While Garithos overreacted it's obvious Kael got played by Vash to join Illidan. For all we know she burned the shipyard herself and took the ships to give them to Kael, because why Naga would carry ships around? She said she doesn't work for Illidan anymore and in dungeon of Dalaran she tells Kael to join Illidan or die.

@@politicsandart7994 it's possible Garithos was already under the influence of the Green dreadlord's brainwashing. From an outsiders perspective Garithos's actions already appear to be vary irrational and unfair towards Kael.
The modern Alliance does not regard Garithos as a war hero. King Varian and the other leaders know that it was Garithos' racism and poor leadership that doomed the campaign to retake Lordaeron. Although some members of the Alliance have prejudices towards the blood elves, King Varian was willing to bring them back to the Alliance, before Jaina got mad and forced them back to the Horde. One of his closest companions is a blood elf: Valeera Sanguinar, a blood elf rogue.

Garithos is a swine. He completely set up Kael'thas. You can't blame the Blood Elves for their anger and resentment of humans. Still, its sad to see how high and noble a character Kael'thas was, in light of how cruel and treacherous he becomes later in the story, going into events of WoW. Lord Rasciros insults the Dwarves as well.He calls them idiots and the like.But he never went as far to putting them to prison,as High King Magni Bronzebeard would demand that he be removed from position as Grand Marshal.
Pretty sure it was elves begging for help first. They had trouble against the trolls so they accepted to join the alliance in return for help against Zuljin's trolls.
Well, the High Elves pretty much ignored the humans in thw Second War and only came to their help when the Orcs attacked Quel'thalas and... helped by the Humans.
LOL, the idea was to gather as many allied as possible before the orcs could launch the assault. Elves said no as they believe joining the war won't benefit them and the situation is currently not affecting them. But when orcs and trolls began attacking Quel'Thalas during the Second War, the Alliance sent an expeditionary force led by Turalyon to aid in Quel'Thalas defenses. That expeditionary force was subsequently withdrawn in fear that the Capital City will fall that's why its defenses need to be strengthened. And all of the sudden, Kael's father was calling the Alliance "traitors" for abandoning his homeland LOL. As if they're the ones who do not want to help and claimed they didn't need help in the first place.
"Never trust an elf!" I think he didn't trust Sylvanas at all, but was fool enough to believe it's really just vengeance that driven her. But he didn't have much choice, he had too little army to take on Balnazzar alone and could only stay alive by siding with Sylvanas or flee (which latter is kinda stranger idea for him).
To those of you who hate the Alliance because of Garithos: This is NOT the same Alliance we have today. These were the last remaining human and dwarf forces in Lordaeron who had somehow survived both the Scourge and the Legion. Garithos became their leader because he was the last high ranking officer around thanks to his noble heritage. After he betrayed the blood elves, some of his men realized he had doomed them all and founded Chillwind Camp to aid the refugies instead.
At the end of the Human campaign in WC3 Blood Elves could be considered "neutral" this faction eventually becomes the one following Kael in Outlands, but its silly that the ones who remained in Quel'thalas suddenly felt like following the Horde rather than their king. The ONLY reason why the Horde has elves is because of faction inbalance, people on Horde cried because they didn't have a "pretty race", so they gave them one. Still BEs do not fit in the Horde, never have never will.
The present Alliance had nothing to do with this guy. Lord Bitchos was just a remnant of old Lordaeron. After everything fell,he took it to himself to be the leader. But we all know how that worked out.

