shorted the market.
I'm just glad I didn't make the dead zone before South Vern release since its 1340+ and should help the deadzone a lot... should hit T3 this week so I am speaking with zero experience of my own to be fair.
PAY TO WIN :) :) :) Just pay to be stronger to be ... a big d*ck with your money ... it's like to pay escort and to feel too good because she said you're the best
that's why I go for single player game now a day, because you get your reward more linearly, unlike MMO today the further you're in, the more you feel like you wasting your time and not having fun
I recently reached 1340 on my main, ~1060 on an alt and 840 on another. The game was fun while progressing through the story the first time, but once that was finished I'm left with doing an absurd amount of dailies that honestly aren't that much fun. Guardian raids aren't particularly challenging or rewarding. Chaos dungeons at T3 are pointless to grind, because of how much you need to grind to make any sort of difference. So, at 1340 you realize the game is just repeat the same content over and over for hours a day with very little progress that ultimately just keeps you going on the same treadmill. The endgame content just isn't that much fun when all you're doing is your daily/weekly grind to slowly progress your iLvl.
this game is for people with ocd. doing the same boss and quests daily was too much to bare so i quit. not to mention the anti fun wipe mechanics with no in game guide because they are so obscure you need to use RU-vid to figure it out... this game is for pplthat like punishment cause that what you will experience from honing to dungeons etc etc
I honestly really enjoy doing the daily content and raids because the game FEELS good with the effects of your moves. It's all very impactful. My problem is that the gear progression has a chance to work instead of a flat path for you to follow. It can take you weeks to hit the higher ilvls or months to a year. That's what kills it for me. I don't enjoy the chance to progress, I want the guarantee that i'll progress. I'm mainly a final fantasy xiv player and gear progress is just "play the hardest content, get the best gear," which works really well for me. I don't care about the p2w because my enjoyment doesn't come from comparing my progress to others, but the way it works in this game has people paying thousands of dollars just to hit the next level of content because they dont want to spend weeks to months to years grinding. That's super predatory and it's honestly kind of heartbreaking that people are paying so much money for essentially nothing. Not even Destiny was this disgustingly predatory and that set a standard for predatory microtransactions to avoid grinding. Honestly what they should do is just increase the material requirements for each gear lvl and give advancement 100% chance. You'll still have to grind and you can pay to avoid that grind but you'll, at the very least, have a set path to progression. You'll know exactly what you need to farm and for how long you need to farm.
@@franklinturtleton6525 The game already has this system. You are guaranteed to upgrade your gear after a certain amount of attempts (a set amount of materials). But you can get lucky and skip the attempts and get to the next level. There is no rush to succeed these attempts. The only end game content we have is Argos. And that’s only 2 weeks (3-4 weeks if no alts) of casual t3 gaming to reach. It’s really not as bad as people make it seem. It’s only daunting if you’re trying to keep up with whales or low life grinders with monotonous daily chores. 1385+ isn’t the holy promise-land. There’s no content to rush to. And I agree with the predatory p2w tactics. But If people want to be stupid and waste thousands on an MMO with little end-game content that’s on them.
@@hamschh And that was the biggest downer for me. I could live with all the rng p2w bullshit, if there actually was content, that at least in some way is engaging and "hard" with vanity rewards, but the fucking game is the same easy loot pinata across the board. there is no "special" loot, it's all the same fucking rng bullshit literally everywhere, all your ilvl dictates is to how many you have access every day/week. There is no distinction between a skilled player and one that is not. it's sadeg. in addition my whole group dissolved over the weeks, because some of us had so bad rng we couldnt play together anymore without waiting for them for 1-2 weeks. that's just dumb.
I'd say the two main factors that kills the game are: 1 - The game is balanced around late t3 content, so a lot of classes are rough to play before that, like spec classes without good Wealth runes. And when someone wants to get to this point he is stopped by the honing rates; 2 - Huge amount of time used for daily grind per character. If the player isn't enjoying his class, changing mains or just sucking it up until the class gets really good doesn't sound great.
The gaslighting is strong in this video and the Lost Ark community in general. “Oh you want to quit because of pay to win. It’s because you are jealous of others and don’t understand the game. You just need to think about the monetization like this.” This is why players are leaving the game, content creators sold em snake oil and they are starting to see through their bullshit
This. First time I heard about the game was from my friend who had watched these content crrators and told me Lost Ark is gonna be so great, the first mmo ever to respect your time, f2p and no p2w etc all these. He too have quit the game by now
@@gyderian9435 yup - I fell for the same trap. 80 hours in once I got to the end game, I opened up the cash shop and saw there was a paid item to save time in every aspect of the game. I was like damn, this is the worst monetization I have ever seen in an MMO and I put 1,000 hours into BDO. I immediately quit the game.
@@Thanatos2k lol I remember some of the streamers who played in KR and RU before the western release alluded to how they were planning to take advantage of the new players on the market but wouldn’t share their strategies. Straight scum
Same for me, i got baited by these people but i realized quickly how much they lied. My friend on the other hand had to go upto 1350 to realize this and wasted alot of time before quitting.
Playing classes to gear another class instead of playing the class for the class is my issue with the game. The content is no where near fun or dynamic enough for that.
Wait. You really have to play alts to properly gear your main? Dafuk? It's usually the other way around lmao. You play your main to boost your alts. Dafuk is this system. Boy am i ever glad i never even thought about downloading this dumpster fire.
Play 1 class. Paladin. Currently 1360. Westerners literally are the worse communities I swear to god gtfo the game if you cant handle failing 1 enhancement.
