Watched the movie yesterday. Short and crsip review below, Siddarth - Extreme overacting Both Heroines - Unnecessarily added in movie with no role. Bobby simha - First scene to last scene only single expression. No change in style, body language, dialogue delivery, bite the teeth hardly and stand or talk in whole movie. Comedy - was searching for it in whole movie. Anirudh - Real talent of anirudh is exposed. Worst BGMand songs. Cannot survive for a long time with software created noises. Fights - Very lengthy, boring, illogical. Hero is able to create six packs and full gym body in few seconds by mind. Will ask about this technique to my gym master. Unicycle scene - Highly irritating Varma kalai - Horse varmam, Ladies shy varmam, liquid release varmam. Worst thinking and disgusting. I have a personal request. I have gastric problems in belly. Pls let me know some varmam to release it. Social media - One can do anything with social media. Hashtag are most powerful than nuclear weapons. Whole world lives in hashtag. Movie story and screenplay - Absolute no preparation. Total waste. No logic, no creativity.Easily predictable scenes. Kamal getup - Must be done with some cheap Maida flour. Looking very ugly. No match. Kamal and Sankar - You both are seen as legends.Im a great fan of Kamal and Sankar but totally lost interest on them because of this single movie. Pls dont spoil your name anymore. If you people dont have the survival skills for current trends, Pls stop creating movies. I don’t understand why you both with such a large experience both in quantity and quality has created a worst product like this. My review - Waste of 3 hours and 1200rs. Will be happy if production company can reimburse.

Shankar is struggling to find a replacement for Sujatha. He tried with multiple writers, nothing seems to click. And he's over-compensating the lack of quality writing with CGI/VFX and too much gimmicks. Indian/Mudhalvan/Anniyan/ Sivaji/ Enthiran. That was his peak time. We thought I was bad. 2.0 was pathetic. Even with all the practical stunts. Indian 2 will lack quality. Shankar lost the lustre he once had. He's just running behind sequels. Game Changer perhaps can get him a hit

The very fact that Vivek & Nedumudi Venu (who passed away 3 years ago) are part of this film shows the age of the film and how delayed it has been.

Direction is vision. Screenplay and scriptwriting are different department da.. Sujatha was the right person for Shankar. That doesn't mean Shankar lost his touch. He needs someone who scripts his vision in that grandeur way.

Even before 2011.He had loopholes but was saved by other technicians.kadhalan-prabhu deva dance ,vfx,Ar rahman music,vadivelu comedy lifted the movie. Jeans-vfx,aishwary rai presence,ar rahman music,location lifted the movie. sivaji-Rajini hype,a.r.rahman music,vfx,hype lifted the movie.

Shankar is a legend, No doubt, Every director goes through difficult phase.

Sujatha was not just for dialogues alone. If one has read his novels, writings, stories etc, they can see all his mastery and touches on multiple fields like politics, religion, science, technology, current affairs, society norms, adultery, history, literature were "used" to construct the scenes and screenplay in all the movies he was onto. He was just given the credits for dialogues and for a genius Sujatha is, he never cared about losing credits and delivered way more than what we was credited for. Without Sujatha, Shankar movies are just compilation of scenes, with grandeur and with NO soul. Look at his movies post Sujatha's demise: Nanban - Xerox copy of a classic with zero originality and nativity, except grandeur in songs Ai - Makeup factory with cringe plot and scenes coupled with his trademark useless grandeur. Its sad to see Vikram's herculean efforts went in vain 2.0 - Except for Rajni and vfx, it was unbearable to watch. In all essence, started as a robot movie and ended as a cartoon. Weak characterization of the antagonist(?) and the movie died right after the flashback started And Looking at Indian 2 promos and glimpses, it is very evident that Shankar is still living in 90s...without Sujatha

Mudhalvan, Indian, Anniyan, I, Enthiran movies ellathulayum common aah oru vishayam irukum. Hero will have soft side (Muthalvan - common man, Indian - Chandru, Ambi, ..) and rough side (Anniyan, Chitti, Indian Senapathy). They fight against evil or injustice.

Shankar has never given a bad movie. His last 2 movies are average/Abv-avg range still it managed to do good numbers at box office . Just 2 average movies and all started to degrade & giving advise to one of the greatest commerical director of all time, He will definitely bounce-back with Indian 2 .

