You have explained it pretty well on the pros and cons of a used car. I have been searching for a good used car since more than 1 year. Most of the times I observe that the prices are on higher especially at the used car dealers. Most of them are taking the advantage of tthe rise in brand new car prices hence it is very tough to get a value for money car that justifies its age. Around 20 days ago I had checked Ritz Zxi 2014 single owner at a used car dealer. The dealer is really genuine he gets really well maintained cars. I even checked the service history record myself by getting it from the service center. All the service were done on time, but it was driven 90,000+ km and the price quoted was ₹3.50 lakhs and even after the negotiation was not ready to go below ₹3.45 lakhs. I am a new driver & have shortlisted some cars, would like to know your suggestions since you are an experienced person when it comes to maintaining & driving cars.
In near future I don't have any plans to buy a new car so would stick with the used car for some years because the usage of the car would be only on weekends for short trips. Hardly it will cross 3000 km/year on odometer. Since I am a new driver I am looking for a car that has got better visibility, good handling and one that can driven well on narrow roads. Like a compact one. Initially my budget was ₹2.5 lakhs but checking the price of even old cars I am ready to extend by budget and get a relatively less used vehicle (like 6-7 years old) Few options are : 1. Beat petrol (2011 model onwards) I heard good things about this car and this will be available under the budget of ₹1-2 lakhs at max. 2. Hyundai i10 (heard that the steering feedback is too vague and it is better to go for a grand i10) 3. Grand i10 asta optional 2014 second owner 65,000 km driven available directly with owner for a price of ₹3.20 lakhs 4. Honda Jazz V MT petrol 2016 second owner driven around 62,000 km available directly with owner for a price of ₹4.50 lakhs 5. Ignis 2020 first owner driven around 36,000 km available directly with owner after negotiation for around ₹5.20 lakhs (I think it can be negotiated further). He had priced it for ₹5.50 lakhs. 6. Looking for a Ritz vxi or Zxi as well if available under ₹3 lakhs 7. Ford freestyle titanium petrol 2018 second owner 52000 km driven available directly with owner for ₹3.80 lakhs. 8. Honda Brio All these cars are available in another state as my city is at the border of the Karnataka. So will have to pay extra charges like ₹20,000 for paper work. If getting it transferred to Karnataka registration it would cost atleast 50,000 road tax. The prices of used cars are too high in Karnataka so people in our city prefer to get it from the neighbouring state. A Honda Brio 2017 VX MT from Karnataka itself is available first owner 83000 km driven but price quoted by the dealer is ₹4.90 lakhs. I feel the usage is on the higher side for a 7 year old car.
Hi Vaibhav, 1. 3.35L would be a good deal for the Ritz. However, if the condition and service history is good, then 3.45L makes sense. 2. Based on your requirements, I won't suggest you to go for Ritz. The visibility is not good enough. I recommend the following cars: a. Hyundai i10- once you get a hook of the steering wheel, it won't be much of an issue. b. Grand i10 asta c. Ignis d. Freestyle- it's a very good deal. Make sure to conduct a thorough inspection before making a decision. Note: - Try to avoid second owner cars if possible. - Since you will be using the car for some years, aim for a car that's no more than 6 or 7 years old. Coincidently, we will be uploading a fresh video next week on this particular topic, so you'll gain more clarity then.
@@KilometersUnlimited thank you sir, I have noted your suggestion. Will stay tuned for the upcoming video for sure 👍 Your opinion on Jazz if compactness is not a big concern ?
@@KilometersUnlimited okay sir Would you recommend Eon dlite+ 2012 model ? Since it is 800 cc engine I am a bit skepticle about it. Would like to know your thoughts. 1,08,000 km driven single owner Is available for ₹1.50 lakhs Also your opinion on Brio VX(O) automatic 2017 42000 km driven single owner. The price quoted is ₹5.50 lakhs.
Unfortunately used car dealers do not know about depreciation. I checked some Pune-Mumbai cars and they are selling 5-6 year’s old cars to current ex-showroom rates. If you know some reliable dealers please suggest few.
Hello sir, I would suggest going for an SUV. It will be a good option for driving in hilly areas and tackling steep inclines, bad roads, sharp turns, etc. Just keep a few things in mind when choosing the car: - High ground clearance - Good torque - Accurate steering and better handling - 4WD/AWD is a plus The rest depends on your budget and requirements. However, if you are very tight on budget, you can also consider Alto or Etios. I have already explained the pros and cons of buying a used vs new car. Still, if you have any specific doubts, do let me know. Thanks.
