That's why I quit becoming a dancer I could have became a famous dancer most people that I met would tell me I am good and should perform I loved dancing but I chose to become am animator a 3D animator i just loved making films I want to become a professional 3D animator and hopefully work for top animation studios I might have low subs but hopefully it will all change in the future :-) (rather choose something I truly love then something for fame)

Marvel was going through bankruptcy during the later half of the 90's, that's how Sony ended up with lifetime rights to Spider-man and Fox with X-Men. They didn't have the money to pay Stan until some of that movie money started coming in. When he sued and eventually settled part of the agreement was he would also have to gave up his rights to the 10%. Since comic films where only mildly successful at the time he had no idea what was to come. Sadly this agreement happened several years before Iron Man and the start of the MCU.

Something that never gets mentioned, mostly because it was never publicized, is the amount of money that Stan donated to the children's hospitals of New York. The last few years of his life he signed millions of things at $100 per item. That money was split between his workers and himself. Stan always donated his portion to the children's hospital and didn't keep it for himself.

There's an episode of the Toyhunter where Stan tells the Toyhunter at New York Comic con, to bid and win a Jack Kirby painting of Captain America. At the end the Toyhunter gives Stan the artwork. He only paid 10 grand for it. That's more than some regular people make in a year. 50 million is alot. Stan was worth waaaayy more, but I'm sure he didn't have that many regrets.

This video and the comments are both a huge crock of crap. Firstly Stan Lee doesn't deserve money or praise. He only got into comics because his relative worked at the company and unfairly promoted him. Secondly he never created anything. Stan worked with already established creators and pitched a few ideas but the overall creation of these classic characters were almost fully created by others for which Stan stole credit from them...Kirby, Ditko. Stan's solo work proved he isn't a talented creator or writer, while the people he worked with were successful before and after their time with him...Lee can't say the same. At times he listed himself as sole creator and actually claimed creator on characters he didn't create such as Captain America, he got into big legal trouble back in the 80's for it. He is a known liar and credit thief. His one big accomplishment was marketing himself on things he had no right to claim ownership for. He is pathetic.

He WORKED for Marvel when he created the characters FOR Marvel. A better agent would have gotten him a bigger royalty, but Marvel was ALWAYS going to OWN the rights. Creators ONLY make big money by keeping the OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT. That's why Image was founded. I'm sure DC would have offered more if he asked them.

Thank you for this, this is good, and a lesson that transcends culture. I'm watching this scenario play out right now in another way with GODZILLA and the new GODZILLA franchise as the Japanese Toho studios wing is signing their intellectual property deals with these big American studios like Warner Brothers and Legendary Studios. It is so funny to me how American culture does not understand that when a property like GODZILLA, for example, that can only see a profit margin of a rough 70 to maybe 80 million in its home territory at best because of how small Japan is, suddenly makes between 400-500 million in the U.S., that is written about as a box office bomb, or failure. Big and powerful studios like Disney can easily absorb ANY losses on something like that as they buy the ownership of whatever and go on with their business but they can still hold on to profits made off of what they touched (POWER RANGERS, for example, with Disney). Those of us who have seen the video clips and interviews remember how excited Stan Lee was when he cut that deal with Toei studios in Japan so that they could make that SPIDERMAN TV show that they did. Wow, if you feel sad for Stan Lee, you should see what happened to Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. He must have made $49,999,999. off of his creation of Stripperella and Dakota North. Since the other 2 left he didn't create anything Iconic. Whereas Kirby and Ditko continued to create characters. Lee was know to take credit for anything not hammered down. He signed away artwork that he didn't create. I remember Frankenstein's monster in an Iron Man comic, does that mean he created that as well?

I was reading some of these views, you guy are a bunch of idoits"😨, $50 million isn't shit compare to what these movies made! Obviously he didn't have the right people with him making these decisions. 😢 he could of set up his family, family's, family's for long long time. SAD..

They even profited from his guest appearances in the Marvel movies. 10million, wow.. Marvel managed to dupe Stanlee. shud have made a contract for royalty, instead of a one time deal. but kudos to the creativity Mr.Lee of creating those memorable characters. Ironman is the best character Marvel boosted through movies. RDJ did a fab job of rebooting em onscreen. that was the beginning of the success of Marvel in cinema. earlier Spiderman movies were ok. but this just created a new grand universe. But Spiderman will be key to rebooting avengers 2.0 they had to retire em all as they got older. so expect a new gen coming up. to be lead by Spidey

So many facts wrong here. Stan Lee was Martin Goodman's nephew. All these characters were co-created by Stan. The heavy lifters were mainly Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Steve Ditko created Doctor Strange by himself.

Morality should have gotten everyone involved to make sure that Stan Lee got what he deserved. "You know what? We have to make sure that Stan is well compensated. After all. None of this would've been possible without him." "I think you're right." I guess you guys have to stick to the bottom line, right? To the powers that be. I IDENTIFY with the HULK. I am a quiet person who avoid quarrels and fights. However, when I get upset I feel deep rage swelling up. I am always afraid that one day I might "hulk out". I will regret it.

I would say the character that Stan created that I identify the most is Spiderman. Because I see myself as just a ordinary person that can sometimes do extraordinary amazing things. But another one of The mini marvel characters that I have fallen in love with over the years Spiderman Iron Man the X-Men and so many more. You will be forever missed Stan I never met you in real life but you always seemed like a nice guy. Stan I feel like I’ve known you all my life you’ve given so many characters to the world we will all cherish them so much I know I do thank you.

Comparatively he might not be as rich as he should be for someone who's called the father of Marvel, but I feel like he was one of the most happiest people ever. Who did what he loved. The way he talks about writting and his comics is just🤩. And will always be remembered as the person who made the Marvel universe. He has inspired so many people over the years and will continue to live in our hearts for many many years to come.

Anytime I hear that Stan Lee didn’t receive just compensation for his work, I ask where was Lee sticking up for Jack Kirby who was much more instrumental in almost all of those characters. Talk to anyone who was around back then and they all share some pretty different versions of Stan then the media currently likes to portray. It truly is sad.

Somewhere there's thus universe where the characters of Marvel Comics are real living and breathing. Thanks to Stan Lee, Steve Ditko, and so many others who exist. I'm so grateful for him staying in the industry.

Well if you have several million you’re rich He just wasn’t as rich as some people today..? You’d think he’d be a billionaire But his net worth is $50million ..?