@@davidepannone6021 100% because after playing around 600hours I realized couldn't progress anymore without alts and it became boring as fuck doing the same shit with 5 different chars so I quit the game
"why people are quitting lost ark" - because it's a flavour of the month MMO that streamers push because they are bored with what they are forced to play for their audience, and when people realise it's just the same fashionable thing, they just move on
The problem with all P2W games is that their central game mechanic inevitably weighs heavily on some “barely fun” RNG slot machine mechanic that - for the majority of players (especially F2P players) - is unsatisfying as hell to spend time and effort doing. Lost Ark and it’s honing system are no different. As a P2W game reliant on this RNG lotto mechanic for revenue, LA as a whole will never change. LA will always have a honing system or some other gambling mechanic in place and players will always have to grind through it in some mind numbing way OR will be forced to swipe a CC. More and more F2P players will lose interest in this grind especially as they come to realize P2W players can bypass the monotony with a swipe of the CC AND they realize that devs will never actually improve the system because it must remain in the game to fund development (and to line the pockets of investors)
@@jaahman0098 Exactly, it's really easy now since everyone saw and tried the enjoy the shtshow ark or chore ark, so much potential but so much fked up systems killing the game slowly already.
@@jaahman0098 most people are preventing themselves for having fun by playing a game that is not for them. If you treat lost ark as a race while being F2P you're doing it wrong lol
@@SmHy23 so the F2P players who want to engage in endgame content, who may want to keep up with some of their friends, or those that want to experience all the content the game has to offer; but absolutely cannot because of dogshit progression systems (based on luck rather than effort and skill), are "doing it wrong"? What about F2P players who's aspirational content is gear progression? What about collectors? Transmogers? When these players are stonewalled and bogged down to the point of quitting by the shitty progression system, are they "doing it wrong" too?
@@justpazzingby13 yes they are playing it wrong, and its not their fault either. The game is just mindless grind doing the same chores and the redeeming quality is the combat. If you can't be satisfied with just the combat alone its not for you, wanting more is playing it wrong. Some people like it enough to stick with the chores.
i'm at 1355 too and started playing alts instead, while i have the materials i just simply cannot afford the gold price of honing at that point. 120gold for below 10% chances i just a no go to me. So i'm just stacking mats any way i can and wait for a honing buff when valtan releases.
@Henzo88 It doesnt lmao it get better for all of 15 item level then the gold and silver prices go through the roof and you are hard stuck not to mention 1400-1415 is literally the same thing but much more expensive
The reason I quit was just that it was really demotivating for me whenever I failed an upgrade but I was still trying until I missed one day and thought to my self is it really worth it to get back on the next day and my answer was no
As I have experience with Korean MMOs I knew exactly what to expect. Played until I hit the grindwall/paywall and then noped out. These games are made with the express purpose of either wasting your money, or wasting your time in an effort to make you waste money. It's a lose-lose situation and it's just not worth it when there are so many games out there that actually respect your time and money.
Lol, no game “respects your time and money”. They’re all time sinks that want your money. It doesn’t matter what you’re actually doing in the game. You don’t have to spend a dime on Lost Ark either unlike games that ask for $60 up front and you’re done with it 3 weeks later.
What made me quit Lost Ark was mainly the casino stones, after so many screwed up casino stones it just helped a lot in completely losing interest in the game. Also, gear honing got really annoying, as well. After talking to some of my friends, we all decided to go back to FF14 instead.
@@kuposceptre Yeah, I love FF14. I just finished Shadowbringers right before Lost Ark came out and I took a break. I`m going into the stuff between shadowbringers and Endwalker, and Endwalker when I`m going back to it now.
Sucks to hear man, especially since you havnt tried the legion raids. They are seriously some of the best raid content I’ve done from any mmo I’ve played. Really makes other games look like trash when it comes to good raid mechanics/themes. Would say maybe check back in mayish once class rebalances are done along side valton coming out.
@@ratburgler lost ark is the exact same there's one singular BiS, the difference is that you can't possibly reach it because of the compound effect of multiple rng mechanics (random drops, casino stones, honing, gems)+ limit on grindable mats and the variety is usually 2 viable builds for your class. In FFXIV you are guaranteed to get bis items from tomes in certain amount of weeks or faster if you win rolls and the variety is the ability to play and BiS all classes. In the end people play the game they like and it nice we have choices.
@@ratburgler yeah but there is inevitably one strongest combination of these systems or at least a meta build most people gamble for. You are restricted in the number of classes you can play and by rng progression locking you into one path so in practice your choices are quite limited. You can tweak your build in FFXIV although it's much much simpler and less impactful. These games are different in almost every way but the illusion of choice is similar although achieved in different ways. I think I just have different opinion on this that's all.
I've quit because of the dailies, they should shove dailies into a weekly so we dont have to do too much of the same shit every day. rather run raids and do other things more often, but dailies feels 'must-do' for progression, takes like a few hours to complete if you have multiple characters and I'm sleeping on my chair because of the repetitiveness of it and barely have time to do other things.
yea that's why I only play one character so I finish daily in 20 minutes, I think having multiple characters can be beneficial to feed your main but it's not worth for the time you spent in it, there's just better thing to do in your one character maybe power pass for extra PVP character
Exactly. I don't mind repetitiveness that much and every mmo has repetitive tasks but Lost Ark cranks it up to 1000x. Back when I used to play FFXIV (ima return soon), it never felt repetitive like that because there's so much different stuff to do and you're not forced to do most of it. Also, the player interaction is just so much better; especially guilds.
Well i play FF14 and I don't have to grind this much to do savages or ultimate, crafting gear works great for savages and in ultimate, only skill matter after to clear them. I always laugh at lost ark player who can't even enter some raid or dungeon because they lack 5 or 10 gear score. It reminds me of those people waiting outside night clubs for hours hopping to get in.
Yeah ff14 was trash at launch too remember, plus anyone who enjoys hard-core progression gets bored of ff14 in a couple weeks, so there's pros and cons to each.
