In short: RE engines have longer connecting rod, that mean low RPM thus by not producing high temperature. Bigger engine due to big connecting rod means more space to accomodate fins on the engine thus by making it an efficient air cooled engine. Also, Oil/Liquid cooled tech is expensive and complex
Great, accurate, informative video as always! As far as I know Indian armed forces ordered this motorcycle Royal Enfield in the 1950's because of it's very good torque that it produces. Because this bike with a strong, metallic, durable body and big tyres is able to carry load at almost any kind of rough, challenging terrains, with good mobility.... This was the reason it has been used since time immemorial in the services to carry load and for patrolling at border areas.
Today's Royal Enfields are made for the masses. The durability is nowhere close to the original ones. Their new J series 350cc engine might be refined now but still produces way less torque for the size of the engine. The torque it generates is the least when compared to its rivals. Cruisers need torque
Hi If engine fins and oil sump bottom are clean and you are getting heat coming out from that, while engine is smooth, then it is very good. But if engine fins & oil ump bottom are dirty and you don't feel heat but the engine is harsh then this is not good. Even for liquid cooling, more heat comes out but it is the design that the flow of heat will reach your legs or not. If you ride Jawa classic/42 then your leg will almost blow up.
@@sujaybiswas783I recently rode a yezdi adventure, and I could have easily made tandoori near the engine. And this is with a dedicated cooling system.
Why Liquid Cooling is not required for existing Royal Enfiled bikes:- 1. Limited revs.. Maximum of 7500rpm.. 2. Low Compression Ratio.. Less than 10:1.. 3. Less volumetric efficiency.. i.e, only 47.4Ps out of a 650cc engine OR only 20.4Ps out of a 350cc engine.. So no strain on engine.. Having said this.. This is all past.. They are bringing their new Himalayan with a 450cc, Liquid cooled engine for the first time with about 40Ps power!.. So times are changing 🤷♀️
@@myselfyuvi so true even during the old model times had a JAWA 250cc which could easily take on the bullet in every area short speed burst, top speed, climbing of slopes etc. the new Jawa, Yezdi and Honda H'ness also beats the Enfield 350 anytime in all areas. The fan base is only for the engine sound and the looks definitely not for the technical aspect
RE City ride me bhi heat hoti hai bhaiya...Maine 2 RE models chalae hain...chahe kitane bhi fins ho engine par.... New classic 350 me bhi aur 2018Electra me bhi yahi issue tha...coast cutting k chakkar meh liquid cooling nahi deti RE.
@@ChessCat1500 Lol, Avarage illogical RE lovers 🤣, Because You don't even know Those 650 series comes with shorter stroke pistons . Phir bhi 170 kmph touch karne pe Wobble karti hai, Uss brand ko lord maane walo apne niche ghamand ghusake so jao !
Main issue with re is it's engineering but Honda is Honda Japanese technology, re runs on fuel of nostalgia.cb 350 same 350 cc has greater torque and power as well as less heating issue re need to design it's engine in a more efficient way.
Why RE doesn’t give liquid cooled in 650 engines when it is giving in upcoming model Guerrilla 450. Is it the possibility that in future RE can give liquid cooled option in 650 segment as well?
@@prahaladadharsh9766 my point was that oil and liquid cooled engines also emit the same amount of heat into your legs because at the end even they have to radiate the heat in the air. Plus yes i have ridden royal Enfield bikes and wasn't impressed by the quality or the ride feel so don't own one
@@prahaladadharsh9766 it also depends on the bike footpeg placement if you notice almost all royal Enfield bikes have footpegs extremely near the engine, hence you feel the heat more towards the feet. I ride a pulsar 250 and have my toes on the pegs so my feet are much further from the engine. So is the case with the rtr....
Its all about compression ratio, liquid cooling is required in high compression ratio engine because high compression ratio means it can rev upto 10-12k rpm whereas normal engines tends to cut down at 9-9.5k rpm
Very well explained, super Ryan 👍please explain why hunter 350 engine heat very easily....?I take its ride for first time but experience very heating issue .....please explain....
sir main reason hai price. Nah ki y sab. heating ka issue bht aata hai. long stoke is not the only reason sir. i am a product manager and automobile engineer main reason is the money if RE fits radiator. the price will have to go up by 50k atleast 50k is the main reason sir
Hey . Awesome video! Just a few questions 1. If adding liquid cooling increases cost, then why are there cheaper bikes with liquid cooling available in market? 2. Why do they always need to be 350 cc?
You're absolutely right! I've also same question! If liquid cooling system is too much expensive & out of the budget for the mass market..Then why Bajaj offers liquid cooling in Dominar 400,even it's have more power, torque & cubic capacity?
A comapny do cost cutting in something and give another things like re gives mostly things of metal ... ya toh metal build le lo aur reliable engine ya fir radiator le lo sab ceaje ek sath nahi milta bro 😅
Agreed Sir, I'd Electra for year's. Sold it due to medical conditions, now I'm fit for ride's again. Loved Shep and height of tbx, Question is 350 or 500X
Sir, maine recently bullet 350 electra purchase kiya h just because it was the last RE model to have a kick start. But now mai confused hoon ki yeh kick kisi kam ki bhi hai ya nahi? I mean fuel pump ke bina to kuchh kaam nahi krega. Please kucch aaisa batao jisse purchase worth it lage.
I have splendor 2016 model and i have used hero genuine engine oil, now i am using gulf pride engine oil. About performance is not good. Starting 200-400km is good smoothness after 500km smoothness goes away and hard gear sift. And all thing is ok like chian lube, air pressure etc. Plzzz suggest me a good engine oil along with engine oil gradee and company plzzzx
Bro but in foreign countries there was a bike from Yamaha which was RZ350 which had a liquid cooled engine and Kawasaki's KZ1300 was also a liquid cooled engined bike
Bhai pata nhi mujhe torque ka feel kyu nhi ata😂 sabhi bike acceleration dene se uth jata hai🤔😅 fark kaha hai but meine yamaha R15 se drkha ki hum trip pe gye sabhi oillion k saath the ...mein 2nd gear pe uchi dhalan uth rha tha half throttle pe woh mid pe ja k 1st gear pe dalna pada
Company loot ti hai royal Enfield...bcoz Indian customers ko knowledge nhi h...Indians bade engine dekh kr le lete h ye ni dekhte technology ksi h😂... Indians ko lgta h value for money bike h royal Enfield ki
It's an international brand by the way look at the sales in Europe. Character of the bike is what makes this legendary brand grow and thrive over all these years.
