This talk was so inspirational to me, because I tend to try to explain things in a bigger perspective and it NEVER WORKS. People don't want to hear me trying to teach them about some vague concept they don't really understand, which often makes me feel like I'm not being heard. If I just tell them a story, my story, my neighbor's story, my mom's story, they might just be able to identify, and listen.

I'm in love with her metaphor about representational media waving and saying "Hi!" I've been trying to communicate that feeling and it's opposite for years and she nailed it.
