I tell people I started out with nothing and still have most of it.

I sort of agree with you, however, some persons with generational wealth dress in a suite every day. That is just how they have always dressed and how they feel most comfortable. Just like you feel comfortable in your shorts and flip flops

100% agree Jack ! I rarely wear shoes anymore unless someone dies - and yeah what does it matter what I wear. I/we are comfortable in our clothes ( and our own skin) and yeah we reached that "plateau" ourselves and have no stress Thinking rich will get you rich - great video pal - Thanks ! oh and a P/S BE DEBT FREE !

My Daughter got married this past weekend. I had to wear a suit. Everyone said it was the first time they saw me not wearing shorts and a white T-shirt from Walmart. :)

Well. At least I have the mentality. I still miss my nice clothes that are waiting there in my closet for me. But, work, weeds and abatement,… right now, it’s me and my Tractor Supply pants and whatever T shirt or long sleeve…. And only 24 hours in a day.

Not exactly. Money doesn’t mean you have any taste or class! I’m not rich however I enjoy fashion and nice things. I dress beautifully. That’s what I enjoy. I’m not doing this because I’m trying to fake out people into thinking I’m rich. I’m not willing to live my life thinking about how thrilled I am going to be I’m in my 70s with all the millions I have. I have a savings account and investments. But never spending money sounds depressing. You are a simple guy. I’ve seen your wife. Not into her looks or working out. Good for her. Simple.

I have coins worth more than my truck ;D

My former employer was married to a woman who was a Davidson of Harley Davidson. I always remember the words of her father who was probably worth 25 million 50 years ago. He said “It’s not how much money you earn, it’s how much you have left.”

I dress in shorts and Oakley sunglasses, nothing else matters to me. I don't dine out, go anywhere, and see anybody. Just the way I like it.

My great grandfather passed away on his tractor wearing bib overalls… and a massive wad of cash stuffed into that chest pocket of his bibs. I understand the sentiment and completely agree. Personally not there yet, but making strides and setting milestones.

Even my hunting clothes are old and I own a million dollar plus farm. I shop cheap but I love land more.

As u try to accumulate wealth , one can understand skimping on expensive clothes. Once u have wealth - remember u can’t take it with u ( pharaohs found out the hard way} Reward yourself with either nice car or house or clothes / don’t forget charity.

Jack, that reminds me so much of my friends. One of my bosses that I worked for in Sarasota was a building contractor, but he also owned a landscape company that had a contract with the state of Florida to do all the cleanup on the interstates. You know the little guys out there with the gators. Another friend of mine for the last 12 years lived up the street from me here in Murphy North Carolina, but also owns a 3 story home in Marco Island. He decided about 6 years ago to sell his 3/2 1/2 home up here and stay full time down there. He was a pilot for the Air Force in Vietnam, then an air traffic controller in Miami until retirement. He used to buy and sell aircraft along with the yacht he bought for vacation with his wife and kids for a month with a captain on salary and the rest of the year to charter it out based in St. Thomas. Down to earth guy that had me come up to just sit in the driveway 4 days a week and drink cocktails during the summer and bull shit.When my long-time girlfriend passed, I stopped doing the BBQs we would have every other weekend at my house. He is one of many of my friends who are millionaires that you wouldn't know it by the way they dress.

I assumed it was because people who don’t look expensive are less likely to be targeted for theft…

Im ok with not having money i rather not bend my values to the dollar. I dont care to rip people off like most the world is ok with doing to up myself.

My kids call it the grandpa uniform. Blue jeans and a white t-shirt. They dress the grandkids up in similar uniform and we all have a big laugh.

Made it to a comfortable retirement. Thats rich.

Such an awesome video! So much truth in what you say! I agree, peace of mind and simplicity is key. Most of my 20’s I chased after the shiny things. I learned it in my early 30’s that those things don’t matter and working towards everything you’re saying! Keep it up !

Great show! I’m 61 now. I’m a humble happy saver. I watch all my coworkers trying to outdo themselves. They are each probably in $1 million worth of debt. I have no debt. I see the young coworkers spending so much money on custom wheels. They spend more money on wheels than I probably paid for the truck.I drive! I will try to help them more. God bless everyone here. I wish because I am rich was my excuse lol. I just couldn’t care less about brands and stuff.

Such an interesting topic I have a few questions 1. What if the person can afford a Rolex and is financially independent and wants to buy one? Or three piece suits? I read an interview recently of a journalist’s husband who died, and one of his regrets was that he didn’t dress more in a style of his favourite celebrity. I think that we can go the other way and also judge people’s personal self expression which gives them some kind of joy. The reality is the world does judge you on what you wear and maybe they like the reception they receive. I do understand though if they can’t afford it and they haven’t secured their future. By the way I dress pretty scruffy LOL. I had someone questioning whether I had legitimately joined the gym or had snuck and through a side door. But that’s largely because I’m super depressed 2. With respect to personal worth, you seem to discount the idea of leveraging debt but still being a millionaire… Is that something you personally don’t believe in? For example having $3 million in assets but $1.5 million in debt so you’re still a millionaire? 3. What I find more often than people boasting about the material is they boast about their social richness. They managed to get married and have kids and those who didn’t for a large variety of reasons are stigmatised. So I’m kind of getting really sick of that.
