McCarthy Uniforms has proudly served school uniforms to Canadian students for over sixty years. Learn about our belief in the 5 S's of school uniforms.
Why are they giving trousers to males and skirts to females and hypocritically calling it uniform? How much leg does a school require a female student to show? What happens if they show more leg than is required by the school?
I mean schools that have uniforms don't let students in class if they aren't wearing the sanctioned clothing.. so can we talk about how this actually emphasizes appearance and obediance over actual academic improvements or.. nah?
Why do you lose creativty when you cant wear what ever you like? I went to school without uniforms or dress codes during my years in school. Me and some other kids who could not afford to choose what we wanted to wear was bullied in school for our clothings. We didnt have modern or popular brands like the wealthy children. Especially during Sports in school and ski trips this was really horrible for us who did not have wealthy parents. I and also others even sometimes ran of from school to not even go to the Sports or go on ski with class because we were treated different because of our belongings both from adults and other children. Even if not talking about myself i feel bad for the others. Going to school should be a matter of learning not what to wear. If you cant show of personality in other ways then through out your clothes you have a issue right there.
@The secular humanist When you're in an institution, you have to conform to it. It actually help people to differentiate work/professional/school life and personal life
@Tristen Lewis but "his own" is grammatically correct. In the way that they had used "his own" can be referred for both woman and men. Ever heard of the saying "to each *his* own" or "the last *man* standing" or a simple "hey *guys* ". You have definitely used one of these phrases when ever referring to any of your lady friends. Or in documentaries when they say something like " *Man* has evolved over the years....."
Those 5 S’ are fake. It makes us people dependent on others making choices for us. We care about our social appearance and I know those uniforms suck. Just let me get into a t-shirt and I’ll be fine.
Daniel Beezer I’m not even offended but you could of said your opinion about this. You needed this to work to? So why don’t you say that in a nicer way instead of saying “ shut the fuck up I need this for work “
With uniforms, students unique personalities shine? No no you’ve got it incorrect, school uniforms make every student look the same, in what way is that unique? It’s the complete opposite of what is said in this video. Also because of uniform, students cover up their personalities that they would show through clothing.
S: savings litterally means parents have to buy a £100 blazer and 2 sets of clothes. school clothes and non school clothes in conclusion, you spend 2x the amount of money BULLSHIT
Is this from a school? Cause those kid’s uniforms are...ew. And the child’s won’t learn how to choose out clothes, that is true bc I can’t and there are articles about that Personality doesn’t shine,it gets locked in in some clothes Do I need to put some links?...
The people hating on school uniforms must also understand that even in Military or any other Mature Organisations also wear uniforms. What makes one think that by not wearing a uniform one could be so much better? Issues like wanting to stand-out, be unique or be different from the rest just by wearing a different clothing makes no sense. It all boils down to self-esteem. Clothes does not make the man, manners do. As kids we are obliged to put on uniforms not to be controlled or dictated, that is regarding the educational system, not the uniforms, but to understand unity and ingrain in ourselves the teachings of the school. We are taught core values and the uniforms remind us of that. The uniforms teaches us how to grow into mature people. Please do not bring your fashion statement with long hairs and piercings, and start showing around who's boss. Schools are a place to learn not a modelling place.
Many people dont wanna buy things they want to just wear anything they want cause its expensive i mean i respect your opinion but is buying a uniform that important.