Story will always be the hero... everything else is complimentary (graphics, songs, etc.)... In 1990s and 2000s, maybe this would've worked out but Shankar has to update his mindset and adapt to future. Gentlemen/Indian/Anniyan were the pinnacle in story telling... Maybe shankar has to revisit this concept and stop over relying on graphics and music videos. Only Shankar can redeem himself and i badly want it.

Every indian movie required some special content like beautiful heroine, romance, some dance songs, and some local vibes enthiran has making quality as well these things also, but 2.o was superb in making quality and vfx works but missed this indian elements that is the difference both movies, rrecently in kalki they made it in hollywood level but mixed with indian mythology to make more favorable to indian audience

2.0 failure main reason - Rajini sir could not do so much stunts after half movie done. Then he told shankar to cancel the movie and he will give the money for compensation. But shankar point of view: already we announced a movie and half shooted ,then we cancel means it would damage our name .,so he made many changes in the script and give more weightage to Akshay Kumar. If you see the movie rajini sir didn't do such big things. But it damaged shankar sir name and career. Ask anyone of the assistant directors in 2.0 they will the truth.

Maybe another hidden reason is , all his movies are about corruption. Currently our society has normalized corruption. That could be the reason why storylines are not attracting the audience anymore. Also too much focus on CG in songs. Shankar should scout for new talents in dialogue writing and story. For example in PS , Maniratnam found a great talent named Ilango Krishnan for lyrics....he produced magical words.....Shankar should find such talents who work truly deep in their respective fields. Last but not the least...may be the movies are targetted for Pan India release which leads to mixing of various cultures of India in the screenplay to attract fans across the country leading to masala story...this makes the story to lose it's flavour.

Why noone mentioned about the skin show in his movies ? Like VFX, he has used the leading ladies to cover up lack of creativity.

Shankar should stop the luxurious concept.. He should focus most importantly the ideology, story quality, good content, good screenplay and climax. Indian 2 has 3 writers but lack of originality. Coz the story content. Kamal should have corrected the script. Now its too late. Shankar can try make movies without songs.. Choose different idea or concept.

I think 2.0 is a really good movie with the vfx and the story.The movie was just dead slow.Everybody says the story is worse but you think about Akshay Kumar's flashback.the movie didn't work that well in 2018 because the story was complicated.

I dont have any idea about cinema but a thing that i noticed from his recent movies is the graphics and the vfx or anything that you could call it its something like you have increased the brightness and the saturation. You see enthiran 2.0 looks similar to indian 2 or maybe its the same production team its not realistic unlike his previous old movies

Indian 2 timeline does not need to match the current year-2024. It could just be that Indian-2 happens just a few years after the events of Indian-1. So Indhian Thatha could just be a couple of years older than his version in Indian-1.

Bro, my 2 cents, it all involves the budget of the movie (80%) and the mindframe (20%), not mindsets. Cinema is business, more than that it a place where ballant money laundering happens. Sankar’s biggest problem happens when the budgets got bigger & bigger and so did cost of production of movies due to inflation. There is no question of breaking even in that kind budgets as even a bank FD will make 7-8%. Profit is guaranteed only when people go the cinemas in trucks&droves for that to happen all the people from the lower echelons and lower satra have to participate. For doing that the a director’s job is to cater the needs of the lower echelons’s vision, I don’t blame those guys (I was part of them too). In that process of getting more footfalls one needs to keep the script as simple as possible, Shankar is a sophisticated person his mind is capable of handling complex things and he has the ability to make sophisticated movies but the business here is to sell a timex watch and not a Rolex. He is doing it perfectly, but for some people with a little higher IQ his movies might suck a little. It’s the same story with GVM, Mani sir etc These Directors are far ahead of their time, their Craft is excellent but the cinema as business is tearing their vision apart. A guy like Anurag Kyshap (My favourite) can never do a movie like Endiran and become Rich like Shankar in doing so. Anurag might be educated but Shankar is intelligent. All the very best!!

Downfall of most of the Indian directors is because of bad creative decisions they take in their movies. Incase of Shankar, lot of the money goes into making the songs, vfx and big hero fees, the final outcome is the big budget movie where money is wasted at unwanted places in the name of 'brammandam (Larger than life).

Very simple, he should also focus on strong script. His making , innovation, standard are all great but that has to be backed with strong script and screen play.
