You missed one of the most important points, which is Cloud Storage. Companies want to charge a subscription for the cloud storage they offer you. Earlier google photos was free for pixel users, and now even they ask subscription for it.
I hate the thought of it.. because in an sc card I always have access to my data, but in an cloud storage I will have to use internet, plus there is the entire privacy thing.
Basically the reason is that if there is no SD card in mobile it gives an opportunity to the company to sell their high storage variant at high cost as SD card is not there so user want more storage
sd card must required. when mobile screen get damaged or mobile get dead. you can get your data back from sd card so that this is most important to have sd card.
Micro SD card is a must for backing up of data and photos. At the same time it is better to store some important data either in SSD or a hard disk. Also if a mobile is lost or stolen the data in the memory card is lost permanently. So even it is doubly safe if some important data is stored in the cloud. This can easily be retrieved in a new device.

For me sd card and headphone jack is a must!most better headphones in the market Steel come with 3.5 mm connector and if you see the market properly there are a very less amount of good type c headphones and SD cards are still mandatory because it helps to remove some data from phone storage if necessary.... And it's very urgent for me! ❤️
for me there should be no slot for sd card/sim card and no need head phone jack also should remove wired charger.....Future is slot free and wire free...it's already happening and happy for it

I have 100Gb worth of lossless flac music. I want to use an SD card to store all this, and 3.5mm jack to listen to the HQ audio. Now that companies are ditching these two essential features, I don’t know which good phone I should buy. My only options are budget phones although I can spend more. What a time to live! SD card is used by me to transfer highly important data and keep it as backup , in case the phone dies out or any software mishap. You can't trust these phones with important data. And also its difficult to hack into the memory card, it requires read and write permission. And every company , be it Google or your mobile brand, wants to know what you have stored on your phone.
As per my assumption, one day will come when the smartphone companies will say that " There will be no smartphone in the box, you'll only receive the box by paying a certain lump sum amount and then you have to purchase the phone separately" . Just like some manufacturers are already started to exclude the charger from the box.
I Don't like phones without micro sd card and with hybrid sim slot. Micro sd card should be given also in higher budget range. But need to restrict to use minimum class 10 sd card.

If 3rd party case manufacturers can make a case with multiple sd card support and headphones jack and type c port outside and inside it will be good but in budget within 1000 rs and slim not bulky it will help the phones without sd card n 3.5mm jack because dongles are already available why not integrate that inside a case protection beauty and utility
Microsd cards are extremely useful for phone storage. You can use the phone for more time. This is pathetic to see that sd card slots are missing nowadays
The more funny thing is that almost every Phone still does supports MicroSD Cards. If you have a USB C MicroSD Card Reader, plug the Micro SD into it and then plug the Micro SD Card Reader into the Phone, the Phone accepts the Card without any Problem exactly like before. Even the function with external Storage for Pictures & Videos is still there.
You missed one point I suppose. Earlier we required more storage because we used to store MP3, movies on our phones..now with subscription based online streaming platforms, we don't feel that need anymore.

for me most expensive things in phone is photos and if mobile phone broke in two piece still i can recover my data simply removing sd card but this nearly impossible with internal storage I'm taking about 64gb+ photo data
I have an idea. Take the motherboard out of the broken phone. Find the same model of YOUR phone then put the MB back in it and boom YOUR photos are back 😂😂 Just kidding!!lol
Headphone jacks removal is still acceptable it needs a transition if all brands use type c and remove headphone jack, wired earphones will come with type c only and will get affordable as well. Micro sd is a must

SD card is like carrying useful storage with devices. Agar companies aisa kardein ki 2 variants bana ke dekhein ekk hi model ke ekk with SD card aur doosra without SD card aur dekhein sale kiski zyada hogi. Phir unhe consumer ki need ka sahi pata chalega price difference bhale se SD card wale ka 2-3 hazaar badha dein toh bhi SD card wala variant hi lenge log.