@@drainedrain1 I wouldn't call leveling through FFXIV "hardcore content" I'm doing "hardcore progression" right now and I am still guaranteed to get whatever piece I want in 2-4 weeks. There's no chance of it taking shorter or longer. And even then, that progression maybe takes 2-3 hours of gameplay a week.
did u fail 10 times the same honing from +14 to +15 (1360-1370)? i did...4/6 gear pieces i had to tap it 10 times....do u know how that feels? it feels like u are wasting your fvking life
@@HDGaminTutorials I can't help but laugh whenever I see someone say that FFXIV's endgame is so easy because it reminds me of that Limit Maximum (World First raider) RU-vid video where he supposedly looked up a guide on the mechanics of each Eden savage raid bosses. At the end of the day, what might be easy for you, might be difficult for others and vice versa.
20:40 you genuinely think that THIS is peak MMORPG? You spent years attacking wow taking away master loot because it forced disgusting degen behaviour like splits, but now you're sitting here saying THIS? Maybe an MMO isn't the right option for you buddy, seeing as the only mmo's you enjoy right now are simulators of various casino machines. Maybe you should check the honing chance of your wallet at the local casino.
LOOOL FINALLY OTHERS ARE SEEING IT! Straight up, Asmongold is getting old and he doesn't realize it yet. His criteria for a great MMO 7 years ago when I watched him he was a different type of player, a straight up neckbeard and so was I. He's just outgrown MMO's imo and so has this older demographic who watch his streams.
''But when i enter the queue it pairs me with random people'' Yeah sure dude, you still believe they'll say they aren't watching you, like all those others who want to be added to your friends list just because they ''aren't your viewers''
He literally stated that response towards matchmaking. In a game of 500k+ players at the time of his Que spam, your 4-10k viewers are few and far between to be able to consistently match with Asmongold specifically. Yall some jealous scrubs. He already stated in MULTIPLE previous vods that the streamer experience as a whole can be VERY different. AGAIN, his response on THIS specific vod was towards MATCHMAKING QUES.

Got tired of logging in every day to do all my dalies etc. for ~2 hours and only get a small bump in my honing after failing a few times over. Maybe ideal for people looking for a long term progression path, but just got boring for me quick personally.
i do agree that its boring to a certain point and i have been doing other stuff like adventure tome its actually fun collecting them maby try doing other stuff then just hone if you dont like ithe game anymore its 100% fine i just dont want a good game to die so quick
@@nopa9478 Adventure tome is boring man wtfdym lmfaooooooooooo. Also this game will not die it still has A LOT to release. I got all of my tomes to 80%+ just because of the skill pots and i gotta say that was so brutal.
It just feels soooooooo bad as a f2p to save up honing mats only to get bad rng. It's 100x harder to gather the mats do be able to progress. So it killed my exp for me. 1315 gs. My rng was terrible.. I just didnt have it me to make another to maybe have the same exp with alt or an alt just feed honing mats to main to. I'm too old with obligations for the time needed for alts.
In my mind part of the issue is that the only challenging content are Guardian raids and Abyss. The Chaos dungeons get boring very quickly (just a chore to complete). But the worst most boring aspect of the game are trying to complete Una's Daily tasks (traveling around to even get to them) as well as having to navigate around on the ships. They should make some of these aspects more fun and challenging. Then perhaps the game would be more fun.
Kinda dawned at me early on that the game will revolve around doing dailies/chores without missing a login, if you want to see any sort of progress. If I was in school I could maybe see throwing a few hours now daily, but nowdays I value my time a lot more to it on what is essentially a hamster wheel.
pay2win MMORPG players are known to consume the most copium and sywo is probably leading that list...game has issues, BIG issues, ignoring it and damage controlling will solve nothing.
He's like that because he invested in the game and can't see it properly anymore, or could it tho, him and stoopz can try to talk as nice as they can, but after seeing their snake oil drowning in the sht they are trying as hard as they can to say "horizontal content" is good for people who can't reach 1370+ even with 500h+ and this is "FINE", take your "TIME" LOL, fkin degenerates, game has so much fked up systems, I'm almost dropping it too, I'm only playing for now because of combat
I consider myself part of this 'active majority', although during weekdays I have a job and I cannot play more than 4-5 hours in the afternoon/evening. I managed to reach 1355 until I was left without honing materials after 3 weeks of farming/hoarding. I am not able to reach 1370 to reach Argos, and AGS is already planning Valtan. Hitting 1415 is an illusion honestly. In 2 months I was not able to reach 1370, despite spending 400+ hours in the game.
I have 254 hours, 190 fails, 0 alts, I only do the minimum 2 chaos, 2 guardians, not even the abyssals most weeks, maxed PVP materials from tier 1, maxed materials from Arkesia + the new guardian event + guild vendor, 3x dailies usually, and rarely ever convert my pirate coins into materials. I only did it today because I wanted to push 1355 to 1370. I needed roughly 2k red stones, 17k blue stones. I managed to farm around 25k gold selling gems and expensive mats, then spent around 10k today to finally get 1370. I don't like the honing system but I feel like you're doing something wrong, or you just have immense bad luck Also as a tip, use those metallurgy books wisely. I only use them after the first 4-5x fails depending on how many books I have. I think today, I had around 90x honing attempts. I had around 40 of the books, so I was able to use books in half of my attempts. It's better to use a majority of your materials on the 15% base success rate because of the higher artisan % per failure. Your materials are also 100% worth more because it's the same ilvl gained, and it's always 10 failures until it's 100% from 1355-1370.
Im in the same position sort of, I have played since release and didn't get very lucky early with item drops I could sell for bank and I didn't make it into t3 with good drops soon enough to even really abuse the whales who overpay. I made a bit of gold selling mats to take it slow and selling books for a lot but lost most of it buying crystals because I thought the prices would continue to rise not drop to the shit state it is in now, and buying skins thinking that to be an investment only for them to also drop to stupidly low prices. Im at 1396 and can confidently say that I wont make it to 1415 before valtan without spending money and even so it would have to be a lot of money since the market it so bad now. I cant get my engravings either because 6k gold is too much per piece and stone are expensive with good engravings are expensive. Because of this even if I make it to phase 3 argos no groups will let me in since its almost all whales with 3333 or people who got lucky spending little early on. Makes me really unmotivated to play although I still want to progress and be able to partake in the later raids and such.
