Thank you for making this video. I run Pilot Sport 4Ss on my Honda Civic Si and my car handles turns loke nobody's business. Just 2 days ago, I took it to the track for the very first time and it wasn't fast, but I did get it up to 94mph once. The tires had superior handling around curves.
So many things to consider. Is your vehicle mostly city driving, no need for run flats, out on back roads, or remote areas, then get run flats. My understanding on run flats not as comfortable nor as quiet. I can't stand a noisy tire so that is important to me and there are some bad ones on the market.
I purchased Korean made tires called desert storm staggered fitment for my 2015 X5 4.4l. on 20' TSW. The vehicle jerks constantly due to poor quality of the tires. The shop informed me of how sensitive AWD is with BMWs
My BMW X5 came with Pirelli p zero and they are BMW stamped (approved), but heard the Michelin pilot sport 4s are very good but don’t have the BMW stamp. What do you think on this?
4S is a good tire, going from the OE Bridgestone Potenza to generic 4S on my previous Lexus IS-F transformed it in a good way. I have no doubt you’ll love it going from the star rated Pirelli to the generic 4S. If you asked about the Pilot Super Sport ⭐️ vs generic 4S, I would say it’s personal preference. I have the 4S on my M3, and the Star Michelin tire is the PSS. While it’s not as sharp as the PSS, It rides a lot better for daily use.
Stock 21 Michelin is my to go, even I had bad luck for those tires since I had x5m, so easy to got nail in it, every couple month. I bought from Americas tire store, they order for me, its just a bit cheaper from tire rack.
One benefit of run flats over non run flats is the stiffer sidewall. The BMW SUV's come with them to offer similar performance as their performance sedans. Sucks when buying winter tires. In Canada, my X6 "M" has only one option. Pirelli Scorpions on 21" rims are almost $4000. Sometimes I wish I lived in Arizona. Lol

@@justgodriveandfishing8865 we have had production issues since COVID on just about everything, including tires. I am a General Sales Manager at a large new car dealership, and with all of our sources, I had only one option and only one set in stock. If anyone else needs winter rubber for their X6M in my area they are properly out of luck right now. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for the tip on Yoko's, if I need another set I'll get them shipped in from our friendly neighbors down south.
The M variants don’t come with run flats. They have a stiffer sidewall but doesn’t mean it’s a better tire. They are expensive. I would have to consider the driver and needs before I would do runflat.
some of your recommendations is what I would consider instead of the Pzero for my X7 when its time for it. definitely the Continental considering the price as run flat cost 850$ each and continental 410$ each in my country
I am taking delivery of a 2018 x5M soon. I’m in cold weather and the car comes with winter tires on 21” oem wheels. Can I run a 20” square set up on the X5M ? For instance a 20x10 40 offset with 285/40 all around? Roads here kinda suck and the low profile tires day in day out will really affect ride quality.
@@eddiemcars thanks for getting back to me. Just looked at the car (arrived yesterday) and it has 285/35 winter on the oem 21" wheels. Is that ok with the wider rear wheels?... I assume it is because it came from a BMW dealer but you never know
