Thanks for your answer. I praise God for preachers like Eld. Skeete who still preach the advent message. While we need to develop the habit of asking God, I also believe the bible gives clear definition of what modesty is in 1 Timothy 2:9. modest as an English word means "dressing so as to avoid impropriety or indecency, especially to avoid attracting sexual attention." "clothing not revealing or emphasizing a person's figure." (source: google) If we stick to this rule, I think we can have an answer to what modest dress constitutes. Making reference to this text, EG. White writes: "The Bible teaches modesty in dress. “In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel.” 1 Timothy 2:9. *This forbids display in dress, gaudy [bright] colors, profuse ornamentation. Any device designed to attract attention to the wearer or to excite admiration is excluded from the modest apparel which God's Word enjoins."* - CG 423.2 If we decide to define modesty by our traditional customs, then we might as well define the sabbath by our traditions. because here in Ghana, the manner of dress which Eld. makes reference to, is from the akan tribe and in the akan traditional calendar, the first day of the week is Thursday. I believe when we accept Christ, our culture changes from natural to spiritual and as EG. White says: "Follow the customs in dress *so far as they conform to health principles.* Let our sisters *dress plainly, as many do, having the dress of good, durable material, appropriate for this age,* and let not the dress question fill the mind. Our sisters should *dress with simplicity.* They should clothe themselves in *modest apparel,* with shamefacedness and sobriety. Give to the world a living illustration of the inward adorning of the grace of God. Manuscript 167, 1897. CG 414.1 A dress must also promote proper health as her writings reveal. Thanks.

Brother, I knew you had a sense of humor (it’s quite obvious the more one watches your sermons), but I was pleasantly surprised by the magnitude of it! Also, I was impressed by what you said about asking God to guide me in my clothing choices. I’ve never thought to do that, but it really makes sense. I’m going to start this new dressing behavior after I wake up later this morning (it’s already after 1 am here.) God never ceases to amaze me by how often He uses His Spirit to speak through you to bless and enlighten me (and others, of course) as to His will! God bless you, my friend. I am from Papua New Guinea and in our culture the man is the ruler and the bible is the same so SDA worldwide should stand up boldly to fight against these heresies in our church.