2x chaos + 2 guardian + 3 unas + daily world maps ( only works for one caracter) + weekly envent dailys ( only works for one caracter) + daily guardian event + maybe pvp + maybe guild quest + maybe unas weekly + maybe cube( if u got ) + maybe boss ( if u got ) rush+ abyssal week X4 in T3 + argos week and x THE NUMBERS of ALTs u got (is 7 for me ) dont forget to use all the crafting base energy and all ur farming energy dailys dont forget to find a way to farm golds bc u will be stuck if u dont its a bit to much time comsumming for a long run with low progress btw guys dont use ur money, the game is slowy diying bc of time comsuming , ppl are quitting, and its not a speedrun game, its a RLY RLY slow run game so u will be out ilvl in few month by ppl with no life F2P u got 4 choice playing this game 1 paying like a dumb whale and losing big quantity of money 2 having no life if u want to progress 3 playing a bit less but u will never go endgame for sure like in wow 4 quitting and find a game with decent progress without having u to play 18hours a days its not rly a skill depending game its more like a money / time depending game
yes this is what i was thinking, when i found out what this game was all about, quit 4 times in 70 hours, I tried to give this game a try, but there were just too many things that annoy me in this game along with the daily grind.
I like and will keep playing the game, it looks too cool to miss out, but sometimes I ask myself why I do this to myself, I play ffxiv and man, Im bis, I can do a lot of side content that is actually fun, if I dont feel like playing for a week I dony feel like im behind in any way, I want to play dailies to level alt jobs? I can do that
Thanks for the rundown, it helps me understand the commitment necessary to actually play this. It's safe to say I won't be touching it for the foreseeable future. I'm sure it's fun but I just don't have the time to hold down this game as a second job lol
This comment should have a lot more likes, it summarizes perfectly what the "content" of the game really is in the endgame and your options as a player.
@@yt_nh9347 be cool dood , some ppl dont have time / or works some other just didnt find what there are looking in the game and some other do LOVE this game its depending on situations, personnaly if after 70h of try i still didnt like the game the way it is i can totaly understand why he quit a lot of ppl are according to the fact that if u need to put hundred of hours to start enjoying a game its not worth
I love the core of this game. I love the islands, the combat, the exploration, environments, the guardians, the raids, sailing events. I could go on but you get the point. But the insanely low honing success rate just kills it for me. The frustration I feel just isn't worth it for me. I farm for days just to make absolutely no progress. I wish the honing success rate was increased SIGNIFICANTLY, but the increases you get were much much smaller. It would feel better to have more successes with smaller strength increases than multiple fails with huge strength increases. That's just my opinion
1390 and never had any problems with honing lmao i have no idea what every1 is talking about i actually wish the progress was slower so we can enjoy tier 1 and tier 2 more becuse now it feels like t1 & t2 existance is useless. character ilevels up so fast and it feels like we are skipping content and side things
@@Terms-and-Conditions well that's great for you. If it doesn't bother you then awesome. But the 15+ failures in a row is not fun for me. Wasting mats over and over without seeing any benefit is not fun. It might not bother you but we can't all be like you.
@@xJayhawkFANx i guess i dont mind it because i have no expectations, i just play because i like the game atm, i dont care about the item level, i click the thing and if it goes it goes, if it fails it fails, it's not something i look up to, i dont get happy when succeed and dont get angry when fail its just the game's process' plus i never got jealous of high ilvl people because you dont even compete with them, pvp is balanced and in the rest of the content the high level ones can only help you/carry u and not harm u with their strong gears
Thing tha I don't understand is that there is a huge playerbase complaining about honing failure and a huge that doesn't. I mean I am at 1340+ and have 30% chanche without solars. So I fail most of the time. Then I run out of fusion. Craftable at Stronghold, thar rarely any streamer talk about. I think we all fail at honing(some may be lucky), but the difference is gold. You just buy the shit others don't and call them stupid haha. Personally I play at my own pace and offcourse I can never play Argos🤣🤣
After hitting 1370 and finally doing current endgame content I found out that Argos is not that interesting actually. And honing gets worse btw because you start needing gold and silver in freaking bulks. Game is still fun but you definitely do not need to rush ilvl. To me, the best thing this game offers is the horizontal content.
That is actually a monetization technique, it confuses people and they spend more/get non-optimal packs from the store. Most of these monetization techniques you can find in the video 'Let’s go whaling: Tricks for monetising mobile game players with free-to-play ' if you want to feel disgusted go watch that.
Also I get the idea of "Not doing something you don't enjoy", I fully understand but on the flipside, why don't the game developers just put effort in to making those things less tedious and fun, ignoring the problem does nothing and the maybe it's not for you argument is a half excuse to push away complaints.
Yeah sure, but point is different people enjoy different things, maybe you hate doing your daily chaos, maybe I love it. Sometimes certain content just isnt enjoyable for some people, and while it could be fixed by the devs its impossible to make a game everyone enjoys, hence why he says the game just might not be for you. You might be actively trying to enjoy something you just dont.
@@AkenoNixx I don't mind doing daily chaos, but why do i have to do it TWICE when i could just do it once and get the same rewards as twice, same for guardian raids, there's so many little changes that would just make the game feel better overall.
@@The10thX Yeah I agree that it's silly you have to do them twice when there is nothing changing. If you had 2-4 choices between guardians giving the about same rewards but being completely different fights (like MH basically does this with different rank monsters, except MH isn't mmo and so on but it has way more variety on same ranks) I would understand that you have daily limit of 2 and you choose 2 out of 4. And chaos dungeons could have something added to them to make some difference. Or just give double the rewards and limit the aura to one per day. So to put it simply: they should add variety. But of course that means they would need actually good designers and coders for that.
