Although I live in a deep red state, I'll vote, but I know it won't really count. In any case, it's so frustrating to hear that one or two states might decide who will be our next president. We need to abolish the electoral college so every American has an equal vote. Why should a ballot in PA be more important than yours or mine?
Fetterman's attitude is perfect. It's hard. But that's the way we like it. And Kamala will earn her presidency with the help of super friends of democracy like him.
We’re I live in PA also in the north east corner it’s all trump signs. But you go to the city’s it’s all Kamala signs. I agree about the electoral process is BS. Believe me you’re vote does count and vote blue
the damage VD Vance, trump & co did to the Springfield, OH Haitian community, who are legal immigrants went beyond the pale! Where was the US clergy to denounce such racist lies against people whom have made a difference and added to society??
Is anybody else chilled to the Bone about the possibility that the only reason JD Vance was inserted as Trump's VP pick was so that in the event that Trump wins, they end up offing him, and then Shady Vance ends up being president of the US.....
Oh yes. I 100% believe this; I've basically gone full conspiracy wingnut over it. I think the GOP will either end him or use the 25th Amendment and install Vance. And Vance will still be able to RUN for two terms. We could be looking at 12 years of President Vance. Terrifying.
@@patg148 ah yes, the freshman in highschool who thinks hypothermia gets the girls is now the tip of fashion... Wearing shorts out of place makes you look like a predator ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I voted for him and talked others into voting for him and I have been disappointed ever since. He said he was progressive and is like any other politician taking money from large lobbying group.
@@1st2nd2 his not progressive in the way he use to be. I use to be a massive supporter of him but the last 2 years give or take he has disappointed. He supports Israel without conditions which is wrong. The US supports Ukraine but there are plenty of conditions attached which is the way it should be. He isn't progressive in the way he first advertised himself as.... Could go on but plenty of better written opinions saying the same
@@entropyachieved750 No president, of either party, will ever cut off aid to Israel. Ever. That's just a political fact of life. And the Members of Congress who would fit easily in a mini-van.
His 180° on progressive policies (for which he was elected), his disingenuous treatment of the squad, but without a doubt (and most understandably) his grosteque glazing of Israel's Zionism and utter disregard for the genocide of Palestinians. Just gross.
@@cassiusdhami9215 It's not possible for a Republican to support the candidate that is NOT trying to destroy democracy, even if that candidate is a Democrat? Isn't that a bit narrowminded? As a Dutchman I just don't understand this mentality among some of you Americans that you'll still vote for the Republican candidate in this case when it's obviously the far worse of the 2 choices. I've seen people who consider themselves Republican, admit to knowing about all the horrible things Trump has said and done yet still say that despite all of that they'll vote for him. That's just insane cult behaviour.
Let me help you finish that sentence: voted for every Biden nomination in the Executive and Judicial Branches. I realized a long time ago that the Republican Party would never represent me and the Dems would never be all that I wanted. Forget about Bill Clinton's peccadiloes, he made so many stupid mistakes in his 2 years, he sabotaged his presidency. Obama didn't push the ACA fast enough through Congress and would not allow the so-called Public Option because he wanted that elusive Republican vote. At the start of his term he had 60 Senators. ACA should have been done long before Kennedy died on Aug 25. Instead it took another year before the disasterous roll-out. Also, he let McConnell make a fool of him on judicial nominations (blocking Garland was the ultimate insult). All I wanted from Biden was competence and civility, which he delivered. But Biden gave us so much more. With the votes of those 3. Stop complaining and learn to appreciate a win. Next year you won't have truculent, difficult Manchin. Instead, you'll have a reliable R vote. Happy?
@@michaelbayer5094 " Next year you won't have truculent, difficult Manchin. Instead, you'll have a reliable R vote. Happy?" DIng ding ding! Exactly. These children have no idea how hard actual politics is. It's SO much easier to lob insults from their crumb-encrusted sofas.
He took a massive turn after his brain injury, and became a hypocritical monster. Selling out all that platformed him. He is now in the IDFs pocket, and to give him a airtime on this show is really disappointing. I feel 🤢🤢🤢
I'm not a fan as well. I rooted for him when everyone was kicking him when he was down, but he's nice guy but no statesman. He's the guys that works at the hardware store.
@@nancymesek normally I would agree but he had a stroke... and honestly many stroke victims I have met underwent big changes in personality. I think its less "grifting" in this case and actual brain chemistry change. Whether you hate or love his new change I do this its real. Not some fake ploy for money.
The whole world is disgusted that is election appears to be as close as reported. Where is the morality? If you vote on one issue only, let it be decency. Vote Blue top to bottom.
I don't like this guy ever since he said we shouldn't think about what Biden is doing, we should just follow all the other sheep and vote for him regardless. I can't trust anyone who talks like that.
PA is a very diverse state, BUT I pray the voters there come thru with loyalty to the Constitution. traitor trump IS dangerous and putin would LOVE having him to manipulate.
