I love how the guardians faced all of their villains, in 1 they distracted him with dancing then used the power stone, in 2 they had to go inside of ego to blow up his brain and kill him, but in 3 they just jump him, kick the crap out of him, take his face then arrest him. It's so funny.
The dam holding my tears burst without me knowing when his team hugged him & he came back to life 😭. I predicted this movie would break me & it did. I knew it would make me cry, it's the 1st Marvel movie that did.
What makes their death worse than any other death in the MCU is that they were innocent. They were innocent little animals who thought they were moving on to a better world; they’ve been tortured their whole lives, but still had hope things would get better. That and I just hate seeing animals hurt in movies and in real life.
Just imagine how all the animals who are tortured and killed everyday by the billions for food and research. Think if that pain in these characters. They feel the same pain. Just saying.
@@RiPnShtUp I know your point is likely more aimed at the eventual killing of them, which is a moral issue I can respect, but I feel it's still important to point out that probably 90+% of animals raised and used for food are *not* tortured. In fact it's usually the opposite. They're the lifeblood of the farmers raising them, and harming them in any way would be actively detrimental to their business. Many of them pour huge amounts of money to keep them happy and healthy, and even the eventual slaughter is done humanely - such that they DON'T feel pain.
Go back to GotG vol 1 where they arrest Rocket and read out his chargesheet. Next to Associates they mention LYLLA. She was there from the beginning all along 😢
Tony died like a warrior. He had the chance to fight. Lylla didn't, neither her friends. Thats why it is such a sad conclusion. They didn't even had the chance to see the plants, the water, and maybe not even the sky when alive. At least, the little she could do, was to finnaly hug his friend. But even that makes it sad to the memory.
I love tony stark and it sucked seeing him die especially after growing up watching the mcu from the start. However, animal cruelty just hits different so those scenes actually made me tear up. I would say seeing what rocket had to go through as a defenseless baby is more heart breaking than tony’s death since he is an adult who chose to sacrifice himself. Tony did it willingly unlike the animals who have no choice but endure the pain and go through physical and mental distress. I know they’re just movies but it doesn’t take away from the emotion felt.
Nebula's new arm has a metal color very similar to Bucky's vibranium arm. In my head cannon, he used the vibranium and the tech from it to make a new arm for Nebula.
I read a post about how, since Batch 89 was given machine attachments against their will, the idea of prosthetic attachments that specimens can just take off and put on whenever they please amuses the hell out of Rocket. Probably explains the "complicated" answer from Gunn. They remind him of what he and his friends could have absolutely had if the High Evolutionary was more considerate and just a little smarter
It's probably a subconscious regression to the seemingly less emotionally troubled days of his childhood, when he did not have to live with the guilt yet. This combined with a raccoon's instinct to collect things. James Gunn really put some thought into this.
I think it goes deeper than that. If we think about it, Rocket has prosthetics and his body cannot function without them. They're in-grown. He cannot just... Take them off. I think the idea of being able to just decide if you want to have a leg right now or not seems very unreal and fascinating to him. His brain might have unconciously fixated on the idea of getting rid of everything that the high evolutionary "gave" him. Maybe seeing detached limbs and knowing their owners are still alive gives him some sort of twisted comfort

So you can say im speculating more what the writers intended to tell us about what his brain is doing I really don't know why you're surprised because it's completely normal to analyze media and character's behaviors/internal reasons for certain behaviors and there are plenty of "movie/character breakdowns" videos on RU-vid doing exactly that... Speculating on made up characters 🤷 so like
@@RoseBushThorns588 Unpicking the motivations and emotions of characters is EXACTLY what you should do. It's called character analysis. It applies to well written movies as well as great literature. After all Heathcliffe (Wuthering Heights), Richard III (Shakespeare), Scrooge (Dickens), to name a few, are all 'made up' characters. 😎
Tony's death was sad and I also remember being really sad when Peter was begging to tony before turning to dust but in my opinion when rocket turned around and yelled after seeing his dead friends it was emotional. Like the voice actor behind rocket nailed that painful scream. So much so it took me back to when my mother passed and I found her at 18 years old. It's ok if you don't agree with me thinking it was the saddest mcu moment.