The core issue is that people like literally everything about the game, except the fact that the percentage based upgrade system is there in the first place that timegates them as an individual player. The whole purpose of the argument I believe is that the game would be way better if that wasn't even there in the first place. It does nothing but cause anxiety and unecessary frustration
I quit because there was preety much 0 social interaction, outside of guardian raids there was preety much nothing. Also found the continents and islands boring as hell, really got bored of the pattern of finish continent, do islands for upgrade mats, hit the next item level tier, rinse repeat. By the time I got into tier 3 it was a bit better, but other than the combat there really was not much else to sink my teeth into and all i had to look forward to was a boring, long winded grind and im not about to sink another 100 hours farming upgrades. It's an alright game overall though.
Bro I don't understand this guy's argument? He knows that KR and RU Argos and the 2 HM dungeons we have are below 1370? Why the fuck does no one talk about this??
I definitely burned myself out with 400 hours in the first month but I mainly quit cause gear upgrades are pure chance. I was a free player but when all my materials (from 1 character) from 2 straight days actually got me no progress and I wasn't even 1340 yet I lost all interest instantly. I feel that even if I drop thousands I could lose it all for just bad roles.
u get pity so at some point u get 100% chance on the try at 15% chance i believe its about 12 rolls and then u hit pity so everybody will eventualy progress its just a matter of how fast honestly if they release content at a decent pace (20-30% players can do x raid in the 1st week and more than 70%-80% after a month) and they inject honing mats with events every other month i think only an extreme casual could possibly be complaining about honing
@@titangeldeluxe3388 yea its the lack of ways to get mats. No t3 islands, no t3 tower, only 1 t3 continent leaves the only ways to get mats the naruni event, chaos/chaos infinite, that merchant ship, and guardian raids. I don't know if that t3 pity is 100% but if its 12 attempts you gotta look at how many mats and how much gold you have to burn to get 1 pity on a single piece of gear. Then how long its gonna take to get all those unless you buy them all off the market then how much gold you just spent to literally disappear. And all this isnt even the hard stuff for luck. Getting the right cards, getting the right stat rolls and quality on gear, getting the right skill tree boosts then transferring them over (which only have a 60% at lvl 2 and goes up to 5), getting the right engravings on the gear with the right quality, rolling well on stone cracking. So much pure chance to just get the right gear let alone the best gear.
everyone will burn out on the game naturally because it's meticulously, obnoxiously grindy for no reason lol. some will burnout in 2 months, some it will take months, or even a year the game is fundamentally designed for you to be burned out on.
This is the first video of Asmons in a long time I just dont agree with. Asmon has been fed currency and been boosted pretty much from the start. This Sywo guy is not someone people should listen to for a non-bias reflection of the game. His entire career is based on the success of this game. Defamatory language towards it is only going to affect his own pocket. This back and forward argument about PTW/F2P and the game losing played count is just boring now. Its. A. Mobile. Game. - The building blocks of this game have the exact same staging, daily lockouts, time gated etc as a mobile game. Just because you can play it on PC doesnt mean it doesnt follow suit. The reason it was released in the West is because the active play count in the East stagnated.
I've loved the game and played around 400 hours, got a gunslinger on 1375 2 T2 and some T1 lowies. Reason I'm not feeling the game right now is the following: I'm working, I have very limited time to play. There's so many daily and weekly bullshit, spread on 6 to 7 different characters that it feels impossible to do even half of it as a working person. On the weekend where I could catch up and do everything, I feel overwhelmed and annoyed of all the grind I need to do to catch up. Also I'd have to not do anything else on the weekends to even catch up, which again is frustrating. With all the daily and weekly resets I I dont even have time to do any islands, collectibles, on top of it the fact so many things are timegated its annoying as hell, I don't wanna put alarm clocks while playing a game I want to relax to. Overall I feel a lot of stress and Fomo the last days of playing it. Honing is literally a non factor for me, I don't rly mind it that much. Also currently I'm always broke and gold is so hard to get.
gold and silver...did u fail 10 times the same honing from +14 to +15 (1360-1370)? i did...4/6 gear pieces i had to tap it 10 times....do u know how that feels? it feels like u are wasting your fvking life
You got fed materials by viewers and bypassed an enormous time sink you otherwise would've had to endure. Your experience of the game is not genuine or valid and therefore neither is your opinion on it.
Honing simulator along with not having the class I want to play, considering the game is all about T3, getting from T1/the start to T2 was the most fun part
According to Steam Achievement Stats only 4%!!! have reached Tier 3. Now imagine how many people left after seeing Tier 3 success rates. Like probably 99% of the "real" players have already quit the game. And if you take away the bots that are flooding all servers and channels i would be surprised if the playercount would still be above 100k.
Fear mongering bullshit. This game is doing very well, player numbers increased since last week, me and my friends are enjoying this game since the launch as f2p players. There are way less bots than it used to be and it would be wise to say that player count stabilized at above 300k, which is great. I see as many people on my server as I did a month ago so shut the fuck up.
i quit because it was not fun anymore and the honing system felt like a nightmare every single day.... 100$ spent on founders pack and i regret it...i tried every class and most of them just feel so generic that is so hard for me to believe that people actually enjoy just pressing your bottoms out of cooldown and thats it...there is 0 brain power involve...just smash the keyboard and u win... (pvp is trash too, just spam your abilities) the only class i can say is fun is gunslinger because it actually requires brain power to execute properly...
The thing thats even more humerous is how he went from "if theres even the slightest bit of p2w in lost ark i will immediately quit" to "Today we are gonna spend $900 on honing" Its so funny to see how easily he sets aside everything he apparently stood for once just to justify his gambling addiction.
hes full of shit i lost all respect for him and his community that bans u in chat if u disagree with him and even deletes youtube comments... did u fail 10 times the same honing from +14 to +15 (1360-1370)? i did...4/6 gear pieces i had to tap it 10 times....do u know how that feels? it feels like u are wasting your fvking life...im mad... super fvking mad
"It's a same exact thing. Just click a button." Other players have to spend 100ts hours just to get to raid and have bad expiriance in it. Same expiriance.