Huh so was garrosh.its sad people can probably never see that problems in peace r formed due to individuals garrosh garithos r such and not groups. But the real reason was that the alliance executed the blood elves but none of the alliance members incl kul tiras,stormwind and even khaz modan.later members of the alliance also didn't care for the problems caused to the blood elves.the worse was that dalaran didn't care for even thier own founders and thier proud leader in kael.but when the lich king came they again came to the blood elves. They wanted allies whom they could trust at times of problems.sylvanus saved then from kaels madness and also helped them recover from the civil war.
Taurens and Night Elves don't exactly hate each other, in fact they have worked together numerous times in the past. It's just that their alliances are warring against each other. And Darkspear trolls and the Blood Elves aren't really fond to each other, but Blood Elves couldn't really seek help from the alliance either and Thrall decided to give them a chance in the Horde.
Yea China & Russia don't necessarily like each other as well, the same with Japan & South Korea, or even Israel & Saudi Arabia Politics can be complicated like that, especially when a "common enemy" exists.
Adding Bloodelves to the Horde helped to redistribute the number of kids a bit more evenly. Thankfully a lot of kids think BElves are evil and avoid them.
The High Elves, who eventually became Blood Elves were the ones that betrayed the Alliance, not the other way around. The WarCraft 2 manual expresses this clearly, and so does the WarCraft 3 one. After the Second War, the Elves left the alliance on their own, and only a handful who remained loyal stayed (like Alleria and her followers). So the only ones to be blamed (lore wise) for the Blood Elves leaving the Alliance is the Elves themselves, Garithos played little in this.
They were weakened but at the end of Burning crusade the sunwell was restored and gained most(if not all) of its powers back. The only things stopping the blood elves from rejoining the alliance is bad blood with humans, loyalty to the horde(Mainly the forsaken), and a rivalry with the remaining high elves.
1. the night elves are with the alliance and the taurens are with the horde. while the druids work together, they are still in different groups that are at war. and the taurens are very loyal to the orcs since they saved them. 2. the blood elves didn't make a holocaust on the darkspear trolls of the horde. they did it on a different kind of trolls who are forest trolls meanwhile the darkspear are jungle trolls and in a different "clan" so i guess the trolls are rather happy with the blood elves
Funny that the jungle elves say vengeance for Zul’Jin in war3 who was basically the leader of the forest trolls. Blizzard never gets there lore straight
Garithos was going to execute them over a mere suspicion. And Garithos hated all non human species. He tolerated the dwarfs because he needed their firepower but he hated them nonetheless.
Can't blame the Alliance. Better read the lore. The elves never wanted to help the Alliance against the Orcs while Humans help the Elves against the Trolls.
Lol , belfs are lucky that Garithos kicked them because the dreadlords were going to slay them too. Also , belfs were part of the Alliance of Lordaeron which is gone now and they are pissed off at the humans so sorry Alliance fan boys , belfs will never join the Alliance of Stormwind. Deal with it.

Elves* But great video. People seem to kick the Blood Elves because we're better looking than all the other horde or that we're some kind of vampires (we're not). Every huge tragic thing that Blizzard has come up with has happened to these people. And at the end of the day I would rather be the redemptive story of a race getting over its addiction, than a bunch of racist bastards.
Garithos WAS part of the Alliance (Or what was left of it) who led the Lordaeron Remnant armies. He isn't a good representative of the Alliance but he was Alliance regardless.
Nathrezim0 I think she meant, these are Kael'thas's forces. They followed him to Outland and never joined the Horde. The Blood Elves who stayed behind in Silvermoon joined the Horde.
And now, with the blood elves being the ones who ultimately convinced the nightborne to trust the horde, _we can blame him for the loss of THEM as an alliance race too!_ Damn it, Garithos, this is why we can't have nice things!
To those who don't know, this is warcraft 3, not WORLD of warcraft, or guild wars. If you thought it was either, look up both. They don't look at all like this. W3 was a strategy game, and it wasn't shitty. It was extremely fun. And guess what? You can expect pixels in starcraft 2 also! These games aren't made for the graphics, they're made more for lore, gameplay and how fun it is. Isn't that what games are made for?

The High Elves lived in peace with the humans for a long fucking time, many High Elves even attended Dalaran, and many served as arcane advisors to human kings, but the majority of their people lived in safety in Silvermoon and the surrounding lands. However, due to their constant proximity to the Sunwell and their inherent life long connection to the sunwell and its power (granting their magical power) they became addicted to it. When it was destroyed when Arthas sacked silvermoon....

Blood elves were selfish and ungrateful traitors to the alliance. WC 2: Ally saved their arse from the orcs. In response to that the elves left the alliance. How grateful of them. WC3: Lordaeron getting wrecked by undead. Elves dont help and complain about arthas stomping them when lordaeron isn't there anymore. The thing is, Garithos was part of a fallen kingdom where all the commanders and generals were dead. I wouldn't call them alliance.