When he saw the prosthetic arm that item reminded him of Lila I feel bad for him he really cared for his friends and that’s why he always collect they things that reminded him of them
I’m not the kinda guy to cry but this movie was almost there. Storylines were great, and the whole thing revolving him and his freinds and the animals are very sad
holy shit, my girlfriend was fuckinf bawling her eyes out trying not to start screaming in the movie theatre, and i was just sitting there with my jaw dropped. how THE FUCK does anyone have such a horrifically sad story. i'm almost crying thinking about it it's just man what a beautiful movie
I had heard about this case when it first happened. Was absolutely horrified that someone could do such a thing to those poor children being young myself… It wasn’t until you showed the photo of Yoselyn that I realized I’ve heard about this case before.
Or prosthetics are just really hard to make, and since rocket is a smart person who understands the effort put into the prosthetics, he would probably appreciate them
The bad thing is that i was expecting Teefs and Floor to actually survive and Lyla would end up dying. My reasoning? Teefs is modded for speed while Floor is modded for agility. Rocket is where those mods meet in the middle. Lyla unfortunately isnt built for speed. They needed to be quick to get out of that ship. So bc of this. I half expected either teefs or floor to make it out alive with rocket. Or at least make it on to the ship before getting shot and then dying from their wounds.
My brother and I were wondering how Teefs would make it. 😅 It's a huge walrus on a wheel chair! Rocket, Lylla, and Floor, I can see since they are small enough to sneak, but Teefs?
@@jocabedrivera7756 believe it or not Teefs isn't that big by walrus standards. A walrus weighs about nearly a ton. Teefs without his mods probably weighs less than a 100 pounds.
I think it’s because High Evolutionary and Rocket basically had the same thoughts and knowledge when he made Rocket, so he was automatically “programmed” to like those things.
I get they want to add more character development to rocket but now watching the first and second film the jokes that was made about artificial body parts now just feel sad and depressing I feel like it takes away from the comedy that the first two film are known for
Rather than taking away, I see it as a reframing. James Gunn gave us 2 damn near perfect comedic superhero space dramas. The third allows us to explore those 2 films through a lense of deep character appreciation. Rather than being comedy forward, now many jokes and moments that at first glance would've been void of meaning, are now testaments to our heroes pasts. It doesn't take away, it adds and reframes.
i dont think so... both feelings can apply at the same time. its happy sad sort of things like that which just proves how deep a character Rocket actually is. more fleshed out as a person than many other characters in any movie. real thought went into every part of him. makes him more real than some people irl imo.
In Guardians 1 we see Lylla mentioned as one of Rockets associates. It was a cute easter egg at the time. However, if she didn't make it out of the labs, how could anybody have known this, besides from Rocket himself, who was at the time wrecked with survivor's guilt?🤔
@@Dremag_Gaming maybe they know of Lylla as an associate because Rocket may have written things about her, and i understand in gotg 1, the prisoners were searched when they were captured. so maybe that's how the list was made and the guards read something about someone named Lylla, so Lylla's name on the list. Who's to say Rocket didn't write letters to his love interest after her death and keep them with him? just a thought.
I've always felt that Rocket was therapeutically trying to remove the machine parts from himself, but couldn't do that, so he made up for it by taking it from others.

I hate the part in the film where they were all in heaven and rocket thought he got his friends killed and he was like, ‘can I come too?’ Lila was like ‘sure! But not yet’ because floor and teefs were there aswell 😭😭😭
He literally said “I don’t need the leg, DID HE LOOK FUNNY HOPPING AROUND ON ONE LEG?” It was literally a joke, he just wanted to see some dude hobble around on one leg
Did you know that teefs had prostetic eyes that's why rocket wanted the eye llayla had prostetic arms that's why he got the prostetic arm floor had prostetic legs and he wanted a leg I just realised that
One correction: Rocket and the rest of "Batch 89" were never on Counter-Earth -- Counter-Earth was where the High Evolutionary planned to put his "perfect" creations, and he didn't consider Batch 89 to measure up to that. It was Batch 90 that was intended to populate Counter-Earth.
It sad because of the fact that they where ripped apart and sown together as cyborgs in agony and pain with out their will and where defenseless, was heartbraking.But at the end of all their hopes they are only to be called trash and die next to their cages where they hoped for a better life and an escape from the maddness is more heart wrenching than Tony's death. All they wanted was to be free from torture and pain and to find peace, joy and freedom from this place they didn't even want to be in. They where innocent but tortured in every way thinking this would qaulify them to the new world that they always fantasied about. But died like their lives meant nothing after all that pain and false hope *That's why this is vey sad*