So you're saying that a theif can't just wear the same uniform.. Yeah ok. And wait, not being distracted with trends? Lol that's our discussion during lunch, with or without uniform. Yet, no distraction occurs. Harmony. You're saying that rich kids can't brag with expensive accessories, or talk about their wealth during school, or even after school. They still can brag with a new uniform while poor kids can't. New phone, new dad's car, new driver. It just doesn't make sense. Debates in the morning about what to wear?? Leave this on me it's my business thank you for caring for my time that you eat 8 hours of it only to send me home overwhelmed with facts that I will forget after the test. Give us self expression and individuality, factory-training centers
School uniforms are ugly I want to wear my own clothes, my school is one of the most spensive schools in the place I live so that means parents have enought money to give the children good clothes most students we dont like school uniforms since they dont look good and also it makes some students feel unconfortable, for example girls having to wear skirts, not only that but also the fact of having restrictions with how to use it, having to wear a tie is uncomfortable or at least for me it is, sometimes the colors of the uniform are bad in my school case the uniform is green and brown, at least my school allows students to wear jackets but in countries like the US I've heard that in some schools it is forbiden. The schools uniform in most schools are just ugly and uncomfortable to wear, I preffer wearing my own clothes rather than the uniform, other thing is that some times some students have bad behabiours and leave a bad name to the school, students will focus on trends and will think the uniform is un fashionable, the uniform does not help to bring harmony to the school since having a uniform wont stop bullying or anything
I'm from Austria and school uniforms are just so weird to me. Here in Austria you can wear whatever you want. Really everything. I've never even worn a white shirt to school lol
Couldn’t students just wear lanyards with a photo on it. ( that would be a good alternative to uniforms) also when people say that wearing your own clothes distracts you from learning I would say the opposite as you are comfortable instead of really uncomfortable
@@andreasanchez3557 it went well actually. Only a lot of people are against school uniforms, so it was hard to find good arguments in favor of them. but i actually really like school uniforms so i was kind of passionate when talking about them haha
@@andreasanchez3557 i totally understand that choice . i think school uniforms look really cute, it's a pity that in my country we dont have school uniforms but if we had the choice i would absolutely wear them because it would save me from a lot of stress in the morning haha
0:41 what saved money??? Our school uniforms are shitty as fuck. They rip after 2-3 wears, they're like 10 times more expensive than regular clothes and they're really uncomfortable. It's not worth it at all.
My cousin ( raised in the US) got bullied a lot by rich kids for having cheap clothing and no fashion. But me ( raised in India) never got bullied because everybody, despite rich or poor, wore the same clothing. Also, our school gives our unfor a few days before the new session starts. So no money waste And to the people who are saying schools uniforms are unfashionable, school is for studying, not for fashion.
Ah yes a company that literally sells school uniform is telling what is good and what not, we know every thing ya'll said was for your profits and not neutralism
I realized today that it is utterly absurd to try to self-express with clothes. People are trying to fast food order relationships by self-expressing visually their personalities instead of conversing with people. But, the expressions are all either abstract, or shallow, and will not land you a good relationship. Why is it that people are always either trying to deceive as the basis of their relationships, or cut the chatter to keep things as shallow, and unclear as possible? Answer: People believe themselves to be unlovable. I think school, and work places should enforce uniforms, because clothing self-expression is a load of low self-esteem crap, and people need to CONVERSE to actually get to know eachother.
School uniforms are ugly and uncomfortable, like people believe that not wearing a uniform affects their education, it actually doesn’t. And don’t go cry saying “but it stops bullying”, it doesn’t, people still get bullied for wearing the uniform. So don’t cry in the reply section to change my opinion.
1. Strip all individuality from them. So when they are adults, they will will be watered down, human beings with no personality whatsoever. 2. Require them to buy an expensive uniform set. Because shirts with your logo on it, really scream success.(Plus, it’s free advertising too!) I’m glad they never get dirty or worn over time, and kids won’t get upset when they have no clean uniforms in the morning. 3. Let’s take some uncredited “studies” and pass it off as an excuse to turn the next generation into worker drones in a job they hate going to everyday. 4. Neglect our students and watch them as a number. Don’t get to know each one by name, and just have the mindset of “NO TIE!!! BAD MAN!!!” 5. Try to stop bullying by making kids wear the exact same thing. Yeah, cause kids won’t bully each other about skin issues, height, academic abilities, facial features, or disabilities. As an addition, girls are probably subjected to a very strict dress code, and the guys are not. These uniforms are very problematic and troublesome for students. Don’t just think about yourselves, think about your students well being.
I agree with this 100%. In my school not only we have an expensive school uniform but, no makeup, no accessories (earrings, necklace etc) they also banned hairbands on wrists becasue it's a "fashion trend" like tf
@@novothesia1619 oh my god so you take 5 hours to tie your hair. R u dumb. A teacher is your guide. Don't argue with them. If you don't learn manners in this age then you will be a mannerless girl. Uniforms brings unity and responsibility.
