I work at BMW and the 4 series is my favorite BMW car. But with the 4 Gran Coupe, as Jeremy Clarkson says about the 6 series Gran Coupe, it's a 4 door version, of a two door version, of a four door version.
Brandon Friesen does this car actually go 0-60 in 4.6 seconds? Does the 440i gran coupe do the same 0-60, or do you need to get a higher engine option, just wondering, thanks
So the 440 is more powerful than the 435 by a decent margin(300 vs 320hp) The 435 Coupe does 4.6, the 440 is 4.4, both are identical with 4WD or RWD. Then you can get and M Power Kit as an option for both the old 435, and new 440, which adds 35hp in both of them. So with the M Power Kit, take off another 0.2 seconds for your 0-60 time. So the M Performance Package for the 435 will be 325hp and do 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, and the 440 will be 355hp and do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. But those are coupes, if you get the Gran Coupe, it's much heavier, so add 0.3 seconds to 60 for the 435 and 440 in gran coupe form. If you go cabriolet, it's even heavier so add on 0.5 seconds to 60. Lots to take in, but I hope this makes sense. The only model above the 435/440 with the M Performance Package will be the M4.
I wish there were more lower budget oriented cars here instead of just overly expensive german cars that im not intrested in. Its your channel but id watch it way more if there if there were cars for the people with budgets of some where from 10k-30k
Greenespirit yea but that shit is boring I don't want to know what poor people think is cool. Plus if you can't get a loan on a car worth $30k then you probably need to start looking at other channels
Asphodel You obviously dont know anything about cars then. I bet everyone of these cars tuned will beat whatever your drive. Also this channel was made to help people to choose their first car with a low budget. Ignorant car sheep smh
Asphodel Check out boostedboiz channel, He has 10k into his civic including the cost of the car stock and he is making 600hp. that will desimate any heavy ass luxury car you drive.
Well Merc really needed to redesign their interiors. They looked really aged. At least BMW interiors still look great and are incredibly functional. The LCI now has a full digital instrument cluster option.
Bob Cheesy well yeah I'm talking about their interiors previous to the update. That's what he's talking about in the video. Merc was desperately due for an update and they did it. It looks good now. But I'm saying BMWs changes have been subtle because it consistantly works great and still looks good at the same time.
The 4 series was differentiated from the 3 series coupe to compete with the Audi A5 as a standalone model. Along with that came the 4 series gran coupe to compete with the Audi A5 sport back, a four door hatch back, which wasn't available in North America in the last generation but will be with the new one.
I have an e92 335i and i gotta say while the f32 435i is great there's just something about the e92 335i that makes it special that's beyond looks and power, gotta love it.
The 3 series is in kahoots with the 5 series and the 4 series is in kahoots with the 6 series hense why the 4 and the 6 have the gran coupe. it's the same with the x SUV's. All the even numbers are more wide, sleek and aggressive looking compared to the odd numbers
The 4 series is great, and maybe I'm a bit biased as an F30 335 owner, but there's no denying that the 3 series is amazing too, especially in estoril blue!
Every time you review a new car I go and start checking prices. Then I remember I'm only a 21 year old student with thousands of dollars of loans... *Upside down smiley face*
Parker, your reviews are getting great. I'd love to see more reviews on the channel. As others are saying some older and more affordable cars would be welcome.
Michael Cohen no one is interested in old cars so you go visit old videos to find what you need cause Parker will lose views if he does that take that dude in blue's mg video for example
I'm talking 90s and 2000s like his M5 and E46 M3. There are a lot of cars from the that have depreciated and in many ways better than new cars for the same money. I understand the value proposition of porn (latest Lambo) but I'm interested in things I can attain too.
Great car! I cant wait to own it for ~15k$ in couple of years. I prefer maintaining it repairing it as much as i can rather than be the guy who gets the astronomical depreciation hit.
I just bought a 2016 BMW 428i Gran Coupe and I'm in love with it....although it's the slower version, the sport and sport+ modes are pretty damn great with absolutely amazing throttle response. The only thing I wish would've improved is the graphics on the display. The dynamic headlights are amazing, looks are amazing, 50-50 weight distribution is a huge characteristic and the HUD is very very practical. You can get a used 4 series in the upper $20 grand with less than 20,000 miles. I'd highly recommend looking at it.
some of the greatest-less produced reviews i've ever seen. Believe me, I've been reading and watching reviews in 4 different languages since 6 years old... Amazing job there
That interior is perfect for a drivers car with enough knobs and buttons for the daily used functions, instead of putting almost all functions in a touch screen. And with today's customer demand to have 2-3 cars in one and luxury being very important for them, these cars must have a quiet cabin to be pleasing. Specially considering the prices in this segment.
I honestly was not a fan of BMW interiors until I drove the new X5 M Sport for a few days. Idk it's hard to explain but the interior just works. The seats are comfy and infinitely adjustable. The Harmon Kardon system is banging. iDrive is dead easy to use and extremely intuitive. The gauges are crisp and clear. You never even have to take your eyes off the road cause the HUD let's you see your speed, scroll through music, etc. The steering wheel feels good in your hand everything just feels nice. It's one of those things you have to experience to appreciate.
+SoccerBoi500 and sadly that is something most people commenting here won't get to experience as they are too busy salivating over shiny flashy Merc. interiors.
Ziggy You can't steal someone's titles. They are both car channels. Doug's titles might have worked better, or have been for a specific video. I never knew Doug copyrighted car reviews.
Quietbut_Deadly It's technically a 4 door hatchback because the trunk hinge is above the rear window, but BMW refuses to sell anything labeled as a hatchback in America (because us Americans for some reason have decided we hate them). It's a shame too, because I'd love to get an M135i hatch.