People who think the lost ark grind is okay and that many games are just as grindy don't get that those other games also FEEL GOOD to grind in. Lost ark's grind is just pure depression.
I'll be honest, The moment I stepped in the game it kinda reminds me of a generic mobile mmorpg that got booted to pc. Its not fun it has this linear path of hey kill this, oh run over there kill this ooh dungeon ooh cutscene. It's like bdo mobile in a nutshell. I get that most viewers are like HA mobile games boooo but it has the same formula as any generic phone mmorpg game
@@ZombieGangster I mean I havent played the game, but his description of it could be used to accurately and fairly describe every mmo ever. Think of classic wow. Hey kill this hey go over there get this. That is the EXACT question of classic wow. Eso. Same shit. Lost ark, same shit. Sure there may be a bit more dialogue to create the illusion of importance but they are all the same in the monotony of tasks. All the ones I've played. And I can't really see them doing it differently, I mean realistically the vast majority of games can be boiled down to hey go over there hey kill this, but usually the storyline and justification for the players actions creates a more compelling gameplay experience. Mmos as a whole have the least compelling gameplay experience until you get to max level and unlock the fun mode. I realize I am making blanket statements that can't encompass every mmo ever and I cant vouch for those because I haven't played them. The ones I have played, and the ones I haven't but have seen gameplay of, perfectly follow the same, mundane structure, with a varying amount of flair to convince you that what you're doing isn't a waste of time, or simply a grind to the good shit.
Grinding itself isn't the problem. It's just the extreme lack of variety. You are gonna do the same over and over again. Chaos Dungeon is a good example. It's always the exact same gameplay loop from t1 to t3. but with different trash(mobs). And you have to do that shit 2 times on EACH char to be efficient.
did u fail 10 times the same honing from +14 to +15 (1360-1370)? i did...4/6 gear pieces i had to tap it 10 times....do u know how that feels? it feels like u are wasting your fvking life
People are so ignorant…if they just knew how much gold and blue crystals a whale was making as soon as they reach tier 3 back in the early days…they were making more money than u in real life just by playing the market (smart whales)…now they will never need gold again they are set for life…meanwhile f2p people will have to put in so many hours of boring repetitive content to get the gold to buy some legendary engraving book that u need to complete your build and be accepted in decent squad to clear content…and that is just one example…the casino rocks will be very expensive too…rn i barely have gold and silver to do honing…and i did play the market early without putting money…im 1385…just one character 400+ hours
After doing Argos P2 I realized that the RNGear up is more difficult than the actual content it gates....and that is why I stopped playing. Not only that, Asmon was literally handed everything he needed to get to T3 at least. The fact he is trying to act like his experience is even remotely like any regular player is laughable.
For me is the honing. Once I hit max level and learned how to hone I immediately has distaste for the game. It feels way too much like literally casino gambling for me. I've gambled once before and hate it. It just causes anxiety for me. I know any rng is technically gambling but honing just feels horrible. I don't think it's an issue with the game tho. It's my problem but I cannot get over it. At least in other mmos when my gear doesn't drop I still have the experience of running the dungeon or raid. In lost ark there's no experience. You just click a button to find out if you win or not.
I've never seen a content creator have worse takes than this Sywo guy. He's saying we are all playing the game wrong or don't have a good enough reason to quit, lmao.
Guy invested like 4 years of his life into only playing Lost Ark on 3 regions. He can't have an unbiased take on the game and his income depends on his channels and the game's success.
Lmao I still remember the hype before the game released and how all streamers/youtubers told us that it was not P2W and that it will be a good game at least. I quit when I reached 1400 and multiple alts in T3, because I realized that the game is a chore and gambling/swipe simulator and nothing changed at endgame. At least I learned to not be hyped for anything.
@@GetnBrains exactly. People are obsessed with ilvl and they think they need to just push ilvl all day everyday and they cant fathom the idea of just playing the game in a more relaxed way and enjoying it for what it is.
@@GetnBrains True, I realized that it was not fun like about 150h in I would say, but because of FOMO and hoping that it would be good one day, I played it like a chore. Hope was lost after all the bullshit AGS did, but hey if yall have fun just keep playing, but im done with this shit lmao.
"I am not going to grind content I don’t enjoy, do a fuckton of adventure tomes, press G 5 million times, just so Smilegate or Amazon can randomly decide that maybe the next content release will have an itemlevel I haven’t yet managed to get because I went for a 1 week holiday in the last couple of months." describes rat race pretty well
I don't like these Lost Ark RU-vidrs. I don't need to "adjust" or quit and play a game that works for me. The progression systems are awful, can we stop with the mental gymnastics. They are essentially telling people that eating shit is an acquired taste. Sounds like a PR Team, just avoiding to adress the actual problem.
I made a HUGE mistake and hopefully this helps you to not do the same mistake as me. I thought Oreha Abyss Dungeon normal and hard were seperate from each other .... So i hit 1370 and was like , "well since i can do 4 abyss dungeons now, lets reclear both Oreha normal Dungeon for the gold first" After the 2 Abyss Runs on normal i realized that i couldn't access the Dungeon on Hard mode. Shit. I messed up big time. No new armor pieces for me for the whole week. That means the only armor i can upgrade right now, is the 2 pieces Argos gear. throwing away a weekly ressource like that really hurts. TLDR : Oreha normal and Hard are NOT seperate from each other. If you queue into normal mode with 1370 that's it for the week.
Bad luck my friend, don’t worry, keep more materials and farm in housing the new yellow material 💪🏻 i did yesterday Argos and the hard mode abyss and i get the craft materials, i can say save Gold as much u can
i quit because playing with friends is pretty hard especially when you find out that they are playing on another server. I paid a worth $100 plat pack to my first account just to find out sometime later that my friends has been playing on another server. Was really bumb out that I cannot transfer my account to different region and so I decided to adjust for them and made a new character in different server. I decided to main it and re-did the entire story and spent my time on it. After the maintenance just recently smilegate sent gift to players which I did not receive on my current main character and had received it on my first character which Im not even playing. I just lost Complete interest.
