I needed this. I am gen z and I was getting passive aggressive because I respected everyone boundaries but no one respects mine. I think it is a huge problem with gen z, they are aware, have boundaries but only for themselves. Not for others.

I think boundaries are important but it's also important if your section of society can afford to have them. I think there should be a note on this channel to say that the discussions may mainly apply to middle-class families who have their own safety net and less stress in their lives as compared to the majority of those living in Pakistan.

I completely completely agree with you. The guest however did say that ye bharay pait ki baatain hain, and I think that is what she meant 🤗

Such a wonderful conversation I think drawing boundaries & being disrespectful towards someone has very thin line in between So one have to be so clear and conscious while doing this For sure our parents raise the best way possible at that times or situation but yes now we need to change on so many things & also, regarding food Yes u cant force a child to eat But yeh kehna k bacha chord y ga tu food waste ni ho ga Ho ga zaror ho ga Or so many people in our country or overall world is starving so we should be veery careful when it comes to wasting food same as u are telling to be so careful in so many aspects of life/work/home in your whole conversion

I slightly disagree with the concept of "Plate saaf karna". You guys are discussing that don't tell children that plate saaf karo even you have to overeat. Half of this thing is right but we can teach them that take a small portion of food, and taste it, If they like it eat it and can always take the food a second or third time because "khana zaya karna" is a bad thing as a human as well as a Muslim so that they don't develop a habit to leave food in the plate always.

The guest is very intellectual and might be a very good speaker but she is not a good listener at all. It gets so irritating she tries to overpower the conversation. Like dude please let the host speak a little too.

I agree with you completely. I’m glad you noticed that and I found it cringeworthy myself when I look back at it but I also realised it when I was doing it and worked on it in the moment to curb my enthusiasm. It improves as the video goes on. I was too excited about the topic in the beginning and then corrected myself as it went on!

If we're watching this podcast with the perspective of someone who doesn't know that the guest came here with the purpose to talk out her own mind about boundaries, then maybe you're right. But Humna clearly states in the beginning (time stamp 15:52) that Hareem came to speak up her own mind about boundaries. Having heard that part, it's quite clear that Hareem came here to TALK and will keep talking. It doesn't define her as a person who's not a "good listener" because if you go back to season 1 and hear her last podcast with Humna, you'll understand that she's a good listener too. In short, it all depends on the intensity of the topic the host and the guest are talking about and whether the topic demands overpowering. That's all.

@@HareemSumbul You were amazing, you kept speaking my mind and made me wish the podcast didn't end. You are a good listener, I've experienced that in my BF session with you so don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking otherwise :) oh and everything we do is cringeworthy to us so let's just ignore that you said that

@@HareemSumbulI think you were great. You explained boundaries very well. You were telling your journey. The host was also speaking and telling her experience. Maybe less but you explained boundaries so well. And everything you said about gen z is true.