After the mention of Swiss cheese not being used in Philly cheesesteak, I looked up recipes. The first one I looked at called for Swiss cheese. Not that it makes a lot of difference, except to J D Vance
He’s such a great man, and a real fighter. He didn’t give up and ignored those idiots who put him down. He’s an inspiration. He’s also a truth teller. Blue is truth.
A great man? He is Anti-Ceasefire and has flip flopped basic positions he's had. Post stroke he's basically running to be the next Josh Hawley like come ON
Much respect to Senator Fettermsn. I had a stroke right before Covid kicked in and recovery whe you are sequestered at home was tough. He is an inspiration with his recovery and return to serving in the Senate. I am recovered and my only deficit is that I walk wobbly, kinda like I am tipsy most of the time. But, hey I can live with that; at least I can still live. And that is what canes are for, right?
Do you realize that Israel is a foreign country? You can say that Colbert and Fetterman should denounce the war and Bibi. If they did, what would change?
💯 I used to be a big fan of him. I always thought he was very opinionated and not afraid to ask tough questions. But I have been hugely disappointed. Please make KH president already so some of these people will dare to use their eyes and brain again.
@@michaelbayer5094 Well if more people in government would do that a whole lot could change. Actual lives could be saved. As for Stephen himself I could simply respect him again if he reported this as he has reported any major topic over the last years instead of being afraid to even mention it bc it could make KH look bad. What value has a show that comments on news and politics when it’s afraid to comment on certain news and politics?
@@cloud__99 Literally nothing these two men do is going to end the bombing in Gaza. I don't like it any more than you do, but you're living in a fantasy world. This is a LONG-standing and complicated situation that requires an outrageous amount of delicacy and diplomacy. For the record, I think Israel is WRONG, full stop, period, and I'm disgusted by this whole situation. But then, I was also disgusted during the Clinton administration when a 2-state solution was RIGHT THERE ready to be signed off on and we couldn't get Rabin and Arafat to seal the deal. And many were disgusted well before that by similar attempts and failures, going back decades. Sorry for the tangent - the tl;dr is John Fetterman and Stephen Colbert can't bring peace to the Middle East, get real.
@@cloud__99 It's entertainment not news. He omitts plenty of topics. Good on him that he leaves that whole conflict be and doesn't use it for comedy. There's not really a good side when it comes to the decision makers and all the people suffer because of it.
Ah, John Fetterman...the Democrat's answer to George Santos. He did save me a lot of money this year, so there's that. Because after being grifted out of my contributions to him, I decided not to support any out-of-state candidates this election. Swing and a miss on this one, Stephen.
I'd rather Cheney over Fakerman. At least she has a solid history of who she is/what she believes? Fakerman is just pretending to know what's going on to hope he's somewhat relevant: he's not. He's dishonest and couldn't stay with one policy choice if he tried. His athleisure outfits are disgraceful to the decorum of congress. He isn't a gentleman hes a grimeymiff.
So much talk about normal around the Harris/Walz run, but this man has been pushing that door open hard for a good long time now ! The triumph over his stroke is exemplary and he has continued to work hard for his state ,I don’t think you could find a better example of an average “normal” American, serving his country right now! And he’s funny I can’t help but love anyone with a good sense of humor!
He is legit one of the funniest people. It's a bummer about the stroke, because he's not as quick as he used to be, but he will live forever in my memory as the guy who called Republicans "jagoffs" and sold me a shirt that says "My dude in Forty Fort."
He is not average or normal and if you think he is, you are also not average or normal. This dude is a closet GOP baby and lovesssss Israel slaughtering people.
Hes not awesome. His ability to possibly be a wrestler doesn't mean he's a good congressperson. He should be in the WWE and nevwe in the halls of congress again, the filthy turncoat
YES, the vulgarity IS a deliberate strategy and it's fiendishly clever because they know that a fair chunk of the American public at least sympathise with the so-called Barstool community which -- contrary to popular myth-making -- spans both the Conservative and Progressive sides of society AND male and female voters. So when the Barstool community is snarkily defined as ... "... angry that they can't say sexist stuff in public, they're angry that sexual harassment has become something whose prohibitions are strictly enforced and they think prevent flirting in the workplace and stuff like that. They want to be able to see scantily clad women on television. They like seeing cheerleaders at football halftime shows." -- The Ezra Klein Show, 16 August 2024 such descriptions put a LOT of everyday Americans' noses out of joint And I'm not sure Democrats will be able to recover by Election Day. ( ... So I guess blame Ezra Klein ... )
What are you TALKING about? They're using MOVIE RATINGS to talk about what Fetterman is allowed to say next. Fetterman asked if he had to keep it PG-13, and Colbert said "You can go hard R" meaning RATED R. Christ Almighty, use your ears.
@@tzadik. "I heard what I heard"? Dude, how about HEAR WHAT THEY SAID. He CLEARLY asked if he had to be PG-13. There's literally only one thing Stephen's answer could mean.
