No matter if it's popcorn you've ordered at the theaters or popcorn you've cooked in the microwave, there always seems to be leftover kernels that didn't turn into popcorn. Physicist and author of "Storm in a Teacup: The physics of everyday life," Helen Czerski, explains the science behind this mysterious phenomenon.

The lollipop of Kim Taehyung Yeah, I ate them too, on June I'm going to meet a dentist because I breaks 4 of my teeth, 2 of them because of chewing these devil. Brushing your teeth and chew some chalk turns out to be important, regret not doing so.

Silly piece of trivia: Apparently, within the popcorn industry, kernels that don't pop are unaffectionately known as "old maids." When purchasing kernels in bulk quantity, the expected percentage of old maids is an important thing to know because it directly affects your profit margins.

Good to know, however why does this happen? I shop for kernels from one and only shop, every time I get them perfectly popped. What's wrong now? Were they too old or something? Or have I kept them for too long in my cupboard?

Well she is kinda right (don't want to say she is wrong). I did a test, and they do pop in a pan with oil. But they only pop about the 1/4 size on average, but they do "pop". And it's not worth popping them cause of that. Plus, they burn all of a sudden, so you have to take it off the burner fast. So they are like reject kernels. But maybe find those ones that are just partial cracked open turn up. Those are nice to eat, the crunchy ones.

Ma Cas The oil fills the holes and water and oil don't mix as well as the oil being more dense, so it will push the water down, so the water still can't get out.

I'm a rebel. I reheat my popcorn in the bag even though it says not to reheat un-popped kernels. Sometimes leaving the kernels is too wasteful, and if you heat the whole bag up more the first time, the earlier popped kernels burn a little.

Easy I paused right when the video started because I already learned this in class" Some popcorn kernels are dont pop because some don't have enough water in them the water evaporates and that's what makes them pop if you want them to pop you put a little bit of water in a can container etc leave it over night pop it whenever if there is still kernels do the process again.
