more greenery and gardens on the walls and rooftops, as well better isolation or efficient energy use are one thing, but none of these things help in lowering the impact of the construction itself (which is barely even mentioned by any of the interviewees i'm afraid) : all the heavy construction machinery pretty much requires oil to run, and buildings are still using tons and tons of concrete, steel and glass which each cause subtantial amounts of carbon emissions.

Sustainable buildings just look and feel better. The Funan building looks amazing!

Is the LEED certification still a thing? Although it is a third party US based certification, I remember that was the goal to meet if you want a truly green building, not just some plants on the walls and other greeneries. I wish they talked about "why and how" the Funan building is sustainable. I guess that's on another video.

Of course it pays off, although it might be more expensive at the start, but it needs time to show its efficiency and results. Those non technical businessmen usually are just too impatient to wait. They dk anything.

Exactly. It took over 20 years for developers to start incorporating sustainable, energy efficient, more environmentally friendly development. They wouldn't start off doing it, waiting for someone else to start first and see how it goes before starting the project. 🙄 When solar and wind energy was founded, it was not being incorporated into building developments. Main reason being too expensive, not feasible, not profitable back then.