Didn't they give out second founder pack of the same value for moving server? Also the gift you received, if you haven't opened costume box yet, you can transfer it over to the character you want since it's roaster bound
Yes. And that is their decision. And they will wait for. Anew game like blue protocol who is like wow, and not p2w like lost ark and it will have more new content. Not wasting time on this dog shit game and do something much better irl while waiting for blue protocol is much worth it
You don't need to spend money or play it anymore than any other fuckin MMO to keep up. This is how they all are, MMOs are for no life degens. Get over it.
I quit because I realized one day that the only feeling I got from killing a progression raid boss was relief. I played hours a day, every day, and the best outcome I could hope for was relief when I hit my goals. That was it for me. I couldn’t do it again.
the guy is just complete high on copium , LA is badly designed except for some Bossfights the F2P players will leave and the game will die before 2022 is over
I’m by no means a game designer, but something I’ve realised is that for an mmo to make me want to waste my time nowadays, it needs to be coupled with the social experience. I’m playing classic wow right now and tbh it’s not grinds anymore (I can almost raid log) but I’m more than happy to grind in that game because I naturally was made to join a guild in the ‘honeymoon’ phase and by the time that phase was over I was locked in via a social construct. The issue with lost ark is that while the game was hella fun initially, I’m not going to waste my time for nothing. I’ve met 0 good friends in the game (it may be possible too but there literally no motivation too). For asmongold, I think this social contract comes from his stream. If he wasn’t streaming and played the game as solo as he does, I can’t see him still playing. TLDR for me to want to grind in an mmo (which yes, is always part of the game) I need to be doing it in somewhat of a social experience.
LOL. They hit the paywall. "Knowing" that at some point you'll have to pay-to-win or pay-to-advance. They focus so much on MTX but forgot the "fun" part.
the mental gymnastics to defend these dogshit systems is mindboggling, even for asmongold. the amount of times he's complained about wow "not respecting your time", then hones a 20% chance item and fails. he hasn't even had to play the game thanks to donations (i don't blame him for it, i'd do the same) then defends the same problems that are driving players from the game. no wonder blizzard haven't listened to players, they don't even know what they want.
2 weeks to get from 1330 to 1370? Are you insane? Even with the dual events going on it is taking me longer than that and I have been doing all the gathering except PvP. When you get pity hones at level 12 despite using the books and honing mats, you really just lose motivation to farm any of the honing mats if you can still get unlucky and waste all your time. The game does not reward proper farming with its casino mechanics, and you can get lucky with zero honing mats applied or get uber unlucky despite "doing it properly" with all the mats applied and event books. This game has horrible mechanics, and it is hillarious that despite all that Asmogold has been gifted he still isn't BIS... can you imagine how long it would take a normal person grinding the same content every day, getting absolutely burnt out for minimal reward. There isn't enough dungeon/raid content in this game to warrant the grind, and the gear is purely an item level which is insanely boring as well
People are so ignorant…if they just knew how much gold and blue crystals a whale was making as soon as they reach tier 3 back in the early days…they were making more money than u in real life just by playing the market (smart whales)…now they will never need gold again they are set for life…meanwhile f2p people will have to put in so many hours of boring repetitive content to get the gold to buy some legendary engraving book that u need to complete your build and be accepted in decent squad to clear content…and that is just one example…the casino rocks will be very expensive too…rn i barely have gold and silver to do honing…and i did play the market early without putting money…im 1385…just one character 400+ hours
I hate how severely Asmongold underestimate the boost he gets from his viewers when playing NW or LA. The moment OP mentions streamers getting free stuff Asmon fixates over this for the entirety of the video, while the actual problem and topic of the post is not about it and remains.
Lost Ark is fun, but end game progression sounded so depressing I slowed my row when hit T2. I noticed all the salty boys were in T3, so I figured it's best to just take it slow to avoid that feeling. I still log in everyday for the rewards, but I'm hardly playing anymore. Lost Ark helped me appreciate BDO more. At least in BDO you can buy your gear if you don't want to waste your life on 1% enhance chances.
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too. I pushed through hard last two weeks to get to T2 and climbing. I didn’t listen to stories that well and skipped through. Now, I’m thinking I should slow down my pace and enjoy the contents rather than pushing to end contents where it seems a lot of people are getting burnt out
I love Lost Ark and I play it as my guilty pleasure game, it reminds me of Diablo but it's got a heavenly charm to it by design. Zones are lovely for what it's worth, maybe my expectations were low I don't know. It's deep enough to keep me coming back to it, it's boring enough to make me not grind it on a daily basis. It's interesting enough to make me look forward to next session. I play around 2-3 hours a day or every few days. I explore and fully progress the game. I know every plus and con the game has thanks to Asmon and community. I accept it as it is. I will keep on playing it and have fun with it, until I won't. Hopefully, by the time I won't have fun with it, it will be 2023 and WoW will hit game pass or something then I can get back to my degenerate life as a WoW andy.
Fuck chaos dungeons, most boring thing ever next to gathering. Honing rates and materials makes alts required for ftp, but to level alts you gotta do a shit ton of chaos dungeons. All I have left to do today in L.A is 1.5 hours of Chaos Dungeons + Una dailies and I feel like quitting the game. Hardly feels like an mmo almost 0 positive social interaction. Stupid guild system, base limit of 30 with unique guild on each alt is completely stupid. With only 45 min. of daily playtime per alt guilds become pointless good luck finding a guild with 3 dps 1 sup online at a similar item level ready to do a dungeon that can only be completed once a week. Game looks fun with 5-6 alts at 1400 so you can do 1 abyss raid each day or 6/7 but even then lack of silver means daily chaos dungeons are still a must. Having to do 1000 hours of boring gameplay to get to fun stuff is stupid.
Game is p2w gameplay sucks and most people found out they can’t spend everyday with the same repetitive stuff… just to fail in upgrading and waste half a year without progress later in the game.
