Why Sarah Jessica Parker Wanted Kim Cattrall In 'And Just Like That' Season 2 

As a 55 year old woman, I appreciate a show talking about issues women of our age goes through. There are plenty of other shows geared towards the 30 year olds. Unfortunately entertainment industry don't find 50 something sexy or worth targeting but they forget the 30 year olds 20 years ago are older now. We would like to see our demographics represented.

5:20 she’s asked about bringing Kim Cattrall back. You can tell she’s careful with her words so as not to direct any attention to how Kim initially felt about Sarah and the cast. She answered it perfectly and professionally. Kim Cattrall “Samantha” is the most iconic character of the whole series. You say Sex and the City and most people would exclaim, “OMG I love Samantha.” Hopefully this might open the door for Kim to maybe even consider a bit more for this series reboot into season 3. It’s also clear that Kim agreed to it only on the basis of shooting it without the other actresses.

To me, the characters in this show are so much like the actresses who play them that interviews like this blur the line. When she mentions Charlotte and Miranda or talks about Samantha, I forget that I'm watching SJP and think I'm watching Carrie Bradshaw lol

i love what she said about her daughters “it’s not the way they wish to walk through the door and im here to support that” or smth along those lines.. i think thats such a beautiful sentence 💜

Such class. Living in the West Village, I see SJP once a week, at least. She always hello to me and my dog as we live on her block. She does not know my name but she knows I am a neighbor and she is a real sweetheart.

I love this show and I love that they’re continuing with their current lives. The first season was jolting in so many ways; Big, the changes in the characters over the years, how different their lives are now, the stuff they go through, but that’s how life is. We’re only young once. I’m thrilled they didn’t make just a “mature” version of SATC. I may be the same person, but my life isn’t at all the same as it was in the early 2000s, and it’s the same for them. I do hope they get to lighten up a bit more in the 2nd season, though.

I love the way SJP wears her necklaces pulled to the side (I saw her do this before, with a necklace pulled to the side tucked in her bra). That's a cute, clever idea so the necklace doesn't distract from the top. .... And I think when Kim Cattrall appears onscreen, many fans watching from home will jump out of their seats and give her a standing ovation! I think the show starts tomorrow, and damn, I'm so busy, but it's on my list for sure! 💓💞

I loved Carrie in both series. I lost my husband at 49, he wasn’t even sick, there one minute and gone in a second. The most real moment in the show was Carrie trying on bigs wedding ring and nearly losing it while washing her hands. Meeting up with Aidan and getting back with him. It is all very realistic for young widows.

Looking forward to the return of "Sex & The City!" Big time!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely hated "and just like that" season 1 as it was being presented but by the end of the season when I looked back on it and after also seeing an interview with Cynthia Nixon, where she reminded everybody that it was never supposed to be Sex and the City, it took on a different meaning for me. I then appreciated it a little more. Think they overdosed on the woke theme as it was almost forced. And what they did to Steve just completely annihilated any hopes of him having a good run. But I do think there were some good things about it and you have to get away from thinking that it should be like the original series. These are different Folks at a different stage in their lives and have evolved.

So, literally the entire cast, every guest star, every crew member, every writer and every producer happily came back to work with SJP again, but Kim Cattrall didn't. And yet the public immediately blamed it all on SJP. That would require one to believe that the problem wasn't Kim, and that it was everyone else. That just doesn't make sense. SJP has a well-established reputation of being a very kind, generous and respectful person.

So i just saw episode 1 (bcuz i am so excited to see kim's cameo as sam like i felt like i had to see the entire season 1 to see how it will build up to that sweet finale with SAMANTH JONES' back in AJLT) and I have to say that I agree that it was cringey and NOT GOOD like wtf was that ending?!? Why didn;t carrie call 911?!?! HE WAS STILL MOVING! Like wtf was that?!?! Was Carrie Bradshw that stupid?!?! Shame on you michael patrick king! AND THE WAY THEY DID SAMANTHA DIRTY! the "WOKE MOMENT" thing - It' sucks because that CHE character seems like a very good actress! She's hot as a butch female. IT's the WRITERS', DIRECTOR'S and SJP's fault! It's one of the worst first episode I have ever seen! If not for SAMANTH coming back, I wouldn't continue watching. SATC was excellent, this new show is just awful, far too many new characters, which make for weak episodes as they need coverage of everyone. Also falling into the trap of wokeness ensuring they have every race, gender, and sexuality. Big and Samantha help make SATC great, two absolute bosses, who were funny, charming and successful who you rooted for. Killing Big purely for a new plot, as well as Miranda and Steve, is lame. Miranda at no point ever suggested she might be gay, something you know as a kid, not suddenly at 50 LOL. They wrecked several story lines that we spent years watching build up, simply so they could do a reboot/continuation, and a poor one at that, and ratings prove it.

How is it that Kim Cattrall is appearing in the new series? Last I heard, Kim Cattrall had nothing good to say about Sara Jessica Parker. Miss Cattrall publicly lashed out at Miss Parker when Miss Parker sent Miss Cattrall a sympathy card when her brother died. Miss Cattrall stated that Miss Parker is a phony and wants everything for herself and that the sympathy card was for publicity.

If Kim wasn't gonna comeback this show was gonna get canceled. Thats why Sarah & hopefully the rest of that cast decided finally apologize to Kim after all these years of mistreatment! 😒 Am sorry but Kim's character MADE Sex & the City lets be fucking honest cause none of y'all could make this show work without her character being on the show, obviously!

...ACK. "Carrie, Carrie, Carrie !". Yes, i know it was SJP's interview. Still, the social politically corrective-ness of covering Kim Catrail's forthcoming appearance in AJLT this season (2), was hard to digest (like trying to guzzle honey). Seemed like it was challenging for SJP to talk about anything else except, ah, herself/Carrie. Yes, i know that makes sense that SJP can knowingly speak for/of herself, but SJP is not shy about presenting/expressing her vanity. Heres the awakening, SJP has an obvious (to us who are gifted w/a personal physical/emotional messaging inner self) need to promote herself as "more". Kim, on the other hand, does not have that need (to my reading), and has, through her performances as Samantha, inherited a "cult(?)" fan following that SJP/Carrie, does not have. No puffy dress, scarfed hat, or stiletto spiked shoe seems to have outshined Samanthas lasting/impressive presence. I mean, the excitement of Samantha's/Kim's retirn is carrying AJLT at the moment. Its gotta hurt. Unfortunately, I relate to SJP. I luv the limelight, and can't stand competition.

Cynthia Nixon had a horrified look on her face when ABC GMA Deborah Roberts brought up in interview. Kim Cattrell has a new show coming out same week and she gave in to give her new show some PR. PLUS, it is a dumb cameo---how is that a payoff for the audience. She doesnt share scenes with ANY of them...........Truth be told it was NEVER SJP idea, Cattrells PR probably reached out to them so she could tailgate PR for her show.......They should have killed Samantha off too.
