I have lived here for the majority of my 75 years .{ Sudbury, Chelmsford , Hanmer Coniston, Dowling ,} I have never been stuck behind a snow plow for 30 minutes, and we did not see minus 30 this past winter 2022/23. I tried living in a southern Ontario city for one year ,but found it too humid and so i came back to Sudbury were the air is much dryer as a rule . There are 100's and 100's of lakes up here and i have fished many back in the day . I have always said ; IT"S GREAT TO BE A NORTHERNER.
Thanks Mason, very interesting all the information, of my new city. I moved here with my wife and daughter., we are happy starting to discover all this region
Congratulations that’s a pretty big move! If you’d like to get in touch to know more about Sudbury, feel free to email me at mason@lakecityrealty.ca or message me on Instagram!
I lived in Sudbury for the first 25 years of my life. Then I moved and lived in Thunder Bay for nearly 40 years. Then I moved back to Sudbury. Being born in 1953 at the former Sudbury General Hospital, I find it difficult to see that building being half left in a decrepit state. To call that Canada's largest mural is a DISGRACE. Also, it sounds like they want this as a permanent site. Are you kidding me? Most of the Sudburians want this building demolished . Just because the former city council hired an out of town painter to splash some colours on it , looks just what they did. They coul🎉have hired someone local to do that. Actually, I'm not sure whose responsible for worsening that eyesore, but that is terrible! Our Mayor, Paul Lefebrve seems to be working to get rid of it. The truth always comes out in the wash, so I guess we'll just have to wait to hear the REST OF THE STORY.
The only downside of selling in a big city and buying a better house for the same money in a small city is you are hit with hugely higher property taxes.
The amount of new listings are definitely low at the moment, but if you’d like you can email me more details at mason@lakecityrealty.ca and I can do a more in depth search for you!
Sudbury’s unemployment was 8.4% at the end of last year! It definitely feels like there’s part time jobs out there, and it’s mainly retail and fast food!
