We relocated to Morelia, Michoacan two years ago. My wife is Mexican and I'm from Reno, Nevada. The culture, the people, the architecture, and of course the food, are all amazing. My wife has family in both Mexico City and here in Morelia. Medical care is great, and affordable. It is true that power bills are lower as well. I've NEVER felt threatened, or have been victimized by any crime in Mexico. I know it happens, but we haven't seen any. It has proven to be the best move I've ever made! VIVA MEXICO 🇲🇽

@@dreamlifeinMexico Hola from Queretaro, Mexico INVADERS would never get here, but USA wants them here to eliminate you, more than you are eliminating each other. I gave suggestions. A word to the wise is sufficient. GET OUT. MOVE TO MEXICO. SENDING WARMTH FROM QUERETARO. Happy I moved to Queretaro in 2021 at 79 for 70% less expensive and safer. PRAYERS sent to my 1942 birth city CHICAGO from Queretaro since 2021. I know that cold weather big time. Thank God for the safety and warmth of this city. RIP. DO NOT ALLOW THE INVADERS TO DESTROY YOU. I was born in 1942 in Chicago Southside Oak Park, Loop Chicago, and Waukegan, and in 2021 Queretaro, Mexico. Over 61 years visiting and living in Mexico, and mainly Acapulco. INVADERS will be in the military, police, security, and all living expenses to eliminate you know who.

Just saw your video. I've been to Queretaro many times for business and have stayed in the Centro area, mostly because it was an easy commute to visit clients and partners. I really liked your video as it was more family oriented. I am trying to convince my wife to consider Queretaro or San Miguel de Allende. One thing I like about Queretaro is there is more to do. I subscribed to your channel based on this one video. Thank you for this production. It made me want to be there now as winter is coming/here where I live in the Northeast.

I saw a quick image about there being 15 international schools in your video. Have you noticed if the schools have teachers whose native language is English or are they bilingual MX teachers? I have 12 years of experience teaching in international schools (IB). We would be immigrating so we would be living off of our Mexican salaries and I would need to be employed by an accredited international school to get paid well and ensure my own kiddos attend an accredited school. TIA! Gonna check out your other vids.

Hello you two! I've been watching both of your channels just to get more foreign perspectives of Central Mexican cities. My mother grew up not too far from Querétaro and the last time I was there was in 2005. I plan to travel to San Luis Potosí and either Guanajuato or Querétaro next summer as a little summer escape. I know how hellish summers can be in Texas because I live right outside of Houston. I hope to maybe meet you both one day either in Houston or down in Querétaro. I just love that region in Mexico not just because of the weather, but because of the culture and history. I like that vibe much, much better than any touristy beach destination in Mexico. I mean, they are nice too, but I like them more as a quick weekend getaway. You guys made a good choice with Querétaro.

You did not mention if an American needs to learn Spanish, fluently, a little, etc. To what extent are native Mexicans in Queretaro fluent in English? Or, do Mexicans know some English, but not enough for a fluid conversation? I think the language issue should always be addressed. Also, are there ex-pat enclaves like in San Miquel de Allende? What if you are a single woman? hard to become part of a group or community, so one has social support?

I would definitely learn as much as you can. It’ll take time but it’s well worth it. Queretaro is not that bilingual overall, but there are some. Excellent video, very informative. My only beef: why do you dress like Texans at the fair? I’ve lived here in Mexico for 9 years and am careful to take cues from the locals-only young kids wear shorts everywhere. It’s a matter of cultural respect. But your enthusiasm is lovely.

@dreamlifeinMexico Год назад
Lol, thank you for the compliment, but on a serious note, (Light-hearted retort) I'm a Texan through and through and I'll dress how I feel comfortable, just like I wouldn't expect anybody to change who they are for me. Plus, we've all seen Mexican men wearing shorts around, but definitely not as much as back home for sure. thanks for your viewership and support ☺️
@Mary-st5ls
@Mary-st5ls Год назад
Yes that’s exactly the American mentality: my rights as an individual above everyone else. And see where that’s gotten us. But of course it’s your choice: I’m only pointing out that stereotypes get reinforced, and may lead to problems when trying to assimilate into a foreign country. I’m so careful not to perpetuate the Ugly American trope for people who welcome us so lovingly. Their cultural focus is on the community as a whole and that’s why I love living here.
@dreamlifeinMexico
@dreamlifeinMexico Год назад

@Mary-st5ls Год назад
Wow. I guess your willingness to escalate with antagonism is my underlying point, it’s called hegemony: nothing to do with shorts. Good luck with your move.

Taking advantage ? You mean foreingers consume in Mexico and help the economy?
@ufosrus

@@dreamlifeinMexico My comment has nothing to do with contributions to the economy. My point is that if you don't bother to learn the language you're an eternal tourist and not an immigrant (expat=immigrant) and your interactions with the locals will remain superfluous. You will live in an "expat" bubble forever living there only for the benefits of low cost of living.

The Mexican government should do something to raise the price for Americans since they get paid in dollars and or have a pension. Foreigners are making it harder for Mexican citizens...

Why not complain to your government who makes Mexican citizens life harder. Expats only help the country in many ways from consuming to touristy. If you want to talk about raising rent in some neighborhoods, yes, there is just some neighborhoods. Whole Mexico? Give us a break.

Do you really want the government to control prices for private businesses? Like it used to be in the former Soviet Union? I am American but I have working in China for 13 year earning CNY and certainly don't have a pension. And I am thinking of moving there with my family it is safe and affordable there.

Now, you don't have any reasons, because you left and bashed Queretaro on your way out smh 🤔 You then said Queretaro was good for realestate investment, when you left, you said Queretaro is not good for realestate investment. This was your big reason to leave. So, that's why I have learned not to trust everything RU-vidrs say. I don't use their content at 100% to make my decisions

We chose Qro is not for real estate investment.I still dont think its good ROI and more strategies can be used here. We are still in Queretaro for many other reasons. Every place is good and not good for someone, good luck on your next stops.

@dreamlifeinMexico in your last video, you said you have moved to Texas. I am moving to Queretaro in three months. I will find out if it fits my needs. True, every city has pros and cons that may fit or not fit everyone. I will find out if I can live with the cons of Queretaro.
