I think marvel is understanding that they can go alt universes and switch it up. It gives them flexibility with their output. and movie direction. I don’t think people will care as much about the same actor as long as the movies are good. And who knows, now it makes seeing a different actor as iron man more plausible. And thats exciting to think.
@@RemyLexington that's a good point. And I also really can't see RDJ agreeing to do something just for the payoff. I really feel he's only agreeing to do this because it's a great story to tell.
I don't think I ever realized how many actors have played multiple marvel roles, that's wild! I definitely see HOW this could work but I am cautiously optimistic for now.
This doom story is pretty cool and he really is Stark as Doom.. somehow Doom figured out a way to switch their consciousness in each other's bodies so Dr. Doom becomes Tony Stark and Tony Stark becomes Dr. Doom like his body or something I can't remember
50/50 on it, just gonna wait till we actually see him as doom, I do feel like everyone is jumping the gun tho. Plus with the mcu making its own changes to things iv just always seen the mcu as its own comic book run instead of an adoption and the changes it makes works most of the time anyway.
That's exactly it. We just have to wait and see and luckily we will know in less than a year what his version of Doom will be like. If Chris Evans can do it with Johnny Storm, why cant RDJ do it with Doom?

Doom is literally an all mask character. RDJ is an all face actor. They can’t do the zoom in on the inside of dooms mask. This will not work because I guarantee they won’t have him masked the entire time.
Cillian was the first one to pop in my head. I just think he's too small. Von Doom must be tall and loom over his victims. Adrian had the right physique. Long arms and legs. You know, like a pro swimmer's physique. Built like Deadpool actor, just not as goofy. Reynolds would never be able to pull the evilness off.
As a casual Marvel fan, I find the RDJ casting to be confusing and odd. This isn't a knock on RDJ, but because of this casting, I'm less interested in the new Doom character.

I disagree. I don't share the same understanding on repeating actors to different character in the saga. Specially if that actor had the popularity that RDJ as Tony Stark. Can you imagine Chris Hemsworth’s Thor as another character in this saga? if actors like RDJ want to evolve or move away from the strong stamp that these long movie sagas have placed on their careers, stepping outside of the Marvel universe would be a good idea. There’s a wealth of fresh talent out there, and it’s time for new stars to emerge, bringing fresh energy and ideas to these franchises instead of recycling the same actors.

@@KingACE2020 I personally don’t think RDJ has that much pull viewership wise. Dr. Dolittle was a prime example of that. I’m just seeing as they don’t want to fuck up again imo.

This is so dumb. There’s a million other actors, why pick the guy that’s already in the universe? How about anyone else. Hell I’d even pick Dolph lundgren, Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Gary old man, Bradley cooper, Sean penn, Brendan Fraser, literally anyone else besides iron man
Let's give Robert Downey Jr ANOTHER $300M. This such LAZY CASTING, grow and give the opportunity to another actor. Your comparison are not equivalent. Ironman and Dr Doom are major central and stand alone charteracters in the Marvel universe.