@KaIanari what game were you playing? Arthas was slowly going insane from the beginning of the campaign. Uther and Jaina not helping him slaughter a town in no way caused him to become evil. It was his inherent insecurities, fears, and repressed rage that caused him to become evil.
What people don't understand is that the Blood elves already abandoned the Alliance back in warcraft 2. Warcraft 2 High elf: Wah wah wah orcs burning help humans Human: We will save you! *Drives away orcs* High elf: I don't like you because I don't like you and you stink *leaves* Warcraft 3 Elf: Lordaeron getting scourged? in the end it wasn't really their mistreatment, because the elves were loyal the thing that made them bad was their thirst for magic from the loss of their magic sunwell.
@WoWMatrix89 I agree, The only thing why Cairne Bloodhoof died is because, the Grim totem put's a poison on Garrosh Hellscream weapon which it lead's to why Cairne chieftain died, and Garrosh Hellscream doesn't trust the Forsaken just because the Forsaken are using the Plague or the Lich king resurrection thingy (I forgot the name of it) or both of it that destroyed the balance of the nature. And Vol'jin (The Troll Leader) about it, i dunno why they left the Ogrimmar.
I think Lord Garithos is a hero.He alone stopped the huge scourge armies for months with the little forces he owned.Hewas the reason why scourge could not go past silverpine.He took dalaran and many lands back.And elves are traitorous.They left the alliance after second war despite all the things the humans havedone for them.Now they come expecting good additude fromhumans.And they go around allying with the alliance's enemies.And remember garithos was able to put aside his hatred for Lordearon.
Blood elves were never on the alliance. They were High elves until the sunwell was destroyed by the scourge, when they later became blood elves while searching for something new to sustain them, that's when they joined the horde.
The lore says that the night elves had disagreements about the Well of Eternity. So some Night Elves left and went to Tirisfal Glades, where they tried to make a settlement there. They began to go mad and they lost their purple colored skin, so they left going further north, there was something evil that lurked in that part of the world.
The only thing that changes things is that the two parties of Pandaren aren't from anywhere else but Wandering Isle, more or less if any chance but the major groups are from a rather political themselves when wanting two things, honor or friends in this case. It really makes sense up to this point since Garrosh was in charge at the moment and King of Stormwind took in the pride of new allies. Even if it would be a horde outcast. So... It really just bends at any angle in this case.
@sims256 Some of them were The ones that were in Silvermoon became Blood elves, but because a lot of them befriended the humans and wanted to explore the world they left, These High elves actually survived because the humans PROTECTED them. Garithos wasn't even a real general, just a Warlord that gathered the remaining humans into an army. Had sylvanes not backstabbed him the humans in the north eastern kingdoms wouldn't be hunted down by both Scourge and Forsaken :(
he died a death of a man who tried his best to help his people even if he fell into madness he tried to help us only to go insane to help the blood elfs he should be seen not as a hero but not as a vilan.
@KisiroKitsune Since TBC, Blood Elves don't consume fel or demon magic anymore. Now BE have the Sunwell, with a mix of arcane magic and the Holy Light powers. The BE model with green eyes is outdated, Blizzard have to do a new model for Blood elves, maybe with blue eyes or yellow eyes, because of Sunwell light powers.
@Cili1000XL Umm, check your lore!... XD A lot of High elves left Quel thalas, and went to the human lands. They would die because they have become addicted to it, and sometimes magical withdrawel can kill you. The blood elves succumbed to the lure of fel energy, while the High elves sought other means to quell their thirst. Those elves in Dalaran are the elves that were once part of the Dalaran council :) As were the Blood elves :)
I'm just putting this out there that actually the Undead were once a solo power known as the Forsaken at one time weren't they. Then after a while for some reason why i forget they joined up with the Horde.
And one last thing, which game introduced you to the WarCraft universe? Considering the Blood Elves got their wish and traveled to Outland to meet with their now fallen prince, they now have nothing else to share with the Horde. Either way, the Alliance still has a few loyal and honorable High Elves in their ranks, who they themselves look at the Blood Elves as despicable.
I would like to say honestly playing throughout the entire warcraft campaigns. I have never seen thrall been too involved any of those cases. They actually helped in most of them. The only thing I seen that the Horde doing something bad is when they attacked the night elfes. But they ended up saving them from Mannoroth anyways, lol
