Tennessee Volkswagen workers achieved a historic victory on April 19 by overwhelmingly voting to join the United Auto Workers (UAW) labor union. This victory marked the first time since 1941 that a nonunion automaker in the US has successfully unionized. Husayn Karimi, a labor organizer and labor journalist with On the Line, explains how this watershed moment will lead to a tidal wave of new organizing in the South and catapult the labor movement into a new era.

It is incredible how education changes the ideology of southern people who have been taken advantage of for more than one hundred years. Those southern states like Alabama, South Carolina, and Tennessee, where European car manufacturers targeted states with citizens who had no idea of their worth as paid employees, have discovered their worth. It is still amazing how the 1979 movie "Norma Rae" was easily forgotten

The quality of VW is steadily declining. Recent was a water pump and engine damage settlement. I am filing the paperwork to recover repairs costs.

In my town, after the workers at the biggest manufacturer here voted to unionize, the company closed up, went to Mexico, and nobody had jobs. This was before Trump, who has shown with the Carrier incident that he would have stopped it.

so unions are a bad thing. it generally runs synonymous with antitrust violations. it's a distraction from antitrust violations thew workers unions care or are responsible for higher wages but it's actually antitrust doing it. and still so it inhibits job creations and still harms the workers. also other protections that normally would be resolved in court is gone, so it generally doesn't benefit the workers.

As we buffer the American north border ,always Canada will benefit. Thei interest payments are made to the wealthy bond holders from the millions of taxpayers that arent bond holders. As always the benefits float up. Turds float.

Unions are probably necessary whenever people work for a company or corporation. I think we still need a leftist political movement that goes beyond good wages. I don't think unions can be that alone.
