You ARE young and are clueless about the '80s Longhorns - every year, they were "back". And weren't. In the '90s, and all thru Mack etc. Texas will be back IF they do it 4 years, 5, 6, 7. NOT until then. They are NOTHING except another one-year flash in the pan until then. Except it's ONLY 3 games so far. There is ONE possible advantage: rumor has it that, in 2013, boosters wanted to (FINALLY!) get rid of Mack Brown and had ponied up the money to buy Nick Saban. Instead, they were out-monied by Mack's pals, selling Texas down the listless river. There is a chance that those boosters have been washed away AND/OR re-educated, OR replaced with thoughtful versions... but jeepers, most of those would have been part of Charlie Strong and Tom Herman.

Unfortunately, there's one knock that Sark is NOT fixing now: "Has never fielded O-Lines that WILL protect their QB." NEVER. Now this is Season 3. And with Ewers' latest injury, we see one defender split too wide and the Texas outside blocker didn't get out quick enough to protect the QB... and now he's hurt. Once again - Sark is NOT getting a coached-up O-Line capable of protecting their QB.

I applaud your understanding of O-Line importance, and that you research NFL-Access for O-linemen and recruits. THAT IS KEY. If Sark can create a channel of O- and D-Linemen into the NFL (or actually, it will be his asst coaches that do that), all other pieces fall into place. That still doesn't mean the coach won't field an O-line great at FG protection but can't chase down a missed-FG's returner. ahem.

Noooope. Texas produces the most quality football players in the nation, with California, Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana coming in behind. In the SEC, Texas can recruit Texas and the South way better, and it’s the closest SEC school to California. And Austin is a place kids want to be. Ohio? Who wants to be in the heart of the rust belt Confederacy?

Ohio State has won - what? 44 consecutive national championships? If I listen to Games 3 and 4 from Buckeye fans, yep, every year is another natty. They have done well sometimes but their ability to beat Bowling Green and Furman, Akron - or just PLAYING such a weak schedule - hasn't always panned out. Even though Buckeyes usually have the Most Rested, Most Uninjured Players due to soft opponents, they often dial in their QUIT status when they get their noses bloodied.
