Quinten Hann was one of the best at losing it. His smash break off shot got rid of some frustration, but then it built back up, as he often lost the frame because of it. Inviting Andy Hicks to the car park after a match was funny.

To me one of the best but also most frustrating things about snooker is that you are entirely in control when you're at the table. There's no countdown timer, nobody forcing you to do anything specific, it's all up to you. That makes it feel entirely your fault when you do something stupid or play a bad shot. In tennis or something similar the ball is coming at your face and you just have to react. Simultaneously, every single shot is hard to play and requires both concentration/planning and touch/feel at the same time. Anyone who has not played snooker seriously really cannot appreciate just how good the top players are. Twitching on a shot and losing tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds.... your children going on holiday or even just paying the bills coming down to potting a black off the spot, with a hundred thousand people watching and judging if you miss.... hard work for sure.

The way I deal with anger is to not expect too much of myself. But sometimes it's just...everything's so annoying, the only thing I could do is to watch the tragedy happen. But anyway, the video is helpful, and funny👍

Ali Carter definitely is the most emotional player all the time. I've seen him showing his depression and fury during match many times. As a fighter beated cancer he deserves my respect but as a professional snooker player he is really nasty with a you-owe-me-money face. I'd like to watch him and Maguire playing in a table because there's a high possibility that they both will make snooker into boxing.

I'm commenting before watching the video and I'd guess the biggest reason for being extremely angry is missing easy chances (especially if you really need to convert that chance) and you are feeling confident in yourself of doing just that. If in that state of mind something goes wrong, it's very difficult to just shrug it off. Someone might think that players get angry for bad fortune but usually luck is not in your control and you can't really blame yourself too much.

It seems to me that there was less snooker anger back in the 80's. Maybe because the best players back then were quite safe in their cosy top 16 club without so much competition from newcomers.

nice video, as always. off by a factor of 100x though, on the time the cue is in contact with the cue ball. it's been measured numerous times on high-speed photography to be only 1-2 milliseconds.

Also what I find frustrating is that no matter how good you are you will never 100% know the path of the cue ball or how they will split and end up. Therefore every shot, not matter how easy, is a probability on going right or wrong. Some days they go right more than others, but you notice them more when they go wrong. Also, obviously they isn't anything as bad luck or run of the balls in reality. These terms are given to shots or matches people have, and people focus the term having bad day ect, and almost believe it to the point that they make it happen. E. G. 'self for filling prophecy'. If you understand this and be aware that your next shots or dame are undetermined and can focus on setting in to the match instead of thinking it must be one of those days.
