Bats are evil, if we killed them all 800 years ago we would not be dealing with C-19 in 2020. You should be excited that bats are endangered; same with evil rats and mice giving humans the plague. Please reconsider your ignorant views on animals!

Hyenas were more related to cats than dogs in the same way that thylacines were more related to numbats than wolves. Both do have canid-like appearances and traits, though one being more of a feliform by subgroup and the other being a marsupial by infraclass.

Wolves used to be hated just as much as Hyenas for most of their history. It's very recent we have wolfaboos and wolf lovers. I think their hate might be rooted as competitors to us. Both Hyenas and Wolves are pursuit pack hunters, like Humans were.

Kevin Canchola Agree, we demonise animals that are really good at survival like we are. It’s sad that it’s only when we bring these animals to the brink of extinction or we domesticate them (which is a form of extinction) that we then endear them.

@@nbibby no! Its Logical! Humans cant survive or prosper with to much completion , wich is Why we only See animals as cute when they are nolonger a Threat to us. Or do you believe that caveman could have created Villages and farms while there were dangoures preadetors out there that could Attac the village at any momemt? Farming and Settlements are only an Option when the number of predetors is low and the number of humans is high. And when a human gets attact by a Animal? We hunt it! Tiger kills man? Hunter kills Tiger! Wolf kills Woman? The Lord and his knight kill all wolfes in the area! That animals get seperated or protected from humans is only a recant Development.

He is right, as competitors it makes sense as to why we disliked them. It doesn't justify hunting them to extinction but it does show where all that hate stems from. We especially hated them more once we had livestock and they surplus kill it. I don't think it's any coincidence or mistake that we have domesticated dogs. They would have been a great ally back then since they are basically domesticated wolves that do our bidding.

@@nbibby It's not that simple we adore lions and tigers King Richard was called the Lionheart lions are of course more dangerous than wolves. In ancient China the particularly fierce warriors were dubbed tiger generals etc. In contrast wolves have only negative connotation e.g. wolfs head meaning bounty

Hyenas are very potentially dangerous, so it’s wise to understand that and give them the space and respect they deserve, but they aren’t evil or out to hurt us. Almost all animals are more afraid of us than we are of them, and Hyenas are just trying to survive like any other animal. Yes they’re weird and intimidating, but I don’t see any reason to hate them. I actually think they’re really cool and pretty adorable

0:23 Personally, I love Hyenas. Snakes are one of my favourite animals, beautiful and also incredibly dangerous, yet not these aggressive killing machines as some think of them, at least not to humans. Some snakes are actually docile and tame, others can be dangerous but if handled correctly can be perfectly safe. Spiders and Hornets are really cool animals and interesting, and I don’t want to hurt/kill them, but personally I’m phobic of spiders being close to me and hornets/wasps in the UK aren’t dangerous unless you’re allergic, they just piss me off. ... people hate skunks? Why :(

I dislike wasps and hornets because they kill bees (bad!!) And can't even pollinate (bad too!!) And also can get EVERYWHERE (really bad!!) But I do admit that only if they're invasive they should be killed. If they are native to whatever ecosystem (and are in their native ecosystem) then they should be relocated

@@malekbaroud1094 But those people lived already in societies of 30 people or something like that. There was no need to choose one guy for safety, because everyone in your group would protect you. They didn't have like a familiy house with only their nuclear family. That's a modern thing. And also women in that time were usually really strong. Sometimes archaeologists find bones of people and think those are from men, because the person seems really strong and muscular. And then they actually examine further and it's from a woman. There is even evidence that hunting parties were partly made up of women. There is also a lot of evidence that even people with disabilities were supported by their people and often were seen as spiritual leaders, shamans ect. . So it was really not that "Strong man goooood. Crush the weak"-world. They were also really good nourished most of the times and lived quite long with some luck. The low life expectancies are just the result of the high child mortality. If you had 20 cavemen 6 of them would reach an age over 60, 4 would die in an age of 35-50 and 8 would die before 5 and 2 before 10. They were also quite tall, comparable with modern humans. Later humans would begin to live in larger societies in the first crowded cities and started to farm and that would reduce both their size and their life expectancies. Because their food would be mostly cereal products with a lot of carbohydrates and low in nutrients. But it was necessary to support more people in the same place. They also began to struggle with diseases and well... deadly working conditions became really a thing due to stricter hierarchies.

Because of information, they have been a lot of documentaries and books and movies/games about wolfs, but very few about hyenas If more information about them gets in the media it would help get (some) people to like them a lot more, hell the furry community sure love them, and the trasn community use them as symbol since female hyenas are so distinctly masculine compare to other animals

I wish People could ddo that at least for other members of their own species But WE arent even capable of that so i dont have any hope in that. Also most People Who "love and defend" wolves would still rather kill a Wolf in the wild instead of leaving its TERITORY peacefuly or showing them they are not a threat. wolves are very smart and understand able animals People hell some humans are dumber than most wolves

@@lunawolfheart336 Actually, it's the lioness that hunts. Male lions are the ones who stay behind to protect the cubs. But a lioness is more likely to kill you if you're seen as a threat. Male lions try to scare off threats before trying to fight, but if a lioness sees a threat, there will be blood and probably death.

I absolutely love hyenas! I also happen to like snakes, tarantulas, and skunks. Hornets, I stay the hell away from, but I don't "hate" them per se. But yes, hyenas are adorable kitty pup loafs. I love their fur patterns, I love their unique traits, their "laugh", their beans, I love their teeth, I love everything about them.

Once in a zoo, there was hyenas(there still is) we went in one of the big zoo cars and drove through some of the hyena cages, they fed them raw meat and the group of like 5 hyenas devoured it, the hyenas fought and a little bit later they started circling the truck and laughing that was real scary lol but hyenas are still my fav animal

Ironically, The Lion King and pop culture in general had the opposite effect on me; I ended up liking hyenas more. I'd even go out of my way read about them in stuff like Nat Geo Magazines and zoology books in my upbringing.

I think people don’t like hyenas because usually people like to route for the underdog in a animal fight, but when a clan of hyenas (which is like 100 members or something) fights a lion pride or something they usually always win, which people don’t like.

I'm part of the hyena clan of the Jopadhola tribe in eastern Uganda through my mother When a joke is so good that i literally can't stop laughing, this little tid bit flashes thru my head (along with Scar's little helpers mid laugh) Its a horrible feed back loop 😅 And at some point my stomach starts hurting

I've seen a documentaire about a village where two packs of hyenas come visit every night and outside the village they fight violently and the winner can get into the village and gets feeded by locals and basically turn into doggies.

As a major lion king fangirl, I actually felt bad for the hyenas cuz they just wanted a life without feeling subjugated and being constantly hungry but scar takes advantage of that and turns them to his side. Later on the hyenas (shenzi) realize scar doesn't care and her clan is beginning to starve. They are caught up in scars lies and deciet which leaves them with nothing like scar said in the beginning. So I don't see hyenas (in real life) as "evil" but the clean up crews of the animal kingdom :)

They’re not scavengers though, that’s a big misconception. Lions actually more often scavenge from hyenas than the other way round

I like hyenas, snakes and skunks, love hornets and spiders. They just look or smell weird and may depending on the species be very defensive. But they’re still animals and don’t deserve the hate they get at all. Especially spiders.

I started liking hyenas once I saw a few documentaries about them. They are so intelligent and are able to count. And while they do scavenge if the opportunity comes, they are also able to hunt and don’t just eat rotten meat.
