Priyanka Chopra welcomed her first child with her husband Nick Jonas via surrogacy. On Mother's Day this year, the couple had announced that their daughter, named Malti Marie Chopra Jonas had spent over 100 days in the NICU before they could take her home. It was an incredibly difficult time in the couple's lives. Now, Nick Jonas has opened up about why they chose to share their daughter's health issues after her birth. Opening up about the announcement that had the internet gushing over Malti, Nick Jonas told People that he wanted to express his gratitude but also share her journey at the hospital. He said, “It's eye-opening in a lot of ways. And I think it was really important for us to just share that. And make sure that people know that whatever their journey is, whether it’s something like we went through or diabetes or whatever challenges might come up, you’re not alone.” He also said that he is grateful to have a wife like Priyanka Chopra by his side and that she was his "rock" during the days after Malti's birth. Back in May, Priyanka Chopra had shared an announcement about Malti's birth in a detailed note. It revealed that Malti had health issues and mentioned, "Every family’s journey is unique and requires a certain level of faith, and while ours was a challenging few months, what becomes abundantly clear, in retrospect, is how precious and perfect every moment is."After the birth of her daughter, Priyanka Chopra went right back to work on her upcoming spy thriller series Citadel. The Russo brothers-backed show will see her star alongside Richard Madden. Her next Bollywood project is Jee Le Zara alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