Very good review dude, very objective. I's just curious how old are you because I saw a video when you said that you have no time on your hands and you're busy with school. Again, I love your reviews and keep up the good work. Regards
I've always thought it was a manual transmission shy of perfection. One apparent benefit to an insulated cabin - your voice comes in clear as a bell at every bitrate, whether at home on my desktop through a SoundBlaster or when trucking on my beat up Moto G. Try this with exhaust notes: When EA wants to capture the 'spirit' of the exhaust tones for Need for Speed, they put the mic in the trunk/boot. Try a couple miles of driving with a mic above and below the mat. With any European car, gratuitous exhaust reels are appreciated.
It's a beautiful cal. I love the 4 series. And although I think you have a good point on BMW interiors, that they haven't changed much, I will disagree with you on Mercedes. Mercedes has gone completely insane with extra long ipad screens that simply do not look good, they look weird and disconnected from the rest of the car, not to mention the brothel lighting interior. For me the choice is clear: BMW.
Karo Galadzhyan GS350 feels way more luxurious than the bmws, (ik because my family has a 2017 GS350 AWD) it's pretty sporty but not too fast tbh. The stereo jams tho (base 12 speaker system sounds better than the Bose in our old 14' Escalade). The E300 has the best interior by far but it feels slow and not very sporty. Have you looked at the C43? It's in the price range, it's fast, and the interior is the best besides the GS and the E300.
The downside about the coupe design is that you have a higher window line, limiting visibility for the passengers compared to the standard windows on the 3 series.
Parker!! You are getting better and better at this. Keep up the good work buddy. Wouldn't be surprised if BBC picked you up for your own show in the near future ;)
I'm pretty sure you're a merc fanboy because everybody out there says the merc's entertainment system is just not quite cutting it. Many prefer BMW's iDrive and says it's so much easier to use and looks so much nicer. S class may be exception though... just maybe.
Apparently, BMW changed their nomenclature in the sense that unpair numbers like the 1 series, 3 series, 5 series etc. are the more classic kind of cars, whereas pair numbers 2 series, 4 series, 6 series, X6 etc. are more emotional "special" cars. Also the 4 series, was called that way as, as the number is superior to 3, it gives the customer some kind of superiority feeling, like the feeling of getting a car of a higher class.
Ah, there's nothing quite like a four-door coupe. My father owns a 2007 CLS 63 AMG and it's simply gorgeous, not to mention fast as hell. Maybe one day I will inherit it and tear shit up myself. Great vehicles, the CLS, A7, and Gran Coupes.
I wish the would make the z06 more quiet when u aren't on it really because we drove form LA to Las Vegas and it was so loud the whole time but it's fun so 😜
well, quieter interiors in cars would be helpful to me since I am hearing impaired and with a mazda, you dont really have that kind of silence from the outdoor environment. I cannot hear and understand my friends or family a lot of the times when in the cars, because I usually hear background noise a whole lot more than voices such as the car engine sound, outdoor environment, wind, AC, etc. Since you say the interior for the 4 series (in the 435i for instance) is quiet or more quiet than other car interiors, and if it's true, I'll be adding it to my list of cars in the future to get.
I love my 3 series, but BMW as a brand is a bit too laid back for me design wise... I like more flash on my cars personally, but BMW makes a fantastic car. The 4 series is great in so many ways, and seeing it's stance in person deserves a double take. Good shit Parker
So do you like the E92 335i more? Your review of that car was nothing but praise, is this car not quite as special as that car was or are you just used to better and faster cars now?
Hey but I have a serious question and would be grateful for an answer... I have 2 cars right now a GTI and a GT4. I really enjoy both cars but I am moving to a big city and will have 2 car tandem parking. So the GT4 will rarely get driven, so I am debating selling them both and getting just one car and I am thinking 435i or 440i gran coupe (I cycle and surf) so it makes sense. Would be grateful for some feed back.
maybe its because ive driven one during the week for a while now, but this is a long video trying to make the bmw idrive system seem special or groundbreaking in terms of technology, the drive and the other features of the care are better to highlight
Does the engine sound good because of programmed reproduction through the speakers or because they have plumbed a sound tube like Ford did with the Mustang?
Why does everything have to be a 4 door Gran Coupe now? That title has become so washed out now... We have several "Gran Coupe" sedans and "coupe" SUVs. Feels a bit ridiculous; what does "coupe" even mean anymore? It's lost its meaning
Atleast where I live, the 4 series doesn't make sense to me. The 3 series starts at 29.000 euros. The 4 series gc starts at 38.000 euros The 5 series starts at 42.000 euros. Wouldn't anyone that has the extra money go for the better 5 series? On the models I referred to, the 3 series is 0.1 second faster to 100km/h for 9k less compared to the 4 series. So why..?
How tall are you Parker? I am 5'11" and I fit in the back of a 4 GC just fine. Sure, if I sat completely straight up, my hair touched the ceiling, but that's now how I sit. :P
i was going to traning this morning, and some dude in a blasc 740i was roling next to me and i said " nice ride man" and he honked and pulled out a tad and did a huge burnout infron of a police station
It is better in almost everyway EXCEPT the lacking back head room is a bitch and most of all, the low centre of gravity just kills practicality - your front bumper will get scrapped to oblivion (good luck with the fixes). I was going to get a 435i but got a 340i instead simply because the low clearance of the car does not go well with my driveway curb, my work parking lot curb, speedbumps and most exit curbs at shopping centres.
agree with ness. i used own these but now i realized it better to lease them instead. other ppl will argue that its a better value to buy off lease... sure... good luck with maint. and random shit breaking
