I saw Inside Out with my family and I remember the impact of the film being somewhat dulled because I was a little distracted with the kids and all that. But the feeling, the vibe I got was enough that I decided to go and see it by myself a week later. I'm glad it was in the middle of the day on a weekday because I was able to bawl my eyes out in relative privacy. I moved a lot as a kid. Maybe not as much as some people, but it was always at around the 4 year mark that we'd pick up and move to a new town. Just long enough to make friends and start to feel established, long enough to start making plans and getting a sense of a future in this place. Then oop, nope, we're moving again, new town, new school, new everything. I remember it was rough, I remember as a kid missing my friends, but it wasn't until I saw Inside Out that hit me just how traumatic it had been for me. The film broke open and exposed a massive amount a pain that I had been holding in for all these years. And seeing Riley at the end with her parents as she breaks down, it's just so overwhelming for me, because while I do have good parents who were good to me, I didn't get to have that kind of a moment with them, where they took me in their arms and tried to understand the hurt I was going through. And it's not just that association, also the revelation at the end about the role of Sadness in a person's emotional wellbeing, it gets me every time as well. So yeah, I agree. Inside Out is a big deal for me. It is my favorite Pixar film by a very wide margin and I don't think that'll change anytime soon.

I'm honored that you would share this. I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one so deeply impacted by it. That's why I love movies and storytelling so much...the amazing potential for impact that they can have on our lives and our emotions.

You do the "masterpiece" justice with your own masterful commentary. Bravo!

what a great analysis!! exactly how i feel about these Scenes but the difference is that only later, actually many years later, i really understand the meaning of this movie and these scenes i liked this movie from the first watch, but i also felt a little unsure about the message and what actually happened when at the end sadness has the memories turning blue and that is a truly amazing film, that can make you think and only later you find out what it really means and it was just before a year that this movie hit me really hard when i myself felt depressed - many thanks for this beautiful Video and authentic appreciation for this masterpiece today it is a movie for me i can watch to get intact with my emotions when i feel empty or cant really let them out

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm so honoured and humbled by your story, and I'm also glad that this video meant so much to you. Inside Out is a very cathartic experience in general (at least in my opinion), and I always recommend that people revisit it again later in their life for the very reasons that you just described.

@@disneymagicfanatic Your reply made my day, I feel a little alone at the moment and therefore RU-vid at the moment means especially much to me, because you can just interact with people around the globe. But it is so rare that someone actually responses, so I am so happy you did and that my comment made you happy ^^ I love the way you talk about it in your video, it is very emotional and I loved how you said some things that I would exactly sign that way. For example I also loooove Michael Giacchino (even though not all his scores, but many) and this soundtrack is one of his best. He is great in delivering rich emotion with just a few notes. My favorite theme from him of this movie is actually the sadness/growing theme which plays when Riley crys at the end. I love how in that moment the music is so slow and vulnerable with only the piano and before that in string variation while we see all of Rileys memories going into blue even though at the moment I haven't watched this movie for a while, I just know deep in my heart how much this movie means to me now and since I feel a little empty right now, it could be a great time to revisit this movie once again I would also love to write with you more, I am also so happy that my comment meant something to you and that you feel the same way about this movie and giacchino :D the scenes you mentioned are also the ones I cry with this movie, even though not always when joy cries but at least when riley at the end cries - this movie has such a great buildup of these emotions - but the first scene in this direction is when bing bong cries and sadness comforts him - I think that is the first scene that makes me ready getting really emotional ^^

Just rewatched the first Inside Out in preparation for the sequel today. Also on an Inside Out analysis rabbit hole on RU-vid.
