Why the Bakugan Reboot was a Massive Letdown 

Possibly the worst thing to have come from the reboot was them removing Subterra.

At least the toys of the reboot is an actual card game

Battle Planet was bad but Geogan Rising is the biggest dissapointment from Bakugan. Armored Alliance is decent tho.

Although I still prefer some of the animations of the old and characters of the old I actually like that we can see the emotions of the Bakugan in small form and I actually think it’s not as complex as the original but still the consistency for the reboot is terribly done

After watching 1st episode of reboot, i started rewatching original stuff

This new Bakugan anime series is mediocre. The animations are mostly poorly done, with only a few exceptions, and the Bakugans look like animatronics when they're actually supposed to be organic living beings. Also, the plot, as intriguing as it tries to be, is full of things that make absolutely no sense. The entire anime is is about four 10/11 year old kids and their mascot pet dog who roam not only their neighborhood but also volcanoes and forests, even at night sometimes, and their parents don't even bother to call the police to report their kids' disappearance. Also, when the dog throws his Bakugans, don't they find it disgusting to be thrown by a dog with a mouth full of drool? Then, well, we have things that are a bit typical of many cartoons: preposterous haircuts, long speeches in which the obvious is said and which has just been shown in the eyes of the spectators and morals that say they are trivial and obvious would be an understatement. The only thing that makes sense about this anime on a narrative level is how Bakugan are sometimes hunted down when considered outlawed. I mean, the army arrives to keep them at bay, and with good reason since we're talking about giant monsters that can fly and shoot energy. The classic Bakugan is not a masterpiece, but it is still much more enjoyable and fun than this reboot, of which it is not one but two points above.

I'm still baffled that they dragged Drago's original VA for this awful reboot. In the original Bakugan series, his voice sounded badass and actually was very fitting, since the original Bakugan series has a more serious tone and Drago in the original series was a pretty serious character all together, since his only goal was to stop Naga and save his home. While in the reboot, it felt like he was just put there for a quick pay check and more as a cameo, then anything else.

Yeah the show was dog poo and I'm still looking for a Japanese ver of the show so I can tolerate it enough to watch. Lip sync was horrible and the dialogue felt robotic. The game formate is overall better but getting the cards to play with is slightly difficult. For the baku gear I can totally understand because that might limit the design on the Bakugan itself since they originally need a magnet and a flat surface to open. Just plugging em in is easy and gameplay wise just use the card.

Magnus black ruined the series for me because he was a Jerk and he had no redemption after all his jerk attitude like he never got rid of it unlike spectra and masquerade will make it up for it to help Dan but Magnus he never did And they literally made Dan and Drago like mere shadows of their original counterparts like becoming near shadows with our former selves just to be make them equal to The rest of the main cast When they should’ve been more powerful like in the original

ngl battle planet was a dissapointment

I like how spin master owner of Bakugan tried to kill all competition to it with lawsuits. Turning mecard series dub and expansion to the west was stoped because of that lawsuite and Bakugan lost it miserable, turns uot magnet toy cars that transform into Mecha robots by touching magnet cards is acualy original idea and Bakugan doesn't own magnetic toys genra that is integrates with card game.

You’re actually right Magnus is pretty much a rip off masquerade and spectra I don’t know how he gets likes but I still think masquerade and spectra are still better than magnus

In the past few months i see new bakugan toys in almost every shop and i really wanted to try the new season, but i didn’t manage to watch the full first episode… it was awfull for me who grew up with the first seasons. I hope today kids can fell the same hype and love for this season as i loved and love the OG one. At the end of the day they didn’t make the reboot for the OG fans, they did it for the new generation of kids…

You know this reboot of Bakugan is a Japanese Canadian anime produce/created by studio Man of Action who gave us Ben 10 and Generator Rex!!!

It was medicore and it meh. Had some good concepts and few decently well written characters. Pacing was too slow but it fine. It does get better. Reboot as whole does worse.

With how they made Hydranoid the wrong attribute and made him not a unique Bakugan(just "generic"), the reboot has alot of issue

Not to mention the game for the reboot is not even funny bad or just bad, it's painfully bad which hurts far too much for me

I watch the first episode, and it didn’t have the characteristics of the original like it seem like the whole entire show was just for game reasons instead of the world is in danger, but I never got farther than the fifth episode, because it was so not charming

I would rewatch old bakugan 10 times in a row than watching this new garbage

Hot takes but battle planet is not definitely not worst season. That title go to geogan rising. Battle planet is c teir bakugan season. It better then ms but not better then it peak. Battle planet did fine for what it was trying do. I said the biggest reason why people did not like was like 8 eps was nothing and no sign of plot until 9 and 10. Toys are better and it does have tgc but if you know you know happen to it. Less Dropped story lines and better pacing and less filler it would very good season.

Gen 3 bakugan, on the other hand is surprisingly decent. Don't get me wrong, it still has hiccups. Overall it's going a lot stronger than gen 2 ever did

Also, battle gear is not better than baku gear at all, because baku gear are easier to close than battle gear, you can put them in the baku storage without any problem, baku gear are easier to open, it's true battle are more complex designs but not always they open at all unlike the battle gear, baku gear are compatible for any bakugan ultra and battle gear are only compatible for bakugan from gundalian invaders.

It's funny how some guys criticized through the same words "looks like robots" "the show is for kids", "old is better", some of the fandom argue the reboot is bad because bakugan looks like robots, but battle brawlers not everything is "organic", since the second arch of new vestroia bakugan needs mechanical gimmicks or gimmicks wich looks mechanical, also the most current desings from battle planet looks more like beast and not like robots, in fact battle planet (show) is better because in the show there is a real team, the members have never been replaced not only Dan has the important brawls, at least the new Shun has matured, he really has improved and has got better as a brawler, i know Shun from BB was a cool Ninja, but he was nerfed and ignored most of the time, Nillious and Magnus are better than some many characters from battle brawlers, they have got better by their own effort, nillious has evolved by his own unlike Dharak wich needed dna's Drago to evolve, but I recognize Hydranoid was able to evolve by his effort but he was nerfed, Magnus is better than some rivals, he has shined without being just the Dan's rival.

Tbh whille the rebot show sucks atleast the game is better then the old game which slowly whent from 3 bakugans 3 ability cards and 3 gate cards to 20 difreant plastic pices to even be able to win a game. So atleat that was something the rebbot did good but other then then i have to agree whit everything else exept the baku-gear part
