I am old enough to remember main media journalists being pretty good at being objective. Now, everyone is an editorialists by inserting bias vocabulary and adjective that either inflate or minimize events in their reports or place the blame on one party according to their bias. For example calling Isreal "counter-offensive" against Hamas "retaliation", a word also meaning "vengeance" and implying implies that civilians victims in Gaza are not collateral victims of a war, but deliberately targeted by Israel for avenging its own deaths. That determination cannot be made by journalists unless they were present when the target was selected and the pre-strike tactical and legal analysis was done. Even worst, when Israel who supplied only 20% of the water supply to Gaza shut that down, most media reported that ALL water supply to Gaza had been shut down. As a journalist, I could not (in most shop) and go on air to accuse Israel of "War crimes" or "Crimes against the humanity", but I can just finds someone who will says that, do an interview and present him/her as an "expert".

Bias has become an economic proposition for many of these news agencies as they court specific viewers. With that said, I do agree with your first post, Journalists and others are held to stricter standards with how they are perceived due to their jobs. If these folk cared about their jobs and read the company policies, they would know that in advance. However many of those who lost their jobs are likely professional victims anyways.

Well you see here, war keeps the "economy" healthy, so capital supports it. To criticize war is to criticize your employer's interests which results in retaliation. If the Palestinians are not displaced or killed, the natural resources in their land cannot be exploited by capitalist interests. It's colonialism. Don't like it? Examine your beliefs and look into alternatives that align with your morals. As long as our global economic system is capitalism the incentive to colonize will never cease to exist.