Left the game even before reaching T3. Getting to the end of T2 I was already at the point where I was already stuck doing the same mindless grinding every single day and that was boring. I played from the start knowing what I was getting into tho, I did play other korean games for years, did tryhard and rank on a few of them, but I left them all. I went into LA thinking I'll enjoy the early game, it'd be a nice walk on the park, explore around, try the combat with different classes, and I would quit when I hit the massive grind wall that would make the game boring. Got to the wall which btw was way bigger than I thought it'd be, not even TERA was this bad on hindering progress, noped the F out of there. Elden Ring: 50-60 bucks, instant fun, huge world. Has online pvp. Halo or whatever shooter you enjoy: Similar scenario as ER. LA: Spend several hundreds of hours or several hundreds of dollars for a small reward content-wise. No thank you. BTW we getting new ultimate in 14 bois. (leaving that out there for the 14 haters kekw)
The limit on how any dungeons you can do a day is insane to me. So now I’m stuck at 1050 because I have to wait 24hours to get any decent resources, yeah I can do unas quest but I work 12 hours a day I can’t sit at my pc all day just to barely make any resources towards end game lvls
I wished more MMOs felt like a single player game , but with multiplayer. Most people over play these type of games, putting in 10+ hours a day, to burn themselves, so they can be on top the quickest, no wonder they're bored now. The gameplay in Lost Ark is great, but most of the content is so repetitive, that it doesn't feel fun exploring new content, and the microtransactions in the shop doesn't help this game.
The Grind itself is not the problem. It is the P2W aspect which allows to almost completely skip the Grind. Why do you people think that RUNESCAPE, an MMO more then 20 years old, with sh*t graphic and with a much to be desired combat system is popular to even to this day? Because it has one of the best designed "Grinds" in existence, and it isn't P2W. Even if a new player buys billions of gold, they still need to put in an insane amount of their time to come even close to the end game, let alone maxx all of the skills. And even with the best gear, you actually need to get good with the games mechanics or you are toast to the endgame PVM. Games like Lost Ark will not last 5 years, because the skill is mostly tied to the endgame gear, which in turn you can get easily if you pay. You can not buy skill or time in Runescape, that is why it is so popular to this day.
I'm 1355 now on my soulfist 963 on my bard and 570 on my gunslinger. Im basically F2P I've bought 1000 royal crystals but havent spent them on anything yet. Getting here hasn't been so bad especially since theyve added the grand prix and the guardian event. Gold is my biggest struggle at the moment. All the honing + crafting the fusion materials + stronghold research dries me up pretty quickly. Once my alts get up to orehas well It shouldn't be as much of an issue anymore. My biggest gripe with the game is that the best content in the game(imo) the abyssal stuff is limited to once per week. I get all my abyssal content done in the first day of the week and am left wanting for the rest of the week. Don't be jealous of Asmon receiving all the gold because I think he has ruined the game experience for himself. I expect him to migrate to another game soonish because he hasn't really got anything left to aim for. I havent really been enjoying his lost ark content too much i'll be happy when he moves to another game.
Yeah but you realise that from your point it only gets harder and more expensive and in comparison to people who want to play valtan you are about 2-4 months away from being able to partake unless they increase ways to get mats and gold.
You haven't experience the struggle that the others are mentioning. I'm f2p. I have 12 alts. 6 of them are your mains ILevel. The amount of gold and resources that it takes to push to 1370 right now is ridiculous. You get at least 1.5k gold from the 2 tier 3 dungeons that you at your I level are able to do every week for your base gold income. That's like 12 taps of upgrades.
@@mekboy5744 You have 6 alts in tier 3 but are complaining about the success rate and resource cost? I find that interesting. That 10% book makes a world of difference if you leveled up your 6 alts to tier 3 before it was available. Materials are not my issue, it is gold which will be solved tomorrow for the rest of the week when I get my unas tokens.
@@gblessbacon I stop all the alts before the honing success drops to 15% that's when you start eating up resources. That's what I meant. I haven't even pushed my main above 1365.
I quit few days after unlocking dailies. I caught myself I was logging in doing raids, dungeons and quests and then going to do maybe 1 or 2 quests from the storyline and had to end. Some days I did not touch the story just did dailies and honed. When I noticed that it became a chore i quit on the spot.
Had to rewind when he said it takes 2 weeks to go from 1330 - 1370, just to make sure i didnt mishear him. What sort of fairy land is that guy living in
Asmongold is milking the content for this game so hard right now. I hope this is soon over. All the gambling content was shit and boring as fuck. From this game there is basically no interesting gameplay just gambling .
I love how all the lost ark streamers said "dont rush" in the beginning cause they fuqing new once people reach tier 3 they realize how repetetive and shit the game realy is lmao
PoE is the future. New mechanics and content every 3-4months, incomprehensible build diversity & Flexebility, with just Pay for Convenience micro transactions. I've never payed for microtransactions in the past, but once i've seen the amount of work that GGG puts into the game and how they're constantly engaging with their playerbase on reddit and on streams/events, and being open about their intents, that it pushed me to invest into them via donation packs (Cosmetics and micro currency). This is not a sponsored message, just my 2cents as a PoE addict.
@@FXFXFXFX It has held it's ground for this long as one of the best Free action RPGs out there, and only continues growing. Not to mention a huge game overhaul incoming in the form of PoE2 (Not that it's at a bad state and desperately needs it, it's just a really nice bonus)
@@AndreyUrman PoE will always be a niche game cuz Chris Wilson is too stubborn to make the game accessible to the average player. The fact that it's still popular is success enough and if it can grow that's splendid but I wouldn't bet money it's gonna blow up. But who knows, Diablo 4 will likely be a disaster and push many people to PoE2
@@FXFXFXFX I might've exaggerated with it being "The future", what I meant was that PoE is heading in a great direction and doing something unique, which will imo force both RPG lovers and other game companies to pay close attention to it.
