@@mayotango1317 i wouldnt say that just one movie is enough (for what is arguably the best genre for batman movies) and even then it was not in live action
It’s already frustrating to have James Gunn’s Superman being prioritized over “The Batman Part II” which was announced long before Zaslov had taken over WB! And now this happens.
Its getting priority because the expanded universe can bring way more $ than standalone elseworlds. I do agree with u 1000%. The first film had so many delays outside its control. Now its happened again & also what you pointed out.
It's a misleading title. A non-DCU Arkham Asylum series set in the same universe as The Batman was planned, then they started working on another version that's set in the DCU and the original one got cancelled.
If was either going to be penguin or arkham asylum series when I last heard. Didn't actually watch this video tho, I'm quite happy it's cancelled. Hopefully they concentrate on doing a trilogy and then maybe do some spin off series after
Just finish the Pattinson trilogy fak-all the spin-offs. Hopefully the Penguin show doesn’t dilute the movies. And James Gunn should hold off from bringing another Batman for now
after watching this i do agree that cancelling the show was maybe a good thing and they should make all the movies first to show all of batman villains and then do the Arkham asylum series or a movie i do wish for a mr freeze for the villain
This is a good thing, frankly. The show sounded like they could never figure out what it was truly about or even going to be, first it was about Gotham Police then about Gotham crime then about Prisoners/Guards in Arkham, on top of that they couldn’t decide if it was in Matt Reeves Universe or James Gunns universe…the show most likely would’ve been a mess They should reboot and refocus
Definitely want a well put together Trilogy. Any spin-offs or shows in the universe need to be less is more like Andor. Don’t overload the audience until we get sick with all these shows
The want and need for all of these films to be part of one cohesive thread is just wrong in my opinion. I agree that The Batman should be its own entity alongside other versions like the justice league. I’m not even a fan of the DCEU stuff but I loved The Batman and don’t want to see Matt Reeves’ vision ruined by including some unnecessary character or ‘nod’ to something else just to tie those versions together.
Eh, not a huge fan of the Patterson Batman direction. I enjoyed the film but while it made for good noir it made for pretty bad Batman - I mean what kind of shadow-esque ninja walked into gun fite and tanks bullets?
7:40 can never have enough Batman...I love what Matt Reves has done super pumped for Penguin, but not sure about this Brave and the Bold thing... I hope they prove me wrong and Andy kills it 😊
Because there doesn't need to be one. I love Batman but they need to stop making movies and shows about him and Superman and focus on the 200 other superheroes existing in their world.
@georgedunnells50 I mean I'm a person could be easily impressed, that's just me. Nevertheless the least for a throw away t.v. series it was something the watch. I'd expect more from a actual movie with a larger budget.
Good cancel everything that has any involvement with that dumpster fire of a Batman movie. The Robert Pattinson version is hands down the worst depiction of the character that we have ever been given in live action. They should cancel the Penguin show and save themselves from going down the same road as the Acolyte.
Honestly I don’t care, I really didn’t like The Batman & I have no interest in seeing more of that world. Give me a more comic booky Batman, more akin to the DCAU.
I vote we give Batman a ten year media break. Along w/ zombies, remakes, and bad book adaptations. Just give it a rest, Hollywood. Edit: Batman comics are acceptable.
I like the Riddler and the Penguin in the Batman and I think they were taking the right approach, but Pattinson and the suit did not work for me. I was really looking forward to JK Simmons as Gordon. Gunn is going to destroy any chance of DC ever succeeding in cinemas. He doesn't do faithful comic book characters. He takes the names of comic book characters and applies them to characters that he creates. Vigilante, Peacemaker, Star Lord, Yondu, and Blood sport are those characters in name only. Peacemaker vigilante where actually made into Peacemaker Vigilante were actually made into jokes in his movies. He'll probably try the same approach with Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne and it will fail miserably. And why the hell would they use Damien in a Batman movie?? He's one of the lamest characters I've ever come up with. Leave it to Gunn to blow a perfect opportunity for us to finally get a live action Tim Drake.
Gunn tends to reinvent the lesser known characters. He didn’t reinvent Harley Quinn or Amanda Waller. I had never heard of Peacemaker prior to The Suicide Squad. I had heard of Vigilante but DC never knew what to do with their own watered down Punisher. Making him a psychotic fanboy honestly works well to give that character purpose.
