Tata, after acquiring Air India, has sealed the world's biggest aviation deal by placing the largest-ever aircraft order, worth around $85 billion, from France's Airbus and America's Boeing.
This purchase is so big that it will support over one million American jobs.
Moreover, new players like Akasa Air have also entered the Indian market, while Jet Airways is also trying to relaunch itself.
The Centre for Aviation estimates that Indian carriers are expected to order around 1,700 planes in the next two-plus years.
Therefore, an important question arises: Now why there is a sudden surge in investment in the Indian airline industry? Is it due to business foresight or a wishful thinking to try and change the tides?
