Sirf srk ni bhai .. late 90s to 2010 tk sonu sir ne sabke liye awaz di hai. Salman Sharukh amir akshay Saif.. aur Jo main actors nahi hai unke liye bhi . He was compulsory in most of the film during that period.
Multiple singers singing a song and then director choosing which one to keep is not only a wrong approach but also disrespectful to the singers as well.
That's why our cinema won't progress. If you go to purchase a shirt you can't imagine it in your head. You try different ones and in the end you select the best ones. This culture is the why old singers aren't getting work in movies.
@@randomexplorer9521 shahrukh khan, salman khan, ranbir kapoor etc dont give auditions, they are above that, audition is for new comers and some side actors only. The same logic applies for music industry as well, sonu, shaan, mohit dont need to do auditions for any song...

Talent matters in singing old or new. Arijit's 10 years songs are still relevant. Legend for a reason. Can you compare tum hi ho with saathiya? No, because tum hi ho is much better. Making a song with 7 different singers certainly doesn't make for a great impression! How can a director not sure of which singer to sing a composition? Most of the directors are a 100% sure which singer will perfectly fit for a song! How come Pritam being in this industry for So Long now isn't still sure of which singer to choose for a particular song? He has already become an established music composer and hence is a senior now. I can't see how a producer come and suddenly interfere in the music making process of such a well established and a HIT music composer. So I don't agree with Pritam ji's position on this....

Recent producers have too much say in who should sing a song and who shouldn’t. Why are they influencing Music Directors so much? This is an insult to singing legends like Sonu Nigam. Also Music Directors like Pritam are an absolute disgrace for agreeing to this method. He needs to grow a pair of balls and push back to directors and producers. Pritam is one of THE BIGGEST offenders in this case. He has done this to Sonu Nigam and other senior singers MULTIPLE times over the years. Surely he should know what a song will sound like in a few particular singer’s voice? These are NOT new singers. Sharam kar salo!
Nahi . Gerua song is best suited in Arjit's voice . Sonu can't give that much feelings in it. Sonu Nigam's all aongs would be more perfect if Arijit sang it.
I like pritam's way of working..... He keeps many versions of a single song... That's why his albums are very musical and works as treat for the listeners... They can hear 1 song in many different singer's voice.. That makes an album very refreshing.
Sonu Nigam never reached the heights of Kumar Sanu and Udit Narayan. He was never able to rule the way they ruled Bollywood music for a period of time. He should realize that.
One thing is certain pritam as a composer uses fewer singers for his songs he uses only one voice for his songs personally dayree was much ahead of gerua
Nope... Music labels replaces singers and dub their songs with those singers who are becoming popular and getting more live concerts... Lkin Desi boys song was originally sung by Arijit Singh and also composers wanted to keep that version..but it was dubbed by KK because Arijit was not that popular those days and KK was more popular...
sonu nigam is absolutely right. there is nobody on earth that can sing any song better then sonu, to treat him like just another singer is very disrespectful and wrong.
Sonu Nigam is in same position with Arijit; as it happened when Kishore was in the rise; all the other famous names just disappeared; & it was all about Kishore Kumar; Singers are all about songs; & Arijit has proved now that he is properly trained singer for all kinds of songs!

Background voice is not just about singer, it is also about the character, mood, script ki demand, age of the character etc bohat saari cheez hain jo shayad aam admi ko malum hi na ho. Film making has changed, now one voice can not sing for 100 heroes for 25 years. If you can not respect others don't expect others to respect you. You might be a great singer but if your attitude is not right and if you are not humble no one will work with you.

Film making has changed, now everyone is in pressure to deliver best, so filmmakers try many voices and then they do focused testing among required demographics to understand which voice is suiting the character best. Probelm with great singers like Sonu, Shaan or late KK is that their voices are overexposed for many years so they don't bring novelty or freshness

The fact is the playback singer fee for a song in a movie is very much affordable for the producers. Because of this, producers have a tendency to do trails with multiple singers.
Classic case of people taking themselves too seriously, I love Sonu but at times you just gotta do your work, take the check, sing the song and leave. Who cares if it makes the final cut or remains in the archives, It's art after all. Chances are high that 10 years down the line you'd probably hear it and wonder yeah could have been in my voice.
they dont pay singers the check arijit and arman malik confirmed that they dont get paid for playback songs in hindi film.... a mad person would sing in such case, its humilating for singers to be used as instrument ....none of today singer has self respect ...
They do not get paid for the song unless it is chosen; besides he is Sonu Nigam. Why should he sit in the "swayamvar" as he puts it, with a bunch of new singers.
This is why he is a legend. He will never just "take the check"; most people don't even know who is singing sings these days , they are so forgettable but Sonu Nigam is India's greatest male singer for the last 30 years. His legacy is untouchable.

Because he's too much of a senior. He does not need to sing new songs. He already has too many. Just think of a person giving 100% to a song at such a stage and his song remaining unheard forever. Simple if you want his voice you ask him to sing only. As explained by Arsalan above imagine the same for any senior actor.
