Return of the Jedi came out in 1983. Rancor have only been around for 39 years. New Hope came out in 1977 which was only 45 years ago so I personally have no clue where you're pulling 55 years from.
I love how everytime he says "This one was larger than most other rancors" he proceeds to show clips with them scaling basically the same to smaller than normal rancors in comparison to humans. Love love love the video, it's just odd
The problem animals have in Star Wars is that people feel awkward about having the same animals on different planets (although there's plenty of ways for wild animal species to get spread across the galaxy), and the bulk of planets in Star Wars don't get much revisiting, so we don't see most of the biosphere. Kashyyyk is a rare example where we see different parts of the biosphere because there was all this talk about it being Coruscant but with trees (so most of the surface of the planet is forever shrouded in darkness beneath canopies), but then in Revenge of the Sith we get to see some beaches and oceans. Anyway, I prefer Zillo beasts.
I could imagine with a history as long as the republic's that many different species would be spread throughout the galaxy, both intentionally, and unintentional stowaways. I've always enjoyed the unique animals, especially in the EU.
Well, it makes sense for a Rancor to be owned by a Hutt, since the Hutt Cartel rules over a considerable part of the Galaxy and it's probably relatively easy for them to get one.
I would definitely love to see you dive into more different species of aliens in the star wars galaxy like sarlacs for example or hutts. Loved the video keep up the good work
@@wasuel_gaming7242 yea I think it would be really cool to see some of the different variants of hutts that we have seen through star wars and how they came to be .
There was a Rancor in the second Darth Bane book. It was twisted by a cybernetic plague that turned living creatures into monsters and had a blaster cannon arm, a jetpack and claws that made Bane grateful it was in such disrepair or he might have needed an army to deal with it.
I was at a garage sale last summer , evidently there is a Lego Rancor , there were 3 in a box ... guy wanted 15$ a little kid kept crying to his dad to buy it for him ... as they were leaving l gave my daughter the money, she bought them and ran one of them to the kid in the car... so we have a ( painted) pink Rancor with a tiera , named Sharon... After share and Sharon alike.
My favorite monster alien in the SW universe has been the Krayt Dragon. Usually you don't even see them alive, just gigantic long skeletons left to the bleach in the desert and make you wonder what they were and if there are versions which still survive. It was like finding a giant washed up corpse on a beach; you don't know what it is, it's rare, and if you let your mind wander you start to worry if there are more out there alive and ready to eat you. Can you over more SW monsters through the years? This was so much fun to learn and watch!
I think it was called the Gorloc that was in the OTHER force unleashed game that noone talks about that was hid underneath the arena of a seperatist run planet. we think we just have a sand rancor fight until the Gorloc grabs the damn rancor in one hide, drags it into it's pit, and eats it. Mfer was huge
We need rancors. The galaxy needs them. I freaking love these reptilian monsters!! Also, jungle rancors remind me of sea turtles. I bet they could swim pretty well with those webbed hands
Ah yes, who doesn't remember 1967's famous first appearance of a Rancor in the well-known movie "Return of the future chosen one from ancient past in a different part of the universe".
Star Wars Commander: Rage Rancor, Hunter Rancor, and Shadow Rancor (Admittedly the Rage Rancor was later changed from a red rancor to basically a bull rancor and the Hunter rancor was changed to a Jungle rancor. The Shadow rancor just ended up with red stripes added to it rather than being changed to an existing rancor)
“Before I tell you of the sith spawn, I want to tell you about the spawn-ser of this video” don’t think it was intentional but I want to believe that it was
I like Dilophosaurus (from Jurassic Park) better than Rancor, which is the one spits poisonous venom. What do you think, Michael Jae? Have you seen Jurassic Park movies?
I watched too soon I want the part 2 already dang it Great video I love all the research you've been doing Bringing some excellent lore not talked about as much anymore

Star Wars fans would be happier if every movie was set on a fucking desert planet at this point, but not Jakku coz for some reason that one's bad, not like the one that has a city widely known for its mass lawlesness. Other than yknow, all the law enforcement.
LMAO.... His names Butch, meanwhile in the picture of the comic "SHE" is in it says STOP is Butch, bad GIRL. And you say the Rancor Dragon is your favorite, you messed that all up.
IDK if anyone can relate, but I had some great memories playing star wars connect on the XBOX 360 and using the rancor to just decimate the entire town. You could even use any type, even the flying one, and you would get extra points for eating the storm troopers or citizens.
Star Wars hasn't even been out 50 years yet, so saying "After 55 years" is ridiculous. I'm guessing you meant 45 years as that's how long Star Wars had been out when this released.
You shot your credibility to nothing right out of the gate. Rancor are not FROM Dathomir, they were just domesticated on that planet most famously. Please do better. SMFH
I love the Star Wars animals and I like the Rancor but my favourite Star Wars animals are the dragons in Star Wars there shrouded in mystery and extremely rear
Rancors on different planets, well to be honest, if Rancors are as adaptable as Metroids in the Metroid franchise, it is understandable to see them around, especially with a lot of potential to them due to size and strength. As for other animals, teh equivelent of cattle would certainly be seen more often one would think.
Nope. Jedi didn't come out till 83. Rancors have only existed for 39 years. Regardless, only took five seconds to Google that and I'm not making RU-vid videos. This guy needs to step his game up.
@@KahosSaint thank U brother. I thought my knowledge to be more accurate and I completely agree w/ U on when Fans we're 1st introduced to a Rancor in it's most common form. Stay Gold🍻
